The S20 trade in takes $700 off for the S21 along with free air buds, smart tag, $200 in store credit and a month free of youtube premium... Next year will be the same. So to me it's a better deal
I hate that they don't have a smaller version. I have the S10e, and love the aize. Fits perfectly in the pocket and easy to use with one hand. I was hoping they wod bring back a more compact version. Nope.
He seriously just said the cameras were the most important to most people? Im pretty sure battery life, display & performance are more important than the cameras for most people
You would be surprise lol that's why my friend has iPhone because of the camera LOL, but Samsung is definitely going to eventually overpass iPhone in camera quality. iPhones don't truly upgrade. They stay the same.
@@PoeticComments i wouldn’t say they stay the same, the camera processing and software have come alone way with smart HDR and pretty much every year they lower the apperature allowing for better low light photography
Nowadays is no more about ecosystem, now is about being productive and o all these years of using iPhones I realize that iPhone is for mall shopping and Samsung is for entrepreneur people .
I've always been Android fan and been using Samsung flafmans for 10-ish years now, but what no one is saying is what happens to Samsung battery after year and a half of intense using (which is why you're buying flagmans). Every single time 18-19 months into using the phone there's a drastic decreasment of performens in the battery and the processor, which really compromises the overall efficiency. And I know I'm a heavy user, but that's why I'm paying more - to get better performance. I know everyone is all about "the best camera" these days, but this is a smartphone, not a DSLR, sooo... Yeah. This time iOs won in my case. I just bought iPhone 12 and the last iPhone I had was 3Gs, so it's been a while. Samsung was managing to allure me with better pricing for more features for over a decade, but I'm sick of being frustrated after using the phone for over a year.
I carry both phones. Ip12 for work and Samsung for personal. The absolute biggest miss on the iPhone is no fingerprint sensor. Face ID is useless in the time of COVID. It’s such a pain to have to unlock the iPhone every time.
Last I read something like 80-85% of people use a case or skin on their phones, plastic back makes sense. Easier to repair, cheaper to repair, more durable when dropped etc. Glass on the backs of phones was always a dumb idea, was just done to justify a price hike.
True. I got a clear, silicone bumper case on my s21 so I can still enjoy the the color along with a tempered glass screen protector. At that, the weight compares to my s7 edge since they are so close in size. The fact the back is plastic shouldn't bother anyone, but there's always "those ones", lol.
This is what I’m waiting for too! I’m guessing they aren’t allowed to upload them yet because I haven’t seen any. Only the Ultra v Pro Max which isn’t what I’m looking for
Thanks for such useful review without unnecessary details or monotonous and useless recital of specs. It is important to know how device perform in real life: battery, camera and overall performance. High mAh on paper means nothing if chipset is bad or overall configuration of a device.
iPhone has been lacking on actual pictures in normal to bright light, video on the other hand does definitely go to iPhone in my opinion. So I don't agree with you on that.
Even though "people" are saying the S21 is a disappointment compared to the S20, after watching this video I still have no desire to switch to the iphone. I have always been a galaxy user and will continue to be. Haven't decided if I want to upgrade from the S20 to the S21 though.
I really don't get this fixation on glass. These people talk about glass like it's fucking diamond. "Premium material" what a load of crap. A material that's easy to scratch, break is premium what load of rubbish. These are just marketing jargons. Devices should be well built, and that's it. That S21 is pretty well built and can definitely handle beating more than that glass iphone. Have you ever handled glass made items in your home and your mom says be careful with those, because it's fragile. Congratulations that's your phone.
What are you doing on your iPhone that you are barely getting through a day? I use around 50% without even thinking about it. On a tough day I might hit 30% but never more.
basically, if you are not tied to any eco system, go for the s21 bc its more bang for your buck + prices are dropping. however, if you are already in the apple ecosystem, have an apple watch or use imessage, then dont bother switching cause you'll find it a pain. unless you prefer a phone with high resale value in the long run, s21 is a better option
Hey Karl just wanted appreciate all the time and effort you put into these videos because I love watching them, also if you were to choose between these two devices right now which one would you choose ? ( as a daily driver) If I personally had to choose between these two phones : I would use iPhone over the S21 because of the cameras, I’m a big fan of mobile photography and the iPhone does it the best here , I also feel like a lot of people would choose iPhone just cause it’s an iPhone it has that extra cool factor to it (*Apple fan boys) and other reasons maybe that you’re into the iOS software !
I switched from iPhone 12 pro to s21. IPhone overheated most of the time, battery drained super fast. I hated the fact that I could not organize apps the way I wanted. S21 better battery, I forget to charge my phone and 50% lasts me until I get home. Everyone seems to love iPhone, I personally go for performance and battery life.
Just tried using an iPhone again... Nope... Nope nope... Nope. Nice looking phone, but useless and too many drawbacks. Why did they remove battery percentage on the notification bar?? It easily fits, can even have the number inside the battery icon.. Naw they want you to use a widget for that, or swipe down to see the battery percentage.. the hell? It's little things like this that add up to a nightmare.
One thing people are not talking enough of is the reliability of an iPhone. For instance a lot of s21 users are complaining that they get the green line after updating, and they have to change screen after updating I mean that's crazy considering the amount of cash spent
I have the s12 ultra but this video showed me how close apple and Samsung are on performance and it is just what you want in a phone these days not what one is better or worse
I have an iPhone 11 and I love it, but I’m upgrading in 2023 or 2024 or likely as far away as possible- is the Samsung worth living with and working with my AirPods, iPad, etc.?
It depends on what you like in a phone and what you use it for I had the s9 and also the iPhone 7 but the only reason I went for the 12 is because in my opinion it’s very close to and android and etc. Like for example I love the I messaging and business wise using the airdrop playing games with my friends on I messenger it just depends on what u like but I’ve always keep an Android as well but I found myself using my 12 more since I’ve gotten it before when I had the 7 I always would jump back to the android and be on that phone more but since my upgrade while using the iPhone 12 I’m getting a bit of android feel from it..like this display is bright and vibrant like the Samsung also the blacks are very deep like the Samsung and etc. the only thing I don’t like is the camera kind of seems like it’s more of a filter look in pics then my Samsung my Samsung pics have more of the natural tones when I take pictures..note: also the resale value always be higher than Samsung phones
Very well done and excellent work being completely fair. I'm very opinionated about smartphone tech, and at several points I thought I'd have an objection, but by the end of the video I feel your assessment was fair.

Had a Galaxy back in the day but it was plagued with issues. Returned it for a 4s. The 4s was god-tier. Then upgraded to a 6s. Wasn't impressed with the build quality, but it worked as Apple products always do. Super stable. Replaced it eventually with a Galaxy S9+ as I wasn't happy with the direction Apple was going. Huge points for expandable storage and a headphone jack. The S9+ started developing serious issues that cost me thousands of dollars in self-employment income. Neat. Decided I'd switch back to iOS again. After all, Apple products are stable. I've had the 12 Mini for a few days now. Reminds me of my beloved 4s. However, I miss the customizability and features of Android. Also pissed I don't even get a damn charger. Wonder if I should return it and switch back to another Galaxy and found this video. Looks like I'll be unhappy either way. Samsung is just following in Apple's footsteps, and that's been a consistently bad thing ever since Jobs died. Ugh.

Now my iPhone 11 got water damaged. I grew fond of iMessage. Truthfully, that's the only thing apple has over Samsung. I was debating on what to get. Honestly, the S7 Edge was trash. It would always freeze. The Notes had always been the best product Samsung had, but now Samsung has a variety of great phones, from the flips to the notes to the S's. I'm going to miss iMessage but I'm getting my money worth with Samsung! The S21 is so pretty too!

The S20 trade in takes $700 off for the S21 along with free air buds, smart tag, $200 in store credit and a month free of youtube premium... Next year will be the same. So to me it's a better deal
@@blackice51374 but the S20 is a better phone imo
@@blackice51374 how are you getting the $200 credit
Love the fact that Samsung went back to the flat screen! Very happy with my new S21.
I hate that they don't have a smaller version. I have the S10e, and love the aize. Fits perfectly in the pocket and easy to use with one hand. I was hoping they wod bring back a more compact version. Nope.
I’m upgrading my iPhone 6s form 2015 to the S21, my iPhone lasted me almost 7 years let’s find out how long does the Samsung last
I have samsung s7 from 5 years right now ;)
@@l_costa10 I had the s7 edge in the past, it was my favourite phone of all the phones I bought. ( but I disliked the curved screen aka edge.^^)
He seriously just said the cameras were the most important to most people? Im pretty sure battery life, display & performance are more important than the cameras for most people
If the camera is the most important thing, buy a camera! 😂
TH-camrs are so out of touch fam
You would be surprise lol that's why my friend has iPhone because of the camera LOL, but Samsung is definitely going to eventually overpass iPhone in camera quality. iPhones don't truly upgrade. They stay the same.
@@PoeticComments i wouldn’t say they stay the same, the camera processing and software have come alone way with smart HDR and pretty much every year they lower the apperature allowing for better low light photography
It's the fact tho. In the world of social media, ppl focus more on camera now while choosing a smartphone. Like seriously...
I'm okay with the plastic long as it don't crack I'm still getting a protector case 4 it
In my country both are in $1000 because of taxes :(
I carry both phones.
Can we have a detailed camera comparison between both these devices, like wide , night time, and portrait stuff
Look at Unbox Therapy's video, it a good comparison.
@@CelVanDenDaele i agree. Must watch 100% honest
Unbox Theory had a great breakdown
Thanks folks❤️
This is what I’m waiting for too! I’m guessing they aren’t allowed to upload them yet because I haven’t seen any. Only the Ultra v Pro Max which isn’t what I’m looking for
Awesome video, clear, straight forward, and not boring.. keep it up brother
S21 is a better choice. Nice comparison as always, Karl.
The costs to replace a plastic back is as little as a case.
You are really good! I hope you reach your 1st million subscribers soon
@Maanav Khurana I love samsung one ui.
I have the s20 I went ahead and ordered the 21 in purple lol. YOLO lol
I have been using Android since 2012. Before that period 2009-2011 I had Blackberry. I have never had an iPhone.
The s21 looks a lot better than the iPhone even tho it is plastic 😂
Glass is overrated AF
@@knightahmos8636 absolutely
tbh plastic is morr durable than glass and glass is glass, and glass breaks
I really don't get this fixation on glass. These people talk about glass like it's fucking diamond. "Premium material" what a load of crap. A material that's easy to scratch, break is premium what load of rubbish. These are just marketing jargons. Devices should be well built, and that's it. That S21 is pretty well built and can definitely handle beating more than that glass iphone. Have you ever handled glass made items in your home and your mom says be careful with those, because it's fragile. Congratulations that's your phone.
Why would you have 'Which is BETTER' in the title when you don't give your opinion on which is better?
To avoid wrath youtubers: it comes down to personal preference!
Me: There can't be 2 Kings!

I read your comment the same time the King St photo was on the video
@@qj9673 i might sound offensive when i answer that question...id rather hold my peace!
So we aren't going to mention Samsung DeX or reverse wireless charging?
( as a daily driver)
If I personally had to choose between these two phones : I would use iPhone over the S21 because of the cameras, I’m a big fan of mobile photography and the iPhone does it the best here , I also feel like a lot of people would choose iPhone just cause it’s an iPhone it has that extra cool factor to it (*Apple fan boys) and other reasons maybe that you’re into the iOS software !
The camera in s21 is better
I switched from iPhone 12 pro to s21. IPhone overheated most of the time, battery drained super fast. I hated the fact that I could not organize apps the way I wanted.
S21 better battery, I forget to charge my phone and 50% lasts me until I get home. Everyone seems to love iPhone, I personally go for performance and battery life.
Wow, i want to get a s21 and wanted an opinion on the battery, thx
@@defnotmocha8177 From iPhone 12 and s21 then s21 is your best for battery life.
Really i like the poly back. Its lighter and regardless the material most would put case on it
Real guys rock that Phantom violet s21
Got mine & it is lit🔥🔥🔥 #PurpleRainPrinceVibes🌦
Just tried using an iPhone again... Nope... Nope nope... Nope. Nice looking phone, but useless and too many drawbacks. Why did they remove battery percentage on the notification bar?? It easily fits, can even have the number inside the battery icon.. Naw they want you to use a widget for that, or swipe down to see the battery percentage.. the hell? It's little things like this that add up to a nightmare.
Good joke lol
Great vid.. I just got the S21+ with a $800 trade in for my Note 9. Great deal. Great phone
Idk why but the Samsung is drawing me closer than the iPhone. What would you go for?? Love the video Karl much love from Trinidad ❤❤❤
I will go for the Samsung galaxy S21 since I already have an iPhone 11 going to switch back to android again like I do every year
Since you’re using snapchat, you better go for iphone for clear pictures using that app.
Agreed. I’ve always been an apple user but when Samsung released s21 I am so tempted to order one.
🇹🇹
ordered 256gb s21
Hopefully coming to Toronto this summer since we weren’t able to go last year 🇨🇦
Safe trip! Hope you can make it
Glass back vs plastic back doesn't feel any difference. As long the frame still aluminium/metal phone still feel premium even plastic back
Great and honest review. I am now deciding which one to buy.
One thing people are not talking enough of is the reliability of an iPhone. For instance a lot of s21 users are complaining that they get the green line after updating, and they have to change screen after updating I mean that's crazy considering the amount of cash spent
Have my S21 Ultra, loving it!
I have the s12 ultra but this video showed me how close apple and Samsung are on performance and it is just what you want in a phone these days not what one is better or worse
I like samsung design this year😍
1:25 - "The S21 is the first Flagship device that is now in plastic..."
Ahmmm, what about Note 20? Ever heard of it?
Love the LEGO in the background
thanks! Love collecting/building
I have an iPhone 11 and I love it, but I’m upgrading in 2023 or 2024 or likely as far away as possible- is the Samsung worth living with and working with my AirPods, iPad, etc.?
I’ve been dreading this moment as I’ve just switched from android to my first ever iPhone, the iPhone 12. Did I make a mistake?
I don't think so. Enjoy iOS!
U did made it unfortunately without 120hz display...
@@noor4ni 120hz is really only for tech ppl, the s21 does have a 1080p display ...
@@harjapaulakh4424 the average person will notice the 120hz far more than the 1080p. The S21 still has a decent ppi.
I'm very opinionated about smartphone tech, and at several points I thought I'd have an objection, but by the end of the video I feel your assessment was fair.
iPhone 12 for me. Performance and Software are greater than Raw specs
Same
oh you mean the performance that turns into 855 when it throttles?
@@xers8719 only geeks obsessed with numbers are worried with that. I just want a phone that processes normal tasks quick, up to date, good camera and support, renders videos quick etc

How - the video is 8 minutes long, and this comment is 5 minutes old
And the video is 4 minutes old
plastic back is good. It costs as less as a case. easy to replace it. don't need to put case on
I've got uk s21 256gb and it's come with a factory fitted screen protector. Apparently it'd only euro models that do.
It's fitted so well I didn't realise until I tried to put another screen protector on.
Oh dear. If I remember correctly the UK Samsung phones do not get them with snapdragon chipsets. It’s just the exynos chipsets there. They don’t exactly perform as well as the snapdragon chips. The only thing they tend to do better at is battery life
The iPhone has a better display. It has True Tone, Dolby Vision HDR (as well as HDR10) and it's brighter with higher PPI.
Ugh.
Don’t switch. iOS is far more stable still than android. I know it’s tempting but sooner or later you’ll regret it like I did.
Know a ton of good charger brands like U-green and others that have chargers that could charge your phone in an hour.
@@gellenonim7672you are juste àn iphone fanboy
Hows the Snap camera on the S21? Has it improved at all?
64gb on a flagship phone ? It's literally a crime
I've been a Samsung user for a long time, I've had the note 4, S7 Edge, note 8. After my Note 8 I wanted something smaller and simpler, that's when i switch to iPhone 11. The S21 is so pretty too!
i would buy an iphone once they allow me to change those boxy icons, they get rid of the notch, and get a high refresh rate screen!
so basically a S21 ... THEN BUY A S21
I have one in fact, but I use Instagram a lot and unfortunately only Iphones are optimised for IG stories
I'm always using Samsung and I'm satisfied and happy so far (im not into using other brands )
iOS is kinda cool for users
But unfortunately APPLE phones, Ipads, macbooks are too much expensive in my country Iran =(
hope oneday can get and use apple 12 specially for the camera
I've tried both. The only good thing apple has over samsung is imessage! I love imessage but other than that Samsung is superior to me. As for the camera, i think they are both great!
Thanks for the comparison
which one to buy ? i12 or s21 or oneplus 9 ??

Didn't samsung say on unpacked that the camera will work much better on socials now?
Yes but there are still some software updates to be installed on the phone.
I would definitely go with the iPhone 12 unlike the big boys which i would 100% go for the Samsung S21 Ultra AKA The Beast.
Agreed Base model I would go with Iphone if you want a big phone go with the S21 Ultra
This plastic isn't usual. It's light and firm. Look nice actually. + no fingerprint on it, whereas iPhone's surface looks 'dirty'.
