  • This covers the non VVti immo delete device. One common ecu which I am seeing is the USDM 89661-50340 or 89661-50341 which has an immobilizer fitted preventing them from starting in a swap if the immo is not wired.
    The Cartune Company (2003) Ltd in New Zealand does 1uz and 3uz conversions / parts and wiring. We have been working on UZ Toyota V8 engines since 2004 when we did our own Hiace van to transport dirtbikes around NZ. Since then we have swapped to doing mainly just Lexus V8 work from a family owned farm hidden away in our paradise , surrounded by the NZ native bush. We sell parts and simple to follow wiring instructions for the 1uzfe engines. For enquiries email info@thecartunecompany.co.nz Take Care. Kelvin

    Problem is the immobilizers didnt stop the car thieves...Great vid Kelvin!

    • @CartuneNZ
      @CartuneNZ  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Generally the thieves just get smarter than the engineers. One other model of car I know of the immo was connected to the front indicator bulbs (so the flash when immo was disturbed) , Front indicators blow immo was disabled, theives would smash front indicators and steal the cars. haha. Clever buggers.

    I have a question, please. If I have the luxury to select from multiple ECUs for a 1uz vvti, but I don't have the chance to test any. Is there any quick way to know by the looks of an ECU if it has an immobilizer? Do all JDM ECUs for 1uz vvti come with no immobilizer?

    Brilliant Video as always Kelvin! Wondering if you could make a video for a 1UZFE VVTi(1999) Power Steering Pump, and A/C delete? Having a problem with how I get my get my belts to be on the correct side, and correct rotation, would you advise using idle pulleys? Is there a cheap kit available? How would you get around this issue?
    Thanks!

      @CartuneNZ  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have started a video on Belt routing (rooting??) . The fitment of the different options of belts but its a little while of being finished. I have a solution with a little alternator only tensioner unit. Check out the Blue non vvti engine videos. th-cam.com/video/3C39DmnZyco/w-d-xo.html At 21:50 it has the unit I use. cheers Kelvin

      @Qzh_Platinum 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Arhh ok brilliant! well I look forward to seeing that! With that setup your not running the belt to the idler, fan/water pump though? And how have you mounted this additional alternator pulley? Something you’ll cover in your video I assume?

    • @CartuneNZ
      @CartuneNZ  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The waterpump has a belt running to it just fine , as its driven from the cambelt. Additional alternator pulley is bolted using existing bolts, the alternator bolt and two front cover bolts. Cheers Kelvin

    I have 2uzfe i bought the unichip plug and play and I’m having a hard time tuning it would you prefer the link storm to tune or is it capable of tuning?

    • @CartuneNZ
      @CartuneNZ  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Early 2uz the tuning of stock ecu isnt a good option , therefore I prefer a full aftermarket ECU wired as a piggyback style. I have helped a guy in the USA with a 4 runner do just this a few years back. Cheers

    • @CartuneNZ
      @CartuneNZ  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ucf20 vvti are different again, they can have a grey 26 pin plug and have immo or not. Ecu number is the difference there

    Hello Kelvin, Great videos. Been keeping an eye on some of your videos about 3UZ ECU's. I have done a complete Toyota 4age 20valve conversion and I've managed to wire up a stock ECU and got the car running great. Do you perhaps have any knowledge on 4age blacktop 20valve ECU's? I would like to delete the immobilizer/chipped key transponder unit on one of the later model ECU's. I've taken this off a later model Toyota 20valve and requires the original chipped key and transponder unit which I do not have, in order for it to work unless I can bypass this through the ecu. Basically there is fuel but no spark with the ECU. Its been taken out of a driving car so I definitely know the ECU is still good. Let me know your thoughts and if you able to assist in any way

    • @CartuneNZ
      @CartuneNZ  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I've done 4age ecu and worked on lots of them at one point. Same principles as uz immobilizer. At present I'm focused on uz (and the odd ls) work so no time for other stuff.

    where would you get one of these units that would plug in internally or externally, if I wanted to try it myself. Would it be frowned upon if I did?
    Edit: it would be for a '93 soarer

    • @CartuneNZ
      @CartuneNZ  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The 93 soarer doesn't have a factory immobilizer in the ecu so no point getting this unit. Cheers Kelvin

      @@CartuneNZ I double checked and I am pretty sure it is a 1991 model, UZZ30. The previous owner said it was an immobilizer problem. There is power going to the injectors and the starter but not the distributor. Is there a way to clear or bypass the code with a plug-in, or do I have to send it to someone like you to do it?

    Kelvin for immobilized ucf20 with haltech 2500 ecu. Do i need to disable immobilizer, like removing transponder ecu and key ring ?

    • @CartuneNZ
      @CartuneNZ  ปีที่แล้ว

      No , its simply wont work as the stock ecu isnt present.

    • @ThePunjabhe
      @ThePunjabhe ปีที่แล้ว

      Ill make it work mate. Ill copy eeprom from stock ecu and clone it to immo emulator. wire the circuit between transponder ecu and haltech ecu.

    • @CartuneNZ
      @CartuneNZ  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Tugrol Choudary ok. Lots of work for something that isn't really needed. I simply wire the haltech and away it goes. If someone really wants immo then an aftermarket alarm is a much easier solution these days.

    • @ThePunjabhe
      @ThePunjabhe ปีที่แล้ว

      Immo is the best option no way to start without paired rf id chip. Aftermarket alarm with a kill switch thiefs can find the switch and pick ignition lock.

    • @CartuneNZ
      @CartuneNZ  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We have aftermarket alarm with RF and multiple shutdowns so thats covered.
