    A 5-minute burn-in video for new High Definition Televisions. (HDTV) Put the file on a memory stick and tell your TV to loop and allow to run whenever you are not watching a program. Most Plasma TV break-in at around 150-hours. It should also "scrub" image retention issues.
    To loop: right click on the TH-cam video player window, after the video is loaded, and select "Loop"
    Since the burn-in clip was posted, now 8 years ago, many have taken the time to post thank-you messages. I want to return the kindness and thank YOU for letting me know I have been helpful.

    4 months ago I used Burn-in clip for 12 hr straight 3 times.
    Fox news spinning cube retention remained on my Panny 60ST60 plasma.....Darn you Megan Kelly.
    Today I'm very happy to find roughly 600 hours of normal tv viewing has eliminated retention.
    If Burn-in Clip doesn't get job done no worries , time will heal your plasma.
    Just stay away from that retention channel or you can use zoom mode while viewing cutting out logo that did damge

    Thanks. I put it on loop using that infnitelooper site for 2 hours and that's all it took to get rid of some image retention I had on my LCD TV from using it as a computer monitor.

    There are a couple of ways to do it but my favorite is this:
    1. Just above your post is the video description; click on Show More
    2. There are 3 links listed. Macs like the first one best so, while you hold down your Option key, click on the first link for Quicktime.
    3. Download may take a few minutes, depending upon your internet connection, but when it is done you can find the video in your Downloads folder. You can also perform a Spotlight search for HDTVBurn-In.mov.

    May I request context and a source for your information on "avoid using black?" I can understand leaving the image on black may be bad; however, simply having it as one of a gamut of colors needs some qualified reference.

  • @peteroid
    @peteroid 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    i think the way it works is burn-in happens when a pixel is required to show a particular color for a longer time than the average of all other colors it has shown...
    therefore, just displaying black doesn't work since it is the exception of 'no data' (or else black could be burned in)...
    displaying as many colors in the burned-in pixel over time brings up the average for all colors it has displayed... thus making the burned-in color just part of the average...

    way cool Reminds me of the old outer limits TV show intro the announcer said
    "There is nothing wrong with your television set. Do not attempt to adjust the picture. We are controlling transmission. If we wish to make it louder, we will bring up the volume. If we wish to make it softer, we will tune it to a whisper. We will control the horizontal. We will control the vertical. etc The Outer Limits.
    for the rest search "The Outer Limits TV Show ~ Introduction And Ending (1963)"
    on You Tube

  • @TheVisualinformation
    @TheVisualinformation  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    I designed it for breaking-in new sets but several people have reported success with retention. If you have the time, give it a try. It would be great of you could give feedback whether it works.

    Ninjas: for an original burn in times are long but I consider running this for retention only until I no longer can see the problem. Overnight should do it.

  • @TheVisualinformation
    @TheVisualinformation  11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    If it is a whole line of dead pixels you likely have a hardware issue. This cannot fix a hardware failure but it does not cost anything to try.

  • @TheVisualinformation
    @TheVisualinformation  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @MADagain321 Maybe not. Some "experts" believe burning-in a plasma TV is important but cannot find a clip to run. I built the burn-in clip for people believing it is a good idea.

    break in clip or this clip is to remove burn in?

    • @TheVisualinformation
      @TheVisualinformation  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ahhh, I understand your point. "Burn-in," in this context, is breaking-in: This is a "break-in" video.
      I think you are asking if this was intended to address "image retention." I did not design this clip to fix image retention and I try not to refer to image retention as burn-in. (Though I have slipped up there before)
      Burn-in = break-in: equivalent for an electronic component
      Image retention = separate issue, although some have said this fixed image retention for them.
