- Watch me as I sew the Duncan Messenger Sling from start to finish! I'm sewing on a Juki DU1181N, but this could be made on a domestic machine - just choose materials that your machine can handle! This pattern is the March 2023 contribution to Bag of the Month Club. *Note - there was fusible fleece attached to some of my exterior pieces in this video. The fleece was later replaced with woven interfacing in the pattern, so please pretend like the fleece you see is not fleecy!

I always use a stapler. It makes it much easier . I use the amazon basic stapler
I just recently bought a stapler for my sewing room. Still haven't tried it!

Jen, is there something with your machine? I have the same as you but I think yours sounds a bit off?? Maybe it's just the microphone, but thought I'd mention just in cases.😉
I think it sounds different because of the motor I have. It is a brushless servo motor with needle synchronizer (that I don't use).
Where did you buy the edge coat? I don't see a link for it.
I used a base coat from www.mojosew.com/ and the black was Giardini.
What sewing feet u use you say I have a Juki DDL-8700-H industrial straight stitch sewing machine I want know feet you use and can I buy one for mines I’m new to use Juki machines and what’s the best thread to use I was looking for a size metal plate that come with the seam allowance on it that for my Juki any ideas you can tell me
I got my needle plate from wawak.com. I usually use a narrow foot, but the feet for the 1181 are different than the 8700-H. I used to sew on a Juki 8700 and my favorite foot was a narrow zipper foot. I ordered it from Amazon years ago.
Hi ... In the past I have used the tape you are using but i found that it gooked up my needle. Am I doing something wrong because you don't seem to have that problem
I do notice that it will stick on my needle a bit sometimes, but it does seem to wipe off easily for me. If you use the 1/8" wide, you can try sticking it in areas that you don't sew over.

They aren't available as a bundle any longer. You can currently buy the Happy Handbag from Sewing Patterns by Mrs H individually. I can't release mine individually until June!

You don’t have to be on Facebook to join the Bag of the Month Club. If you don’t want to join the club, you can wait until she releases the pattern individually on her website. You get three patterns in the club.

@@sewhoneybea The Bag of the Month Club where this pattern is included ran from January to March so the collection isn’t available together anymore. You would have to wait for each designer to release their patterns separately.
