Single momma who has to work because no father helping out at home or financially. I do it all. Work a 40 hour a week job, do all the housework, after school activities, shopping, cooking, baking, everything. It's so hard but so worth it to know I am doing my kids right
Sounds nearly impossible! You are a warrior, and I hope (if you want it) you’ll find a wonderful husband and father figure for your children very very soon! ❤
Love that you're so real! 💗 Don't give one second of thought to rude comments! Those people need to keep moving along and leave your channel. Keep on being you! Love your channel & how awesome you all are!!
I appreciate Megan's videos! Let's deal with our own selves, and when one has achieved perfection, then one may inspect someone else 📖 Let us be quick to hear and slow to speak. Keep up the good work, Megan! ❤
I'm so glad you posted this video and didn't decide it was "trash" ❤ I think this shows us the real life Megan and it was still awesome to see you try to find all the gifts in one stop. It's all about the journey and I enjoy seeing your real life experiences ❤ God bless you and the family.
As a stay at home mom, I value everything my mom taught me when I was growing up. You are indeed blessed to have all of those skills and traditions. 👌🏻
I am a grandma to three. We give our kids and grandkids money for an experience. They get a yearly subscription to a zoo or museum or farm etc. kids love being able to visit a fun place anytime and parent enjoy that it is paid for ❤ Happy Holidays to all
It was so heartwarming to see you canning applesauce with your mom. I used to can pears with my mom and it is such a precious memory now that she is gone.
I actually enjoyed your visit to Sam’s Club. I would drive clear to Harrisburg from Elverson to shop for my family at least once a month. There are great savings, if you are cautious. I also shopped at Hillside, BB’s, and Shady. Sometimes Yoder’s. I looked at it as fun and not like I was being foolish. I often took my Amish friends along. You actually did very well. I love your Christmas gifts for the children, very creative. You don’t have to apologize or second guess yourself, you are a very good mother and wife. You are doing a great job. Slow down and enjoy each precious moment.
I lost my grandma at a young age for un natural causes and don’t have this type of relationship with my mom sadly. I am so grateful for TH-cam’s home maker help that is how I found you!!
It is starting the busy season, and getting Christmas shopping done as early as possible is the key to survival. 😅 The most touching segment for me was watching you and your Mom work together in the kitchen. The funny thing was that you both were barefoot. I love that. Be grateful that you can still be with your Mom to soak up all that knowledge. God bless you and your family. Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas.
I’m finished my Christmas shopping for my grandkids, I have 11. I do the want, need, wear and read for their gifts and it works. I learned how to cook from my mum, 2 granny’s and 2 great aunts. I’ve been cooking since I was 8 helping at that age to get dinner ready when my mum and dad were both working and my aunts looked after us till they came home. The connections you make either family and food are some of my favourite memories x
I enjoyed your nice chatty vlog I was thinking Sam’s wasn’t a complete waste of time as you and Josh got a date night on your own 😂. I love the gifts you have bought for your children, my granddaughter had soggy doggy when she was young. Usually the glow up reference is you shine a torch on them, turn the light off and they should glow in the dark. I liked the thoughtful gifts you choose they can all play together with them. It was so nice that you had an Apple Sauce day with your mum, seeing times like that makes me realise how I miss my mum. Have a great weekend xxxxxx
I very much enjoyed seeing you and your mom in the kitchen together. My mom and gmom also taught me many life skills. I appreciate those lessons more now than I did at the time. Precious memories.
Some of us had mums that died way too young. She was an awesome seamstress but I didn’t get that gene! Looking back I realized my mum also had to learn on her own as her mum, my grandmother, died young. Fortunately both of us were, and are, surrounded by strong women full of talents, be they friends or family.
My Grandmas were both into doing all the canning, sewing, cooking when they were alive. One of them had their recipes in the newspaper. Not my Mom's thing at all..haha. I did these things When I was younger. My limited mobility makes it undoable for me now. Glad you and your Mom do this together💕
I love going along on your date night shopping adventures with that sweet hubby of yours. I see so much love in your relationship. Thank you for sharing
I saw nothing wrong with her first observation of Sam’s. She had her hopes built up and she was disappointed. She has always shopped at Costco and Sam’s was not meeting her expectations. I was watching another TH-camr who always shopped at Sam’s. Her followers said you have to switch to Costco. So she did. She didn’t like Costco at all. She ask for her money back and went back to Sam’s. So you see everyone has their own opinion and it’s ok to express.
We peel and chop apples into a crock pot and let it go on high for 3-4 hrs. Then we mash it with a potato masher. We like ours a bit chunky and this process works beautifully. You don’t need extra liquid with this method either.
Thanks for sharing your video with us, though it didn't go as you planned! Life always sends us little surprises. ❤ I enjoyed your video just as I always do! I love that you got to spend time making applesauce with your mom. What a treasure it is to learn from our mothers and grandmothers! ❤
We always limited our two children Christmas gifts to something they want, something to read, something to wear and they always had their stockings with an orange, small toys and candy. They apparently enjoyed it because they have done the same thing with their children. Grandparents, aunts and uncles gave them the toys and also clothes.
Love this idea, coming from a large family on a very very modest income, growing up we received one present, and a stocking filled with a apple, orange, handful of walnuts a few pieces of chocolate, not many have Christmas like that anymore, I miss my childhood Christmas’s, we were together as a family and had so much love, my parents are gone now, and holidays just have lost meaning for me, so commercialized now, but I put on a smile and eat more chocolate ❤️😉
I love going to kitchen kettle village when they are decorated for the holidays and have people singing! We were up that way last week and we went to strasburg and did the train with the kids
My husband and I just went to the Kitchen Kettle Village for the first time. It's such a cute place! We came to Lancaster to celebrate our 10 year anniversary!!
It's wonderful how God knows the simplest desires of our hearts without even speaking them/praying about them... I have been wanting a pressure canner for a little while to try and learn that. But I couldn't bring myself to pay the price for one. I found a Presto pressure canner last weekend at the thrift store for $11. So thankful and eager to learn how to use it!
Love the apple sauce! Always love your videos! Your channel is the only one I watch where I am not learning much but I am fully entertained and inspired and I have to actually watch the beautiful footage and can't just listen as I work. I did miss the closing Bible verse this week. I noticed those a while back and not sure if you did them in earlier ones but I now look for it on every video. Hope your family has an awesome Thanksgiving!
My mom carry’s Sam’s and I carry Costco. Household items like cleaning products, paper goods, etc are typically a better deal at Sam’s. Costco is better with their meat selections, healthy snacks, dog food, cheese, etc. so both have great benefits. I will say our Costco is always busy, we have 3 within our 20 minutes from our house and all 3 of them are typically packed.
Love the scan and go Sams has on the app. Makes shopping so fast and easy! Do you have the recipe for the apple cider drink you mentioned? It sounds delicious. Maybe you posted it in a previous video....
Meagan!!! I have watched you for years and this is my first time commenting!!!! Mom of 6 here- similar ages as your plus a 12yr old and 10. Best gift I have given my kids : YOURIGAMI COUCH!!!! It’s at Sams!!!!!! My kids haven’t stopped playing w it - everyyyy day!!!!! Forts, rabbit holes ,obstacle courses…..endlessss fun!!! Literally- we got rid of tons of toys bc this is what they play with!!! Happy thanksgiving! PS I clapped when you started the water bottle system - I have been doing that for years. Your new life saver: get the 6 popcan cooler - the one most guys take to work ……it holds alll the waterbottles in the van - without tipping. It’s also a central location- so they aren’t all over the table/counter…..and you can grab it in a flash to run out the door! Also love the simmer pot- they have mini crock pots for this - I found one at the thrift store for $3! Then I don’t have to ck the stove! 😍
We are Sam’s Plus members and it saved us over $300 for 4 brand new tires for my husbands truck. It’s a buy 3 tires get 1 free all the time here in Mississippi for plus membership. They also do free pickup for the groceries ordered online.
I'm jealous of that kitchen. I think you are so lucky!! My mom was southern and her family did a lot of those things you are learning, but she never did any of those. I always wondered what my mom did all day, being home alone and never working. These are the things I desperately want to learn. I've taught myself to can and to grow plants from seed. I desperately want to learn how to make applesauce and need much less than you now! LOL. To me, what you ladies are doing is magical!! Thank you so much for sharing!!
I love Sams club which is 1 mike away. They have a great app for your phone called scan and go. You scan the bar code on each item which they all show up with a picture of the item and the price. When done shopping you hit the pay button which comes up on your phone with a receipt which you show the person at the door and boom your out the door with no lines. The receipt shows up on your email.
hey girl- loved the video!😁 Great Sam's haul😉👍 Lancaster looks like a nice place to see and shop🤗 yummy apple sauce and cool toys. Y'all have a blessed weekend🥰
I loved this video - and I'm so, so thankful for my heritage as well. Growing up Beachy Amish has given me a wealth of homemaking skills I have used down through the years (Still using some) but being at the fall of my life, I love that I can hand those skills down to my daughters grandchildren. Have a Happy Thanksgiving to you and. your family.
Once I got all the basics like you got, snacks, seasonings, etc, I just get maintenance foods and it is like 30 a week. I rotate my menu. I even get kids squeezy snacks for hikes and church for me😅. I have a spreadsheet of my own inventory and my life has been so much better, less stressful. My grocery stores around me are crazy pricey. I do still hit Trader Joes for floral and smaller fun breads and fruit's and personal care items. The obly thing about Sam's that is too pricey is their floral section. I got a huge bag of cranberries for 5, and I put a handful in my salad every day.
Tip for making applesauce with the Victoria Strainer.....ask your husband to attach a cordless drill to the crank spot instead of the hand crank.....it speeds up the process immensely! We have been doing this every since my boys were in their teens and came up with the shortcut....now it is an every year occurance. Mixing different kinds of apples for applesauce is the best. It really adds to the depth of flavor of the sauce. Love your videos!
A few years ago, when we had only two kids, I decided to stop getting several gifts for our kids. Now we have four and we get something they can all use. This year they're getting two sets of a Fort Building Kit from Lakeshore Learning. It's gonna be GREAT! Also, I wish sams had more healthy options. But I've never been to Costco, so I can't compare!
Costco has super healthy options, but because of that they are more pricey. My Costco has really nice Asian items and since I lived in Asia for a year and was married to an Asian I learned to eat and cook this way. I worked there and married 3 years later to Mr Hunky. 😅 Sadly, we didn't last, his physical therapist got her hands on him and he is married to her now, but that is military life😢. You can just go in and take a look to see and I think you can look online. It is truly more pricey, but the actual ingredients are nicer, so I just joined both. I goto Costco about once every 2 months. They have iced Coffee and a hit chicken breaded sandwich situation that I get first, then I can walk around without getting hungry😂. There bedding and towel options are really nice as well.
Hey Megan! Just wanted to say that I miss you doing voice overs at the beginning of your videos instead of words written out. I am a mom and its hard for me to watch closely to read everything as I usually have your videos on while im doing other tasks, but I also dont want to miss the words!
I love that you only keep one in your ear. Too many runners getting messed up from crazy dudes. I have been watching the trial of Laken Riley lately. 😢
I loved your mums perfect cyt and color dress in this video. I am not sure why, but I love to dress really modest and I love that top on her dress and the style in general, especially the sleeves that go down to the elbow. I would love to see any sewing video just because they are soothing to watch.
We discontinued our Sam's membership years ago. We miss Costco. Would love to see one come to our town. Really like your mom's "white" kitchen. You are so blessed to still have your mom. I miss mine. Love home-canned applesauce. Ever try Braeburn apples? Our fav!
I’ve never shopped at Costco but I have shopped at Sam’s and I’m a member at Sam’s. I I’ve heard Costco has a lot more than Sam’s. I always enjoy watching your videos. Thank you for sharing. Megan have a happy Thanksgiving. God bless ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ 🦃 🦃
I didn't blink my eyes during the applesause section😅. Your mum is so beautiful. You are so lucky that you have a mum on your life. ❤ I daydream of what that would look like or have pretend conversations.
We did roller skates one winter and we are in northern Wisconsin - it was a nice outside/shed activity for them during the cold days. We like Sams!! I will try the roaster idea - seems way faster than the stove! Thanks for the Christmas gift ideas!! I LOVE the look of the wet dog game and the book projector. Im going to check them out. Have a great Thanksgiving!
Ooh, i have ordered stuff from Sams, the packs of Madras for when I am at the Laundromat, and they deliver to your door. No hauling stuff. It was so nice.
I'm sorry Sam's gift idea didn't work out. I am a Sam's shopper and very rarely go to Costco, because the Costco here is just crazy busy all of the time. So I totally understand your feelings on that subject.
I’ve always mixed all my apples in the blender. Seeds n all to get all the vitamins from the skins and also use no sugar or very little depending on the apples ❤
The slow realization that Costco is better than Sam’s Club is hilarious lol I feel like it’s one that everyone needs to have. It sucks shopping when it’s busy, but if you can get through one hour every couple of months, it is much worth the healthier options.
@ That sucks! Where I used to live Sam’s was closer, and now Costco is still about an hour away. But we make a day of it and go to other places in the area and spend more than we typically would so that we don’t have to go back for six months lol
I did Sam's club for about 3 years and my bestie had Costco, so we would often ditch the youngins with the husbands and have a girl trip to grocery shop 🤣 I always feel like i am buying enough for a year long hermitting, but alas, with 2 teens and a 10 year old in the house, the food doesn't last long. Imbsad the prices are so crazy, but im thankful to have the money to buy the things we want and need. There were more than a few years wherenwe scrimped and squeezed just for the basics, so Everytime i see my total, i remind myself to be grateful and thankful for my blessings and that i am not still on the short end of things. Like.... I CAN buy the person in front of me's groceries of they come up short. 🤷 Thats saying a lot. I typically save all year to buy the children the things they really want. I think instant gratification of just getting freely all year kind of sets you up for wanted or needing that as a rule. Waiting a bit and really knowing its whatbyou truly want makes it extra special. We often give practical things like books and art supplies, pricier clothing items, and such. I remember one year growing up, i got a lamp, that had an adjustable swing out arm, and a pink and white bedroom set. It was the comforter, a sham, a dist ruffle and a curtain and youd have thought i was handed the moon and stars.
Megan, I’ve said this before…the Costco in Lancaster is a madhouse! I absolutely agree with you…I won’t go near that store as a member. I think I’m going to switch to Sam’s club too…great idea! I made applesauce with my girlfriends when I was younger. So much fun. I’m glad you could share this time with your mom.
Switching a store because it is busy is asinine. You will realize that Costco is a better choice if you want to feed your family healthy. Spending one hour in a store every couple of months it’s not too difficult.
Sam’s club is so hit or miss. I have been a member since I was about 20 and now I’m 30. Sometimes I love their clothes, kids stuff and food. Sometimes it’s a total flop!
I know, their sweaters and clothing seem odd one year, then amazing the next. I did get that silky feeling sweatshirt this year. I want all the colors now but have to wait a few weeks😅.
Just here to ask you for a coffee syrup holiday addition or a follow up short on YT for a white chocolate coffee syrup! (#pregnancycraving) I feel like I’m stalking video chapters since you teased it a few weeks ago. ❤😂 thanks for all the sharing you do here and with Jana on Honey I’m Homemaker.
Fun watching you and your mom making applesauce! I make our applesauce with apples from our tree ( no idea what kind they are kinda tartish) - so organic no sugar
I’d like a Sam’s or cosco video that was positive. lol, everyone I’ve watched you’re complaining when you shop at Sam’s or cosco. I’m surprised you bought a membership 😝

It WAS a good idea. But not this year I guess.
You and your mom moving through this canning project was BEAUTIFUL to watch.
I LOVE that your emphasis on the gifts is so downplayed. In this commercialized world it is so appreciated.
As a stay at home mom, I value everything my mom taught me when I was growing up. You are indeed blessed to have all of those skills and traditions. 👌🏻

I can’t believe how rude some of these comments are. Love you and your family.
Just wanted to let you know how much i love all your videos. You are one of my favorites and a bright spot in my week. ❤
I love shopping hauls!! This was so fun and relatable. Sometimes you hit gold. Sometimes you don't. 😅

Hi Megan, love when I see you post a new video. So down to earth + I get so much inspiration from you!🫶🏻
I enjoyed your nice chatty vlog I was thinking Sam’s wasn’t a complete waste of time as you and Josh got a date night on your own 😂.
I love the gifts you have bought for your children, my granddaughter had soggy doggy when she was young.

such memories and nostalgia for you then!
I love going along on your date night shopping adventures with that sweet hubby of yours. I see so much love in your relationship. Thank you for sharing
We had fun! Way more chill than some nights.
Hooray for Thursday’s with Megan Fox ❤ I just ordered your new planner! Love your channel girl. God bless your family.❤❤❤
Yay! Thank you! Hope you love it!
Always a good reminder to adjust our expectations. I do the same thing sometimes. Good job being flexible ❤️

Josh slapping his tomato on your Chick-fil-A sandwich😂
Your green sweater at the beginning looks so good one you!
😅I know, that was priceless. He is awesome.
Love that. Sounds so doable!

Score❤

My grandson has the Tongue box and absolutely loves it! He got it last year for Christmas and plays with it every day still
Megan ignore the negative comments,we love your videos❤❤
You should consider buying a Trampoline for the kids, they will have hours of fun on it😁

Tuesday is the best day to go to Sam's or Costco. Less crowds. So excited about the Sams Club membership😊.
For the rice, goto HMart and get a rice container. They are very nice. I lived in Asia for one year and learned that storage.
Love the scan and go Sams has on the app. Makes shopping so fast and easy! Do you have the recipe for the apple cider drink you mentioned? It sounds delicious. Maybe you posted it in a previous video....

Nice! I'm sure Miller would approve of adding power tools to my canning!
I think the gift ideas were brilliant. My sort of shopping for my great grandchildren. Watching from the UK 🇬🇧
I love that you only keep one in your ear. Too many runners getting messed up from crazy dudes. I have been watching the trial of Laken Riley lately. 😢
Same here. Makes me so mad that he even had the opportunity to be here to get at her. Should have already been in jail.
Our fav!
I think I've tried it, but I'm not a huge applesauce girl. It's more for the kids.
Braeburns are my husband's favourite apples and make great apple sauce!
Your mom's kitchen is so dreamy
I love kitchen kettle village. But I really love September Farm. Lancaster is definitely our happy place.
I joined BJs near me and really like the selection. Has many organic meats and veggies and fruit. Just an idea for others
Thank You for sharing - Blessings
I love your ONE FELL SWOOP shopping idea! I haven't watched the whole video but share your thoughts on it if you haven't already ❤
I love Sam's. I use the scan and go it's great you just scan your purchases and go no waiting in line
Ooh, i have ordered stuff from Sams, the packs of Madras for when I am at the Laundromat, and they deliver to your door. No hauling stuff. It was so nice.
That mirror in Sam's is where I try on the tops and sweaters😅😂. People always cracking up at me.
I have to travel just to get to Sam's, Costco isn't on the horizon. Someday we get one near us.
@ That sucks! Where I used to live Sam’s was closer, and now Costco is still about an hour away. But we make a day of it and go to other places in the area and spend more than we typically would so that we don’t have to go back for six months lol
My son played with fun forts for years. Building all different shapes. We used old bed sheets over the top. Just years of fun
So much mess, but #worthit!
I did Sam's club for about 3 years and my bestie had Costco, so we would often ditch the youngins with the husbands and have a girl trip to grocery shop 🤣
I always feel like i am buying enough for a year long hermitting, but alas, with 2 teens and a 10 year old in the house, the food doesn't last long.
I rarely go. The parking lot is terrifying😅😂.
@@Sammiejammie521wow. 😮 There has be a nicer way to word this. Please don't talk to humans in this tone😢.
@@spunkycat6144 life is what it is, we don’t need to sugar coat everything.
It would have been wonderful to see your daughter also helping with the apples making memories.
I know! I should have pulled her out of school to help!
That’s the one reason we choose Costco over Sams, they have better organic options and better diapers!
That’s a lot of rice lol. Thanks for showing us our options! I wish moving groceries was that fast 😂 thanks for sharing and being real.
Good buys Megan😊
Hey, thanks for the cute vlog!! Was wondering what for wrist watch you were? Would you have a link to where you bought it?
OOOH I just filmed that today and it won't be up for two weeks. Google white chocolate mocha syrup on southernmomloves.com that's basically what I do.
Fun watching you and your mom making applesauce! I make our applesauce with apples from our tree ( no idea what kind they are kinda tartish) - so organic no sugar
Oooh the simmer pot!!!❤ sorry sams club didn’t work out!
“My night’s redeemed I get chick-fil-a” hahaha!
I also get gas every week, I never go below half tank. That way, no worries or last minute needs.
Megan: I despise toys with a lot of pieces
Also Megan: I wanted to get them Legos
😂😂😂😂
Megan, if you want more color in your apples, just melt some red hot cinnamon candies and mix it in.
I do that with cider.
I may have missed you saying this, but how many bushels of apples did you use to get the 40 quarts of applesauce?
Love your videos Meg!
Megan I was looking forward to see your videos and feels like I’m hanging out with you for a day❤️thanks for the video , I love it!
Love it! Grab a blanket and cozy up!
Love that sandwich from chick fil a!! My favorite!!
Throw in a few cranberries to give your applesauce a nice pink color!
You guys are so darn cute❤
Kitchen kettle is a fun day out
I’d like a Sam’s or cosco video that was positive. lol, everyone I’ve watched you’re complaining when you shop at Sam’s or cosco. I’m surprised you bought a membership 😝
I know❤, it is a toss up. I have both memberships. 😅 I get some dog items at Costco, soooo...and Costco needs the app for easy check out.
