Nah, you need common sense. Most monitor arms and TV mounts state pretty clearly the weight supported. And the TV seems thin, about maybe 15-20 lbs, so it should be fine.

I've had mine for a few weeks now - using it as my main work / gaming monitor. It really is absolutely amazing! Blacks are proper black, which is fantastic for games like Elite dangerous, or night flying in flight sims :D I wish it had a slight curve to it, as I've got it pretty close to me on my desk, but other than that it is perfect for my use. It even works pretty well for FPS games, response times are great and there is no pixel lag / ghosting at all as far as I can tell!
As for the size... I started with this monitor right at the back of my desk, 80cm away. Day 2 I moved it closer... and closer... and closer... and now I have it around 40cm away from the edge of my desk. It just feels like a great multi-monitor setup for work, and with FPS games I set a very wide FOV allowing my great situational awareness while only really needing to pay attention to the center of the screen.
Dude, playing fps up close like that would explode my head from motion sickness.
I won't even survive 5 mins in front of that monitor.

@@vnyggi621 More or less... The top monitor is wall-mounted upside down with 180º image rotation. And 2mm bezel is barely noticiable. If you have 3 regular monitors or some people who have 6 27" monitors, it's just too much bezels everywhere. I prefer to have just one line instead of, at least 2 and at most 4.

I been wanting to watch a review on this tv badly since day one. I’m excited.
It would be awesome for split screen gaming and for those with a deep desk. Possibly a good way to put it into perspective would be comparing it in cost to using multiple monitors to get the same screen real estate. Granted, multiple monitors allows for separate windows screens as where this would require you to organize and resize tabs.

Yeah, I had a 44" monitor for a while. I had to run games actually windowed, in a size that corresponded with my previous monitor size. It worked totally fine, don't get me wrong, it's just that fullscreen gaming was pretty much out of the question.

A regular printer can be had for literally free some real cheap one's go for less than $40 and obviously if they are used or whatever then they can be had for a lot less and some people may probably even throw away working ones simply because they are not worth the hassle to resell as they were not worth much when brand new
I remember my first printer which my parents got for me when I was in high school back in like 2008 or 2009 for £35 which was probably like $50 at the time and that was 10+ years ago think about how much a printer from then costs now

printers are cheap as hell, its the inks that get you.
I have a printer which I have had since like 2013/14 and they still sell the ink for it (forgot the model name but it was a HP printer my younger sister has it now and I googled the ink and it is still sold online it uses the HP 301 ink and they still sell it even in stores)
Also check local 3d-printing community, they sometimes cheaply sell old/DIY printers made with love and quite decently

I've Been gaming on a 4K 55 Curved, and now a 43" Acer 120HZ I can honestly say once you get used to the larger screen anything under 49" starts to feel tight. Your brain wants the full peripheral experience, but I will say it will take some getting used to.... OR... just use the VESA mount and put it on the wall for 10 more inches of desk space.

I have a 48.5" Acer 4K monitor on my desk, it is basically the same setup as you; it sits at the back of my desk. My desk is a little longer however, perhaps about 1m long. I got it for $400, I find it great for FPS (I bought it for playing through Brutal Doom wads) as it has great immersion. It's perhaps a little bit too big for casual web browsing / reading wikipedia, so I usually have a smaller window for that.
Also some older RTS games can be a little awkward, especially Starcraft 1 - as you are so zoomed in, it can be awkward moving the cursor all the way over to the other side of the display and back when quickly reacting to things. Total Annihilation Esc. works great though as you can use a higher resolution with zoomout.
I found even playing Red Alert 3 in 4K, I kept losing track of where my cursor was.
Definitely be interested in such a monitor if they make it smaller and add HDR support. And of course if the price drops a bit. But hey, I guess it's a start.

I love having a big ass TV as my gaming monitor. I have no idea why, but even when they were just 1080p displays, I always had a 40 inch TV as my display. I changed it to an ultra wide monitor recently, but now it still just feels kinda small, lol
The "remote" may not have independent buttons for each input, but the "TV" most likely has programmed codes for each desired input.

Watching this on my curved 42" 4K hdr tv i bought in 2016. I have an extension on my desk to take some distance. It is also used by my kids as a second TV. Waiting on a good OLED panel with HDR to replace it.

i have this monitor with a 29 inch deep desk. what i did was built a ledge against the wall for the monitor to sit on which pushed the distance an extra 12 inches and it made it a perfect distance to sit, fps games and fast moving games are just fine at this distance. there smart HDR isnt as bad as linus puts it to be. the monitor looks beautiful period.
its never been more difficult to decide what monitor upgrade to buy.
