Who wants some facts? - The Barney you play as is literally called 'Just Barney', since canonically he forgot the rest of his name in all the chaos. This is canon. - You're right - you look different to all the other Barneys because of your character's shirt. It's a darker blue compared to everyone else's... for some reason. - Switching weapons is slower because you don't have an HEV suit and its 'weapon selection system' to speed up the process. Except it doesn't get faster when you get an HEV suit, so... - The new noise for the health stations is a low-effort attempt to remove the HEV suit charging part of the sound effect. As you noted, it sounds awful. - Being able to reload your pistol with full ammo is a holdover from early versions of Half-Life and isn't exclusive to this mod - older mods with custom code have the same 'feature'. - The weird corridors (which really are all over the place and are the main reason I hate this mod) is a result of the mapper, known as Dav. It's just how he makes maps. - You didn't get a crowbar - instead, you can find a pool cue. It was near the beginning of the mod... but as you demonstrated, it's also super easy to miss! - The little purple creatures are called Chumtoads, and were an enemy modelled but not really used from the original game. Mods tend to use them a fair bit for variety. - New guns! No idea what the pistol is, but the new machine gun is CLEARLY the Pulse Rifle from Aliens. - Adrian and Gordon share the same voices. Surprised you didn't pick up on that - the accent's pretty distinctive. - Incidentally, there's a fan-made HD pack for Azure Sheep that DOES give Adrian all his weapons. It's hilarious seeing them all strapped to his back while he just uses a pistol. - The red Panther creature is another one basically cut from the original game. You're meant to shoot him in his eye. - ...again, the fish creature is one not really used from the original game. - The ending has way too many helicopters. Four in total over two maps! It's a real nightmare on Hard. - This came out before Blue Shift, by a couple of months IIRC. - There IS a sort-of sequel/spin-off mod called Point of View - it has you controlling a Vortigaunt and if you thought this mod got silly... hoo boy. Finally, this mod was (partially) remade for Black Mesa. Only the first part is finished, but it's REALLY good. The same team decided to put it on pause to remake Blue Shift, which they're working on to this day - the third chapter (just after the elevator crash) is due to come out in a few weeks.
@@dkskcjfjswwwwwws413 Point of View is an original mod made by the same team who did Azure Sheep. What you're describing is known as Alien Mode - it's a bonus feature accessed as part of Decay (which, for those who aren't familiar, was a co-op mode included on the PS2 port of Half-Life). You could access Alien Mode by achieving A rank on all of Decay's missions (which no-one did), or by finding a VERY well hidden cheat code in one of the standard levels. Although Point of View clearly took inspiration from it, Alien Mode is an entirely separate mod that doesn't really have any connection beyond a similar premise. It's funny you mention this, because it was only about a week ago that Alien Mode was actually released as a fan-made PC mod: www.moddb.com/mods/alien-mode
Note that Valve actually stole that idea: the Vorts do the exact same thing (with better FX) to rescue Alyx from the Citadel. Considering we see Adrian go to Xen but then later he's back, that suggests the Vorts "borrowed" him from G-Man's purgatory to help Just Barney... but then took him away again, probably so G-Man didn't notice he was missing.
Azure Sheep is such a neat time capsule. A great mod with its use of cut alpha enemies, levels and story ideas. The level design really is lacking with lots of empty corridors. The G-Man role in this mod makes sense if you go back to pre-HL2 days where it was a very popular fan-theory that the G-man was the administrator of Black Mesa.

The Black Mesa version of this mod is actually kinda better, especially since they make it have more canon-friendly moments by having the player character(Justin Barnes) gets shot by a black ops(which happens in original Half-Life) when he meets Gordon and replacing the special forces(the grunts with the pulse rifles) with the black ops from Half-Life Opposing Force which makes more sense all things considered. It also greatly improves the map designs completely, so yeah it's pretty obvious which version I prefer.

I ran out of rocket ammo for the final helicopter fight and so decided to fly into the sky and murder it with MP5 grenades. With how wacky this mod gets, it wouldn’t surprise me if that was the intended canon ending. Overall a really fun mod, though. I especially liked the world design at the very beginning in the barracks. Lots of little details to explore.
* You can get a melee weapon at the start of the game by exploring the lounge area. You can get a billiards cue with its own animations. * The vortigaunts have faster casting by default, even on easier difficulties. * The lack of any armor in the first half of the game before you get the HEV suit is the source of this mod's augmented difficulty, as well as the fact that they put in holstering animations, making weapon switching that much slower.

3:57 It's a place in Apprehension, when that Barney, as you playing, is killed by Black Ops, and Gordon fight them 5:01 Place, where Gordon in Blue Shift starts, and then in Half-Life 1 and Barney's and station
The reason why Freeman and Walker have a Corvette and a fucking FERRARI respectively are also the reason why Black Mesa has so many horrible safety and maintenance problems.
There was a good reskin pack for this mod, which replaces the new soldiers and their weapons (Beretta and Pulse Rifle) by Black Ops Male Assassins with High Definition Pack guns. I played the whole mod with this pack, and I really enjoyed it.
Gordon was never intended to be "mute". The developers said they wanted the player to feel completely immersed in the character, and didn't want dialogue from the main character to distract from that feeling. It really works when you role play and actually talk to the NPCs while playing HL. It would make sense for Gordon to talk in this mod, however, because you are not playing as Gordon.
yeah, especially since barney is mute in blue shift(i think) and gordon has friends HOWEVER, we would all be very angry if gordon started talking in an official half life game
Hey, here are some mods worth playing IMHO (if you haven't already) : Half-Life : Heart of Evil (not the updated Napalm Edition, unless you like goofy) Half-Life : Absolute Redemption Half-Life : Echoes (I'm pretty sure you already played this one, it is a Valve quality mod) Portal : Mel Stories (Valve quality mod again) Gunman Chronicle (Not really a mod, it is a standalone game on GoldSrc engine and it is pretty good. It used to be sold at store but it is now an abandonware)
true story while playing this I got to the helicopter part and kate kept dying I kept getting softlocked and I was stuck at one health... I cried for a while and then uninstalled it
Heh... I remember this mod. I remember the most that you do a lot of walking from A to B in it, so I put it in C tier. Still worth playing, but bring some patience and an extra set of boots.

11:48 You know, he TOO sounds very old for a 22-year-old...
12:07 I'm glad they did it that way because it makes him look tall standing that way. You want a bold and confident corporal standing tall and proud. Maybe he was real NCO material after all.
14:59 I actually looked it up that Netflix started on August 29, 1997. That's actually enough time to "Netflix and chill" if you have been ordering in DVDs.
15:05 Aww, how cute :3, but Barney and Kate forgot to pick up the chumtoad. Poor guy is about to get cooked by multithousand degrees..."quite so".
Fan-made stuff like this that was made not long after the original came out is so impressive
I think the voices and the actors were perfect for their jobs.
4:44 i swear i have seen that wheel texture in the beta screenshots of an old GTA game
9:48 Why is the pulse rifle from Aliens here?
3:57 It's a place in Apprehension, when that Barney, as you playing, is killed by Black Ops, and Gordon fight them
5:01 Place, where Gordon in Blue Shift starts, and then in Half-Life 1 and Barney's and station
0:44 freeman in the magnum pi 🥶🥶🥶
you make awesome content keep it up man
The reason why Freeman and Walker have a Corvette and a fucking FERRARI respectively are also the reason why Black Mesa has so many horrible safety and maintenance problems.
Not to mention that you can see shephard shooting the houndeyes on 9:23
This is a Blue Shift Alternative Way
There was a good reskin pack for this mod, which replaces the new soldiers and their weapons (Beretta and Pulse Rifle) by Black Ops Male Assassins with High Definition Pack guns. I played the whole mod with this pack, and I really enjoyed it.
Was that the Savage Azure Sheep LD Pack Upgrade? Cause that actually makes sense now.
no this is the universe where gordon talked in the original game but he was kinda deaf so he could not hear himself talking
The "Nope!" sound is from a Doom clone called Strife: Quest For The Sigil (great game).
And the endless Glock reload bug is a staple of Half-Life.
lam please play this
3:32 trip mine: im about to end this mans whole career
the voice they gave Mr freeman sounded like 🤓
Ngl Iegit thought you were DeSinc for a second there
2:56 disturbing, using a gun against barnacle instead of crowbar is horrifying
why did the resonance cascade started after when goblon got into black mesa with lamborghini with like 10 secs?
There was a transition where it fast forwarded time.
He's a highly trained professional and very late as well
Your voice is so mesmerizing. Subscribing now!
5:55 You just gotta break all the crates man
13:17 thats an enemy from the half life beta
9:49 picks up gun from the aliens
13:35 That's an Arrow. Also seen in the Alpha version of the game.
That's an Archer from Alpha Version, it can shoot small crystal thingy while in underwater.
Gordon was never intended to be "mute". The developers said they wanted the player to feel completely immersed in the character, and didn't want dialogue from the main character to distract from that feeling. It really works when you role play and actually talk to the NPCs while playing HL. It would make sense for Gordon to talk in this mod, however, because you are not playing as Gordon.
yeah, especially since barney is mute in blue shift(i think) and gordon has friends
HOWEVER, we would all be very angry if gordon started talking in an official half life game
Laseeeeeeeeer caution. Laseeeeeeeeer caution. Laseeeeeeeeer caution.
@@waffler-yz3gw i mean, due to half life 2, barney doesn't really need to be mute during the entirety of blue shift
1:43 well yeah thats the room you rest in
lamwarp: OHHHH
vortigaunt(s): *this is free real estate*
That was frustratingly entertaining 🤣 I couldn't stop watching
"Hey Barn! You're here to rescue me. I am rescued."
certainly one of the mods of all time
I never in my life have seen this mod
Hey, here are some mods worth playing IMHO (if you haven't already) :
Half-Life : Heart of Evil (not the updated Napalm Edition, unless you like goofy)
Half-Life : Absolute Redemption
Half-Life : Echoes (I'm pretty sure you already played this one, it is a Valve quality mod)
Portal : Mel Stories (Valve quality mod again)
Gunman Chronicle (Not really a mod, it is a standalone game on GoldSrc engine and it is pretty good. It used to be sold at store but it is now an abandonware)
Oh man this mod is really perfect
LamWarp Is Keeping Half Life Alive. And I Liked That. Everyone Liked That
Yes
13:11 what have they done to my unused half life npc pet "Panter Eye"
true story while playing this I got to the helicopter part and kate kept dying I kept getting softlocked and I was stuck at one health... I cried for a while and then uninstalled it
Fast & Furious got their cars from the Science Team
7:32 IT'S THE UNUSED CHUMTOADS!
For 2001 its a really good mod
12:03 At opposing force, you arent getting a gluon or gauss gun. But you could get that weird alien gun.
you forgor the pool stick hahahhaha
Calmest guy I ever seen.
Correction: *Half Life... but as Barney **#2828834797*
Barney becoming uncanny...
If I’m not wrong, we’ve never once seen the inside of the living complexes for the employees of Black Mesa.
That "thing" in the water is an Archer, a cut alien from Half-Life.
Heh... I remember this mod. I remember the most that you do a lot of walking from A to B in it, so I put it in C tier. Still worth playing, but bring some patience and an extra set of boots.
This video still holds up
i haven't watch you in soo long time
