    My brother died in 1987 he was in his early 30’s. I helped my mom take care of him. It was very hard seeing him suffer. I miss him very much.

      Don't fall for the paid propaganda agents of pharmaceutical companies.......who push the propaganda to normalise and make HIV common......truth is that HIV is a deadly incurable disease and the HIGHLY EXPENSIVE medication for HIV are a sort of slow poison that slowly degrade and kill the patient. The best way to protect yourself from HIV is to be close to God and distant from Adultery and drug abuse.

      I agree that it may not be the picture it was back in the '80's but it's reckless to make blanket statements such as the ones in this interview. It is STILL a dangerous disease and it STILL is a cause of death today, as in this nice man's case. It pees me off when people say things like, "Oh, just treat this as a chronic illness, just take these "harmless" pills, etc. and you'll live to a hundred." Sorry that's crap when you are speaking of potentially lethal diagnoses such as this, or say a stage IV cancer. How about the terrible side effects of the drugs for this particular disease? I know HIV/AIDS patients who've spoken about this fact. It's no walk in the park, and I wish some wouldn't sugar coat it like this.

    He had a meaningful life and made his contributions through his vocation (social work) and his HIV activism. He could've just committed suicide like many others did when he was told his diagnosis, especially at that tender age. Some of the comments here are just posted by the usual calloused and cruel brigade who post on every YT video about AIDS or gays. Life is not about quantity of years but content; we all live 70-90 years if lucky and leave the stage. His young life had content and he contributed what he could. Look around you: not everyone has a sense of purpose, and some people live and die without finding one. They just eat, sleep, exist aimlessly... and live to take pot-shots at people who had a sense of purpose and meaning in their lives despite incredibly difficult circumstances.

    I think, "no longer a death sentence" is a serious mischaracterization of the 80's vs now. I think this statement refers to the initial immediate death and immense suffering. Compared to now, a slow drawn out death with medication. Which older generations understand and younger ones do not. Please comment on this perspective.

      With just 1 pill a day, ppl are undetectable and do not ever develop symptoms. It no longer kills people if they take meds. Like him I was a teenager and it was my first bf. That was 20 years ago. I'm still undetectable with a great cd4 count.

      HIV is a serious disease and recurring disease which can't be cured through drugs or injections by the American doctors but the best way to deal with HIV is by taking natural herbs medicine for it and is only few American doctors that know about this herbal medicine from doctor okougbo. I have read about Dr okougbo the great herbalist doctor from African who can cure HIV with his powerful herbal medicine. for the people suffering from the following diseases Hiv, Herpes, Cancer, Als,Hepatitis , Diabetes, Hpv,Infections ETC should contact him for his herbal medicine because i am a living testimony and i was cured of HIV. Although, i sent him what he requested and he sent me his medicine which i took for 14 day and today when i went for test i was tested HIV negative. you can reach him through his email on dr.okougboherbalhome1@gmail.com And you can also whatsapp/call him through his number(+2349032690878)

      I agree completely unfortunately. It is not exactly a death sentence, but it still is a very deadly, silent virus. I feel like with all this 'HIV acceptance' nonsense going on lately majority of HIV patients are trying too much to justify their reckless behaviour that gave them the HIV in the first place to sort of normalise it as if it was "no big deal". It still is a VERY big deal.

      It doesn’t just occur this way. It’s just one of the ways. Let’s not forget blood transfusions, needle sharing, basically coming into contact through opened skin with any bodily fluid that hiv loves to dwell in such as infected blood, semen, even breast milk. Let’s just take care of not coming into contact with any of these fluids because you never know if you have a cut and well you’re right also being on guard at all times with our health.

I did a lot of AIDS walks, volunteered a lot, supported my friends with AIDS, and I've watched the changes that have come from the new meds, etc. Remembering what it was like back then and comparing it to today, it's amazing to see the difference. The fight is not over though. As long as there is one new case of HIV infection anywhere in the world, there is still more to do.

I've had my own share of the virus and I was opportuned to come across a herbal Doctor here in the states named Dr. Kany through a testimony shared here on TH-cam, he prescribed a 14 days herbal treatment and also a follow up diet for 13 weeks that got me bouncing back. You can contact him via email or hangout for your personal health issues:

    Mark 8:36 KJV " For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul ? " People will surely die no matter what , even if there are advances in medicine that will prolong life and delay death . The question is, are you ready to face God when you die knowing you are living in sin while on earth ? " Homosexuality is sin and God has pronounced in Ezekiel 18:20 KJV " The soul that sinneth, it shall die ." There is a way of escape from sin, hell and the second death ( Revelation 20:14 KJV) through Jesus Christ and what He did on the cross for the sins of man ( 1 Corinthians 15:3- 4 KJV is the Good News or Gospel). Sin is confessed, repented of, and forsaken if one is to enter the kingdom of God or heaven because sin is prohibited there that's why Jesus Christ had to come down on earth, pay for our sins at the cross, in order to bring us to heaven by saving us. To repent is to wholeheartedly agree with Christ that what we are doing is wrong , and that we are willing to turn away from it knowing our sins is what nailed Him to the cross. Christ 's Resurrection from the dead proves that He paid all our sins and if we become saved through Him ( 2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV) , we shall never die anymore. We have escaped death ( second ) and hell for eternity. " I tell you, Nay : but, except ye repent, ye shall all LIKEWISE PERISH. " Luke 13:3 KJV. To perish means to go to HELL as in John 3:16 KJV.

      Nomadic Life Well, I am certainly glad I do not live in your country. HIV can spread in many ways, including sex. Sexual orientation or promiscuity matters not, what matters is that people protect themselves and if they choose to have multiple partners, they should all get tested. Homosexuality existed alongside heterosexuality even in primitive times. It is natural and quite frankly it will help to save us from overpopulation (if they do not opt to have their own biological children). To live in a world or country where we are told who can love and/or fuck, this is not living. I do not believe in your God, or any God for that matter, I believe that whatever is responsible for our creation is something we could never fathom in this life. I refuse to believe a God exists that would damn others simply because of their orientation or premarital sex or something- it sounds more like lies that come from humans alone. We are sick, defective. Good day.

      @@Freakfun Don't fall for the paid propaganda agents of pharmaceutical companies.......who push the propaganda to normalise and make HIV common......truth is that HIV is a deadly incurable disease and the HIGHLY EXPENSIVE medication for HIV are a sort of slow poison that slowly degrade and kill the patient. The best way to protect yourself from HIV is to be close to God and distant from Adultery and drug abuse.

    The ones who have the negative comments are probably the ones that have it. Some people caught that because they trusted someone who they loved, and thought was real. If you're not practicing safe sex you can catch it too. How do you know what your husband/wife, boyfriend/girlfriend is doing when you're not with them? Stop judging ppl you're no different than TRUMP.

    Quote from an Interview with Doctor Konstantin Buteyko, MD, Ph.D., Newspaper Soviet Siberia (1998):
    “There are rumors that you can treat AIDS.”
    “Normalization of breathing can defeat even AIDS.”
    “Why did you not announce that to the whole world? That would be an international sensation and could lead to recognition.”
    “We do not advertise that because AIDS is the punishment for human promiscuity. If people now find out that AIDS can be defeated, an epidemic of wrongdoing and perversion will be catastrophic.”

    If they can cure Covid19 anytime in the future from now, you can be sure they can cure Aids and Cancer, but they don't and or won't because there's more money in selling drugs to treat the illness until you die. seeing this now with governments and scientists, there is no love in this world, mind you not everyone in government or science labs know it, there's a select few people that save it for themselves and my guess is the select few rich people and ones in charge in government. It's extreemely hush hush, I know their games

    • @isshinish
      @isshinish 6 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      Okoye Forever you dont actually die of AIDS. You die because of complications. So yes, your cousin may technically died because of pneumonia.

    • @Lollii_Popp
      @Lollii_Popp 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      isshinish: I never believed that concept because had it not been for AIDS, there would have been no complications to that extent. Because of AIDS, it's difficult to fully heal from other onset illnesses.

    • @eddenoy321
      @eddenoy321 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      isshinish Correct. HIV lowers your natural immunity to many different infections and cancers.

      Okoye Forever
      It's not a "concept". To say your cousin died of AIDS could mean anything. Plus back in the 80s and early 90s people were not so quick to say people died of AIDS out of embarrassment. sad but true.
