Nice demo many thanks. I’ve played American strats for years but recently played a silhouette. Man…..I just had to have it. Hands down the best guitar I’ve ever played. No regret purchase. Very inspiring to play. Mine has the roasted fretboard.
Thanks for doing this! Those are my 2 fav EBMM guitars and hope to have them both someday. I'm looking to get a used Silo Spec first since I have a Peavey Wolfgang Special. The Axis does the high gain thing better, but prob replacing the bridge pup in the Silo to a JB would take care of that. I love the neck single coil tone. It looks like you replaced yours in the Silo...to what? The Silo has more jangle, but the Axis SS is pretty versatile with the 5-way. I don't love the neck humbucker in the Axis SS. It is hard to choose which I prefer...which is why I must have them both LOL. Which do you prefer or find yourself playing more? I'm sure they are both super comfy, but is there one you prefer the feel or neck or playability of? Cheers! Make more vids of these guitars!
John Connor Hi, firstly thanks for the feedback and sorry for the out of focus video. I have only had the axis for about 4 weeks and I’m still getting used to it and pondering on where it fits in with my other guitars, I’ve always wanted one and they rarely come on the market used in the UK so that was my main reason for buying it. I was surprised by the shape of the neck and don’t find it as comfortable as the silhouette it’s thicker at the back and feels narrower at the nut even though it isn’t which gives everything a ‘cramped’ feel leaving you hanging onto the high E string so it doesn’t fall off the edge of the fingerboard... for me.The silhouette neck suits me perfect. I’ve had this silhouette about 4 years and it’s my second one ( my first one I did actually put a Seymour jb in the bridge which gave it a more classic sort of sound). The neck pick up is a dimarzio cool rails which was on it when I got it but I don’t a problem with the original so I may put it back on. I’ve done about 10 gigs with the Axis so far and it is a great sounding guitar, the in between sounds especially the 2nd position sounds great very telecaster like but it needs the and tweaking to suit to get there I don’t use these positions on this video. There both great high quality guitars, I could probably live without the Axis as the silhouette has it covered ( I don’t play metal ) but it is a beautiful guitar to have and own.Hope this helps ...you will enjoy owning these guitars.
Hi John, I've installed a JB in the bridge position on my Silhouette...and it's Rock! The sound is amazing now! On my Silhouette Special that came in a SSS configuration, I've installed a Dimarzio Steve's Special....it's amazing sound now! It's a excellent pickup too.
Hi !! Thanks for doing this vid! I also have both. I read about the less comfortability of the Axis neck and I agree. I have changed the bridge and neck pickups for 2 DiMarzio transition (Steve lukather) but I still feel that the Axis still have more gain, attack and clearness, do You agree with that?
Nicolas Magnetico hi yes I agree with what your saying. The axis for me has a more modern’ sound that I usually don’t go for but when I listen back to gig recordings I really like the complexities and character it has in its tone. Can’t put my finger on what it is with that neck though, doesn’t hinder my playing in any way but feels very ‘cramped’ on there compared to all my other guitars even my old 70s strat. Just watched your videos ... excellent playing !!

@@MrLPguitar thanks for watching My channel! Do You have the original tremolo bar or have You replaced for a longer one? It looks larger than mine.
Nicolas Magnetico Hi, it’s the original.... must just be the camera angle?
