Fun Bobby Backpack Sewing Tutorial - Reduced Size

For this Fun Bobby, I printed the pattern at 85%, then also removed 1.5" from the width!

I love the full size of this bag. I made a couple for my kids & they love them. They can carry all their school stuff but it’s not like a traditional style school backpack. I made one for my grandbaby last year when he was born for a “diaper bag” for when he was with us (we take him at least once night & day on the weekends so his parents can get sleep). My now 9 year old overed on it & loved it in the summer for his swim backpack (going to the pool & river). It fit his towel, his swim trunks & water toys (goggles etc). We are basically addicted to the full size version 😂

I had not sewn in 30 years, but started making bags at the beginning of 2020 with a domestic. I loved bag making, but hated the struggle. I moved directly to a du1181n and immediately I felt like I finally found home. Best purchase I've ever made.

Thanks for this video, I will grab the pattern. Nice to see a bag maker use leather, I see vinyl mostly used (very eco un-friendly). Thin leathers can be found, or they can be skived (I skive by hand, it's not fast but it's easy with the right tool). It's definitely more expensive than vinyl but I'd rather use leather than plastic any day, plus they fetch a better price! I hope you do more with leather. Great camera angle, btw.
