I realize this video is almost a year old, and I just wanted to point out to anyone reading the comments that now, you do not pick up in store, even if it says to. All orders are loaded into your vehicle in the pick up line in the parking lot. When they first launched this program they had it set up in such a jumbled mess that Walmart employees AND delivery drivers had no clue what they were supposed to do. Even now, when I pick up orders they don't know what Spark is!!! Lol like really!!! They always ask if I'm from door dash I just say yeah whatever. Lol. I have yet to meet a Walmart employee who knows about Spark, even though *most* of the delivery drivers are from spark!! That right there tells you there isn't enough training happening.

@@BeanShawna good luck getting in! some areas have a massive wait time, others seem to just let people work right away. im now 4 weeks in and I really like it. for me it's not enough work to be a full time job (probably just because my area doesnt have enough orders and too many drivers) but the jobs that I do deliver, have been great. i have a positive experience so far. most customers tip. there's also bonuses you can achieve as well. the most ive been paid is $31 an hour, the least ive been paid is $15. but its always somewhere in between there.

@@mizzysparrots4874 I applied and in 12 hours they told me there was a wait but then 2 minutes later I got my login information and am able to sign in and accept offers now. I'm starting tomorrow. Will report back!
I appreciate the real raw footage like this.
Exta Effort is when you have to do things like go inside store to pick up vs pull in delivery pick up. Extra Effort could be that the delivery was at a hotel and would require more effort to deliver items vs pulling into a driveway and delivering to the front door.
I did my 3rd Spark delivery today that was supposed to be contactless but the guy met me at the door. Afterwards it prompted me to take a pic so I just snapped a pic of his house lol🤷♀️
I love your completely honest review and instructions. I am a new driver. I live in Atlanta GA, but I am from Detroit Mi. I raised my boys off E. Eight Mile. I waited in my assigned Walmart parking lot and signed in with my Spark icon, but didn't realize the offers come in under the Earnings tab. I have no idea how many I missed by not knowing this info. Again, Thank you for taking time out to make a video.

What does Extra Effort constitute in the delivery?
Extra efforts would include:
The time you spend at the store For e.g. Longer than expected wait times at pickup
Effort required to load the order for in-store pickups (Express orders)
Effort required to unload the order at the delivery location - per order.
Traffic / Time of day
Do drivers earn “Extra Effort” pay for waiting at the store?
Yes, drivers will qualify for “Extra Effort” pay if the following conditions are met: 1. They arrive to the store on-time (within 15 minutes of the scheduled pickup time) 2. The wait time at the store is more than 10 minutes

Extra effort on behalf of the customer's benefit would be encouraging the store picker process to NOT let frozen and cold items sit in a cart for an hour before being handed off. And refusing to deliver a thawed order.
Regardless of what app I'm using that I'm just supposed to leave the items at the door but they end up being there and I'm handing it to them I just tell them that I need to take a picture of the items on the floor even if it's in their house or they're holding it Whatever it is. Just to be safe
$13 for 4 miles is A LOT lol if you worked doordash, this is a lot of money.

I live in HUGE ass Houston and only two locations throughout the metroplex offers this service. Both stores are an hour away so for me it wasn’t worth it. But I still have the notifications on and between 5 and 7 pm there’s an additional bonus. I wish it was at multiple Walmart in Houston😏

I think the only problem is delay by Walmart associates or Walmart employees. Instore pickup or waiting on pickup location is fine but if nobody bringing the items to may car and I waited for long then once I was trying to contact or talk to Walmart they act like they don't know what I am talking. Waiting on Walmart parking lot for 30/40 minutes is not cool. And after waited 40 minutes then I need to drive another 15 minutes for drop off. If 1 delivery takes 1 hour + time and thy pay me $15 so it's not cool. It could be easily done in less than 30 minutes if Walmart employees do things on time

About pay outs. I firmly believe that the more Incentives they have for us like uber eats has boosts, surges, quests, then deliver fees, service fees, the fact that deliver companies keep 25% of the total on every deliver all these muddy the water so we well never have clarity to how much we should be getting paid for for every deliver.
Seems like you had a bit of a run around but got it all figured out in the end! Reminds me of the run around of when my premie son was born, he was in Nicu for a week, and when we were being checked out the car seat we had was not a right fit! So we had to rush to Walmart to get a new one so we can get our son to go home! :)
It varies. Some are pickup? Some are shop and deliver, some u go in as they have them ready but you take to your car yourself.
Does the app send you a notification when a delivery is avaliable? Or do you have to keep refreshing the trip page on the app? Also, can you accept the delivery at your home and then head there? Thank you for the video!! Very informative! I just got the email with instructions to download the app today and get started. 😀

Did you had to upload a copy of your driving record?
Did you sign up through DDI? I applied with them and it says in the contract that we as the contractor have to pay a weekly admin fee of $12.99, a per delivery rate paid to retailer fee for each order between $0.25 to $5.00. Also an Experiential Marketing Credit between $0-$100 (is this our pay?) Plus if you don't have the extra car insurance added they charge you Occ/Acc Insurance Premium If participating $6.99/week. I'm getting a quote from my insurance agent to see the extra cost and what's cheaper. I'm wondering since it's an independent contract if you can write theses fee's off of taxes? I guess maybe you can let us know when you get your first week of pay what it comes out to be after fee's.

TBH, I feel that anything that has to do with Walmart is a hassle.
That's why Sparks pays extra for that hassle unlike DD.
It seems like all the gig app companies are stealing tips. Doordash, Uber, Amazon, and others have been caught stealing driver's tips. Does anyone know if Walmart is stealing tips?
Thanks for the video. I was thinking about applying, but after DD put out the email last week about trying to get us first in line for the vaccine as essential workers it seems I won't be doing this much longer because I'm not taking it. I'm sure this will be required for all delivery platforms :/ Those Wal Mart kiosks are a nightmare, I've waited forever on a personal pickup one time. I went to the customer service desk multiple times and no one ever showed up. I had to go back on a different day because I couldn't wait any longer.
Asaner07 I am with you. I had already decided that I am not taking the vaccine either. Nope. Not me. If it becomes a requirement, then I will just have to find another form of income. But you should still proceed with doing these apps, because if it becomes mandatory, it will probably be a long while before it is implemented. Im still doing these apps until that day comes. : )
It's me GirlyGirl1 again. I went back and checked the Doordash email for the vaccination that was sent to us. It states that you are "eligible" for the vaccinationn not that it is "Mandatory". Don't worry, keep doing what you are doing and don't let anything deter you. It is not Mandatory. It is your choice to become vaccinated. Blessings.
Just say you already had it, they tried that at my gym. I'm very allergic so also not taking it.
DO NOT take it!! I know a family who had 4 members die from it and a fifth member is now in a nursing home with stroke like symptoms.
My roommate took it, got Covid and been really sick for weeks. Me? No vaccine and didn’t get sick when she did.

Wen the customer is there to receive deliveries, I politely ask if you can take a picture before they take them in. They usually comply.

I'm thinking of doing this, if it's in my city...are you still doing this? Did it work out well for you if you did? Also, have you ever gotten a cart to use? I use 2 carts, one is small and one is large, and I have plenty of bags to carry several grocery bags in as well, I use DD for now so I've had to adapt! lol...just some suggestions for anyone who does these grocery orders and are tired of having to do multiple trips to the car!

When I saw Walmart in the title, I was like, you are so strong. I couldn't do it. The frustration in the video is the reason why I stay away from Walmart anything.

hey you have blue on in this spark video too :) That is weird on on your instore pick up. I have been doing spark for a few months now and all my in stores have been in store. And most have groceries. Personally i prefer in store to curb side. Curbside i frequently get stuck waiting in the lot for awhile. Its nice to be able to just go in and grab it. Hope you had good orders with flex.

What happens when the delivery is sent out early (on Saturday) instead of Tuesday as stated when ordering, and the client is not in the house till Monday?

I’m in San Antonio and the Walmart’s who offer theses service are like 40 minutes away-- not sure how spark pick the Walmart to have this process, also I’ve done 6 deliveries and never received tip-- not worth it as of right now..
I applied in July. I have a clean record and very nice clean new cars. I have tried hard to contact someone, but I seem to get no further than the email to sign up even though I already did. any suggestions?
Employees place water bottles on top off eggs alot . Late and don't call customers and this affects your tips and status with the company ...you could lose your position even if walmart is @ fault . Money is decent enough..

I worked for OGP they wing it most of the time because they are always changing the rules no one ever knows wtf is going on and anyone who doesn't work in OGP really doesn't know anything that's why I left just too much confusion and no structure.

Lol I could have told you they can be confusing some times if you have to go in or wait. Then sometime the orders can get sent out more than once and you sitting there waiting then find out the order was sent out already and you get 3 dollars for being there. Depends were you pick up also.

I’m tryingto get into the sparks game but the orders disappear so quickly after there posted that I never get a chance to accept or reject it’s like just get the notification and boom a deck smelter gone what’s up with that
I do instacart and I take Walmart. I am trying this tmrw now that I got my info to sign in. My question is how do we know what Walmart store is what #?
When do you get your first paycheck, because I assumed it would come in on Friday but still nothing
The week begins on Monday and ends on Sunday so you will get the 7 day pay on the following friday
Update, I received the invoice on Friday (5 days after end of week 1) and it deposited the following monday (3 days later). For anyone who is also confused.
Any in store pickups you go to the in store pickup area outside. 🙄
