    I’m a happy owner of a 1990 944S2 Cabriolet….in Baltic Blue with linen-colored full leather interior. I ‘gifted” it to myself, the year I turned 50 that coincided with the same year I was promoted to Navy Captain. Here I am almost 20 years later….and I am seriously considering a later model 911 Cab. I have to say, that color combination of yours, especially that leather color….gorgeous. Bravo-Zulu….well done on your presentation. Thank you, brother!

    Amazing content. I have a 2009 C4S Cabriolet that I've owned for 4 years. I've never checked the drains. Never knew the rear seats we're held in place with velcro or of the break in the carpet to check for water infiltration or how to check for infiltration within the rear boot. Most appreciative of the information. Thanks again.

    Thank you for posting this video! I also applied graphite lubricant to the hinges so it would operate smoother, as it was making nose going up and down. It sounds smooth now! Oh, also it is dry graphite so it does not drip and sticks well and is not stinky! I had to edit this! My buddy said just put WD40, and I said, no! Can you imagine the stink in the cab.

    Great content, thanks for this. Next door's pine tree drops its needles on the car and I think that might be causing the drain holes to get blocked. Off right now to Hoover it out!

    Thanks for the video. Made me check my 997 Convertible with all the rain we are having. Back carpet on the drivers side was wet so definitely need to check the drainage holes. Hopefully that will sort it. Cheers.

      Glad my video helped! It is very common to be honest, even on Coupe and Targa variants too. Always worth checking, especially if the windows all condense up while the car is sitting on the drive or in a garage. All the best with it! Raj

    So glad I found you. Great information. I am considering purchasing a 2004 Porsche 911 Carrera. It's a beautiful car, but I would be a first-time Porsche owner - lots to learn first...to decide if this is the car for me.

    In the US there is no third key-fob button to lower the top, we have too many lawyers.

      But we can install the Smart Top” kit which allows the standard key to operate the top. Google is your friend. Typical British understatement, about water draining into the inside! Can I “Miele it” instead of Hoover it?

    My roof will not quite go into the storage compartment and remains slightly open

      Hi Richard, I have read about the microswitches failing causing similar issues. I think it may be a PIWIS diagnostic job to diagnose what the issue is, possibly a recalibration or replacement of some components. Fingers crossed it isn't expensive! Thanks, Raj

    My 2012 911 C4 Cabriolet 997.2 PDK key remote doesn't have the third button for the top, must have been an option with Porsche.

    • @MRSPORTSCARSPORSCHE
      @MRSPORTSCARSPORSCHE  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Phillip, are you based in the UK? I think all came with it, do both keys only have 2 buttons? I suppose maybe it was an option I wasn't aware of, even in the UK. Thanks, Raj

      @phillipgrint9016 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MRSPORTSCARSPORSCHE thank you for the reply back, but no, I'm across the pond in the U S and yes, both keys are original and neither have the button to push, just a solid piece, it does look like it could have the button in that location. Both keys only have the lock/unlock and the frunk release button. Let me know if you'd like a picture and if you could find out if it was an option. Thanks, Phillip

  • @oldrrocr

    It seems odd to me that the best automotive engineers and designers (Porsche) have not yet figured out how to keep leaves and road debris out of the drainage tray/weep holes and the front airscoops... or even warn you that there is an issue. SMH🤔
    also, how long does it take the top to self-destruct? open/close 500 times? 1,000 times? Thanks!😁

    • @MRSPORTSCARSPORSCHE
      @MRSPORTSCARSPORSCHE  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks 2RROC, it is a shame about these weaknesses for sure, but overall a Porsche is pretty good compared to most cars for longevity, even the hoods are good for many years, over 1,000 times I would say. Thanks

    Hi Raj. Thanks for this great content. Have learnt a lot. The roof on my 997 jammed preventing it from fully closing on the weekend and found the plastic wing on the drivers side had come loose which prevented the roof from fully closing. I was able to refit the hinges on this wing and all seems good but why did it come loose in the first place. Do you have any ideas?

    • @MRSPORTSCARSPORSCHE

      You may need to get the windows to relearn positions, my guess is one-touch operation on the windows doesn't work either? Google relearn one-touch operation Porsche.

      Hi B A, this feature was available on the 997.1 too, I am not sure what year it was introduced, or what countries had it. The UK 997.1 C4S certainly had it, I've sold a few of those and they all had the feature optioned. Thanks, Raj

    Hi .. I got water under the front seats and the car is not working properly.. the top cover is stuck halfway open .. if i dry the modules underneath seats can slove the problem?

    • @richardsimmons6470
      @richardsimmons6470 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You need to get these seat out (4 torques screws)
      completly dry out the carpets.
      Try and dry the ECU but could be expensive to replace
      Good Luck

    • @MRSPORTSCARSPORSCHE
      @MRSPORTSCARSPORSCHE  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Totally agree Richard, from experience it can be expensive, especially if the modules under the seat are left for a while wet. Good luck Shqipe.... Cheers, Raj

    • @leeeeeeeeeeeon
      @leeeeeeeeeeeon 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      car is a 2006 911 carrera Cab, water not leak to the seats but I believe it's dripping down to where you showed in the video, under the carpet

    • @MRSPORTSCARSPORSCHE
      @MRSPORTSCARSPORSCHE  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! You'll need to lift the carpets and dry them with towels on the underside, find the blocked drain and unblock it. Use a water bottle with a funnel to see which drain is not flowing fast enough. Key is drying everything properly, the foam underneath the carpet can retain a lot of water! Cheers, Raj
