Just ordered the A158WA today to complement my F91W. I have Casioaks with Bluetooth and solar and a G-Shock square with multiband and solar but the F91 is still a great watch to wear, and the 158 will be too. Calling it a kid's watch says more about the person saying it than the watch itself. Each to his own of course.
Ah, the A158... I like it more than the A168 and I really could consider buying one! (matter of fact it's in my Amazon cart, has been there for quite a while now...). Kid's watches? These are understated gems! I too have GShocks with tough solar, multi band 6, Bluetooth and all those pizzazz, but the charm of a trusty F91 (or its cousins) does not fade away! I like your videos and a lot of the watches you showcase are really vintage so, it's just right for them to show the signs of time. I actually enjoy it!

amazing Casio watches- if you don't use the light or other power consuming complications, that battery can last for quite some time. I have a few Casio watches that are several years running and haven't had a battery change since I purchase them.
Just got mine delivered today. Crosse checked all the tell signs for a fake from the light duration to the brand embedding on the strap. Luckily I've confirmed that I received a genuine piece from Amazon. Really feels comfortable to use as a daily piece.
Hi there! I don't have the watch with me right now, but for the A168, I think you have to press the bottom right button for a few seconds (7 or more) and the writing "Casio" will appear on the dial. This means it's original. On all Casios usually you check if they're original by pressing the buttons with a specific order. Hope this helped! Thanks for this comment!@@Namelessperson0
@@Namelessperson0 Here are the techniques I know of- 1. Check the light. It should turn off immediately after you leave the button. The original CASIO is designed to be battery efficient so the light will not stay turned on, while a fake CASIO will stay turned on for 1 or 2 seconds more after you leave the light button. 2. Check the backplate of the watch for the screws. The original watch should have two types of screw fittings on all four of the screw heads in the backplate. Meaning, one line on the screw will not go all the way across the screwhead while the other line will go all the way across the screwhead. The original watch has these two types of threading on the screw heads of the backplate or ease of access. 3. Check the alignment of the lettering "CASIO" and "alarm chrono". On the original watch it should be properly aligned both horizontally and vertically. A fake CASIO watch will have these lettering a little deviated from one another. 4. Check the CASIO brand imprint on the watch strap clip. The lettering of the brand on the strap clip should have a little indentation or imprint. Meaning that the letters should be pressed into the clip. If the lettering of the brand does not have any indentation, it's probably a fake. 5. The "Made in thailand" or "Made in China" disclaimer on the backplate and strap of the watch should be the same. If the Backplate and strap have different manufacturing disclaimers then it's definitely a fake. 6. Check the FONT size of the numbers and letters in the watch display. It should not be too thick. If the numbers and letters on the display look like they have a bold outline then the A-168 you have is probably a fake. That's the most I know for now. Hope this helps.

It came like that from the factory. It was a particular w-59 “stealth “ version with that nato strap. I have the exact model number somewhere and I’ll write it in a comment. It is hard to find it these days: I tried to buy it one more time but couldn’t find it anywhere… Thanks for this comment!
Here, I found it: The model number is W-59B-1AVEF. I had seen it marked as “unavailable at the moment “ on Amazon a few years ago and I had put it up in my cart. After a few months it became available, but with a price of about 150€ : too much! Then, one day, the price dropped to about 35€, and I bought it right away! It stayed available only for a day and now it’s not available anymore. In my Amazon cart I’ve had the white version (with a greenish nato strap) for more than a year now. I keep my fingers crossed to see if that becomes available too! Thanks for watching!
I know the feeling. I know it's hard to resist. What I can tell you is that probably you don't need it, but for sure you won't regret it if you get one. It'll be very pleasant to wear this on your wrist. Yes! This watch has had the same battery for MORE than 9 years. It's still working. Only the "Illuminator" light is not working now. I will change the battery and make a new video about it. Thank you for your comment!

I was genuinely surprised when shooting the video, when I found out that pushing the light button “ghosted“ the digits… Come to think about it, the watch is almost fully functional, only not visible in the dark.
