That huge notch in 2021 is disgusting! And only 64GB storage in 2021?! Plus the 64GB iPhone 12 is at $800 (overpriced as always) and the 256GB S21 is at $699. I'm totally getting an S21 this year! @@toluwanioni6534 This is true. I have 2 phones - a Galaxy S20+ & a Galaxy S9. I got updates on both consistently, however my Galaxy S20+ did get One UI 3 first. This is okay though because Samsung recently announced that Samsung phones will get 4 years of updates.
They have the notch lol. I’m sure this year they’ll say “The first iPhone ever with edge to edge screen and 90Hz display, never before in the history”.
Great job I chose the galaxy and I have been on ios, but watching all the reviews brought me over and now I am galaxy for life. I can't believe how amazing Android is. Thanks
And they might just add that during the course of the phones life. They just added support for 3 years even for phones like the s10. So they may end up doing 4 years for their phones down the line
More importantly, Samsung needs to speed up their update timeline. Note 10 which is one year old still doesn’t have Android 11. To me, that’s slow for a flagship phone.

I was a Windows Phone user i really did love live tiles so i got them back without custom ROMs or anything. So i have an ultra minimal setup and a lavish live tile setup and I'll probably download an iOS launcher just for the fun of it.
Ikr, how you finna charge 799 for a 64GB skew with no charger in 2021? It should be 128 minimum if there's no expandable storage imo, especially since one of the features of the iphone is 4k video.
Apple is getting really irritating with offering under-specced baseline models. It's definitely eroding my trust in Apple to provide me with a device that isn't going to bottleneck with ordinary use.
Samsung did a great job this year. I was very tempted to get an iphone 12 because Apple kept the top tier processor in the least expensive phone. Coming from an S10+ and a 3yr old pair of JBL wireless earbuds, the S21 and Buds Pro only set me back $270 (after $100 Samsung credit and $680 in trade in value).
8:11-8:25 I'm a Samsung boy, literally typing this from a launch Note20U, and that segment of video comparison is embarrassing for Samsung imo. While the stabilization is very good the iPhone is clearly better, not to mention it isn't stuttering the way the galaxy is.
I am getting $550 for my S10 ! Woohoo! and got $150 in store credits so I bought three cases and a sterilizer. My husband got the same deal with the trade-in and got one case and one of their earbuds. What a deal!
Traded my s10plus which I got new for 550 and am getting 550 back for. If say thats a good deal as I doubt id get that much for it used. Plus I'm getting 250 samsung credit. My phone arrives tomorrow and I can't wait
Android needs to correctly optimize the camera for social media apps and iOS needs 120hz with a smaller notch. Then they'd both be pretty close with some other differences that come down to preference.
If you want to use a glass screen protector on the S21, you'll need to enable increased touch screen sensitivity in order for the fingerprint reader to work.
You are not considering the fact that Apple products hold their value better compared to the competition. Andriod flagship phones lose 40-60% of their value in the first year compared to Apple which lies in the 20-30% range. Again I am not saying iPhone is better than galaxy or ios is better than Android, just making a point on resale value

Can't understand why iphone start 64g storage space, it's liked 2010. Always love Samsung for their " more " attitudes. More rams more storages more cameras more innovations for less money.
For iPhone I have 64gb storage 11 pro and I am still only using 50% of the storage. It has a good software support for offloading pics and programs you don’t use in order to keep storage in the green. The only downside is if you do a lot of 4K video and in that case you would want the pro max and better storage options.
I agree with the ROM part ... But iOS don't need more RAM to operate unlike Android(because of the garbage collection, More RAM gets used in Android .. so they need more RAM to pull it off)
@@grymrammsolkbyrt6203 i mean iPhone's are known for their excellent 4k videos so yeah, everyone who buys one must use that but 64gb starting storage is just insulting in 2021 tbh.
I’m swapping from an iPhone 12 to an S21. I love this iPhone but there are some REALLY bad cons I have with it. Wifi calling doesn’t work AT ALL on the T-Mobile version, dead zones on the touch screen that become unresponsive. Massive lag here and there. Cell service dead spots where I had service with my One Plus 7 Pro. Those are the biggest. Then there are little software annoyances like Apple Music starting and playing music on it’s when connecting to the BT in my car lol Can’t wait to get back to Android. This was a fun experiment but iOS just still isn’t good enough for me from a functionality standpoint.
I had similar with my iPhone 12 mini overheating and screen dimming when outdoors in sunshine ... piece of overpriced crap. Gone back to my OnePlus 7 Pro until the 12 mini is sold then upgrading to a S21
@@paineys3341 YES THATS ANOTHER CON. One that’s I despise so much. I had no idea what was going on until I googled it. So stupid to dim the screen just because the phone is getting hot. I’ve owned tons of OLED screen phones and have never once experienced this.
Honestly, phones are so similar these days. Spec Benchmarks, screen size, camera pixels. Unless you doing side by side comparisons it’s impossible to notice. It’s now really which OS you are most invested in. The only way one would move to Android from iOS if you really need an S-pen, folding screen or whatever strange thing LG is doing. Even then, I tried and went back.
Depends also how much money you are willing to spend. With $200 you can get an Android phone that does 95% of what you need phone for, maybe more. I had every Iphone till they started removing everything from the box, could't also handle having to pay for migre fast charger after spending over $1000. The other things you can get in Android are; SECOND SPACE, the most valuable feature on any phone ( only Hauwie and Xiaomi) give you that. Having been an iPhone user for the last 10 years and finally getting the s21 I'm realising I had my loyalty completely misplaced I only got it as my partner had pesuaded me to try it out and it's probably the best phone I have I ever owned coming off the back of an iPhone 11 Pro max.
Congrats on your new s21 . And yeah apple needs to step up their game . I don't think people are still going to continue buying iPhone just for a premium feel .
Nice choice man I also was a iPhone user I'm whole life until I realized apple is very outdated with everything so I switched to samsung and it was the best choice I ever made.
LOL I joined the same club, I just bought an S21 I've been an Iphone user since the beginning, my distaste for apple started with the XR having issues the final straw is with my 11. Ended up with ghost touch a year into having the 11 of course its not under warranty the touch module replacement is going to cost 300 bucks. Apple can ram it where the sun don't shine, playing with the S21 its smoother, seem to be customizable. LED screens seem to bother my eyes I've tried the apple pro series in the store instant eye irritation, little worried about the S21 no issues. I'm done with Iphones in the for seeable future.
@@Graveltrucking still loving the s21, battery life is amazing whereas I found myself topping up the battery on my iPhone sometimes twice a day, I like how smooth the phone operates even with a lot of background apps operational and it still feels premium even though they opted for plastic on the back still has that weight to it and I don't have to worry about cracking both sides which Is always nice, the cameras are amazing especially for video. The sound quality also amazing and with the free galaxy buds and galaxy tag for people who pre-ordered is an amazing promotion and once again the sound quality is great. One minor note was the rubber earpieces I find the bigger ones that came in the box more comfortable but the case doesn't close when they're on but I've just used the smaller ones and not really had any uncomfortability problems.

And judging by the fact that iPhones out sale Samsung’s consistently in the US I’d say a lot of people feel the same way. But honestly, who cares? Jamie can't argue with you on that out come, Apple better wake up if Samsung Samsung Exynos and AMD pull off their chip, it's going to be lights out for apple and the rest.

It’s a fair review and in keeping with Samsung and Apple release schedule. Samsung wins beginning of the year, then Apple at the end after their release.
I'm enjoying that in the last 2 generations Samsungs have been getting more durable and have been enjoying faster app opening times and game loading times than the same year iphones. So much for silicon, eh?? Hehe. But to be honest most of all I enjoy that the S21 ultra is more beautiful than the 12 pro max for the first time ever. Samsung took their camera array to a whole new level and I cant thank them enough for styling the phone with accessories like the S-Pen and the S View Flip Case WITH S-Pen integration into the case. Samsung stepped up to the plate and im hoping some people begin considering to switch over.
iPhone is like a Charger Hellcat, you're paying a lot of money for the engine but it's dated and been the same for like 4 years and the s21 is like an S class s63 amg, you get the complete package

@@GTAandApplechannel Yeah, aka beautifying. Apparently the iPhone is smoothening his skin (which should be a Samsung thing as reviewers keep saying). It doesn't matter whatever they call it.
I agree with everything in this video. Price, cameras, esthetics and improvements in battery efficiently make this s21 a great deal!I really like everything about it but the software. Even though One UI is getting cleaner, it’s still too packed with things 95% will never use. Apple is headed in a good direction with their software. It’s becoming more versatile while staying quite simple.
I love iPhones, and I'll admit the screen, camera, among other features, are better than the iPhone. Theres just something about the iPhone that just.. feels better. The software, the battery life, the available accessories and how well they work together. It all just feels like a more complete, reliable package to me.
I used to think that until I got a iPhone 12 mini 3 months ago, what a load of crap, overheats and screen dims so much you can't see it in sunlight. This happens on any warm sunny day (in the UK so not hot), even happened indoors when reading the news! Its up for sell now and will be replaced with a S21!
My Note 8 snapped after 3 years and out of curiosity I bought my first iPhone in my entire life and now I’m binge-watching a bunch of these S21 videos on my i11 knowing that I can’t return to Android any time soon 😂🥲
It really doesn't make any difference to be honest. It's just a preference on if you want a android or iphone eco system. If you like play store or app store. To be honest I owned the iphone 12 pro and the battery life was terrible. You are not missing anything just because it's a android and not a iphone.
Aside from shorter battery life, the iPhone 12 pro seems alright for video, photos, 5G connectivity, and call quality. And if you don't mind a bigger phone, the iPhone 12 pro max has good battery life. But other phones look slightly better to me, tbh, and I hate that Apple is in bed with China's Communist Party, and makes almost all their stuff in China. I also hate that Apple does scummy things like soldering RAM and storage onto motherboards so users can't upgrade, and there's a certain smugness to Apple that is irritating me more and more, the more I learn about Apple. I like IOS and security, or I wouldn't even think of getting an iPhone, and my current mood is to buy used so that I don't give any money to the Communist Party of Apple.
@@TheJustinboodram I'm just an obsessive researcher, and don't own the phone, but from what I gather based on reading about a 100 articles and watching about 40 videos, the 12 pro max has excellent battery life, while the 12 pro is OK, but not as good as the 11 pro. If you are only picking between iPhones, the 12 pro max blows all the others away, if you don't mind it's huge size. I hate OLED screens, but if you are OK with them, I won't get into that.
There are no cut and dried winners or losers in this. If you're team iOS, the iPhone 12 is great. If you're team Android, the S21 is pretty much what "commoners" consider to BE Android. I have a personal Note 10+ in one pocket, and an iPhone 12 work phone in the other. The one thing that NO Android phone I've ever used can touch is the standby time on iPhone. I bring the thing home Friday night, barely touch it until work on Monday, and still have a solid 65% battery. The Note loses a good 20% overnight (6-7 hours) doing nothing. I've had few Android phones that were any better, without resorting to shutting down radios/going airplane mode/powering it off entirely. I've been team Android since day one, but Apple has come a long way. And in the years since I stopped flashing custom ROMs (because bricking a $1500 phone today when goofing around for funsies isn't fun for me and unlocked bootloaders are hard to find anymore) some of what always appealed to me about Android has faded. Although Apple STILL not letting you set non-Apple default apps for almost everything is insanity. It was actually THE factor that kept me from switching to iPhone when I got the Note 10+. Maybe next upgrade. Anyway, ramblings aside, they're both solid phones. Choose what you like and you really can't go wrong.
From being an apple fan boy to a wiser man who chose galaxy.. it took me 3 years. The only concern I had was security but with Samsung Knox , i know nobody can beat it.
Why do people give points for wider angle during portraits, isn’t the whole point to give the more natural look from zooming in? Does zoom work in portrait selfie? If so I guess you have an option
I owned 4 Android phones in the past and I gave Apple a chance in 2016 and will stick to Apple because of software. Androids could build phones with highend hardware specs and so on but at the end of the day, it’s all about software and that’s where Apple never fails because I remember having problems with Androids Software when it comes to slowing down after a month and lag.
i use a Note 9. Software is fine. Hasn't lag since I got it. How do you use software until it reaches that limit? or did you use Android phones prior to UFS storage system being an industry standard? Can't expect much from a low-mid range phones tbh. In that comparison, it's unfair to even compare.
Im here because I bought the iphone 12 last November on ATT's free 12 with upgrade program. Overall happy with it. Camera and speakers are solid. Bought otterbox defender case. Dropped it off my table and landed on its back and shattered the glass. Other than some funky laser videos, it is almost impossible to replace the back as most things are mounted to the back of the iPhone. Apple is saying about $600 repair for back glass Reason why its so difficult even for Apple - per Apple - the MagSafe adhesive to the class. Per Apple: The GG is a higher density, but the MagSafe causes the back glass to handle more weight and is less pliable, thus actually breaks easier. At the same time the redesign with the MagSafe makes it extremely difficult to replace the back glass. Their program actually replaces most of the phone. So I get to walk around with a cracked phone for another year. Never cracked a phone before. Yep, its on me. But its aggravating, so contemplating heading back to Android. Good video!!!
@@khazanamithai2878 my guess making it up otherwise they just have too much money to throw around. I don’t know many who would upgrade from a $800 2 month old phone to a $1200 phone.

Samsung should create a subsidiary division that focuses on the A series and the main should focus on the Galaxy series. Giving 4 years (at least) of software updates and they’ll be set for couple of generations. Their phones are good but they focuses on too many with too little time. Make them phone feels exclusive again.
I will never understand who thought a glass back on a phone was a good idea?! It should be plastic or metal. I prefer plastic over glass. Plus it's going to be on a case anyway, so it doesn't matter much, although glass can still break easier even on a case. But Samsung made the plastic look so premium! So glad they didn't go with glass.
Apple has always had the mentality, Aesthetics over practicality in Tech. They also sell it as a luxury item, therefore, glass back, nicer to look at, even though i assume 90% of people buying phones, ALWAYS get back covers.
@@sonofage Glass backs are both heavier and more fragile. Never understood the all the hoopla about glass being more "premium". To me, premium is what works better, but at any rate, I always put a case on my phone anyway, so 5 minutes after it's out of the box they all "feel" the same.
I think video also goes to Samsung, I mean didn't anyone else notice how front video just wouldn't focus after moving the phone? To go even further, people equate updates on iOS to updates on Android, when in reality they're pretty different. Android is more modular, where many parts of the system have been extracted into separate apps that update through the play store. The OEM updates are just for big updates or some system fixes. On iOS, all of the system apps require a whole system update, which is why iOS users should actually care that much about updates. Their apps rely on whole system updates, while Androids can update core apps separately
No expandable storage? It's basically an android iPhone. Deal breaker. Plastic build, only 1080p, and no charger and headphones included in the name of 'saving the environment' (which is complete bullshit) is also unfortunate. I wanted to upgrade from my S10 but I think I'll wait. Die hard samsheep can keep trying to justify it but you're just playing into their hands. They'll just keep cutting features. Unbiased review. Apple need to step up. 64gb in 2021 for real?
Ikr, how you finna charge 799 for a 64GB skew with no charger in 2021? It should be 128 minimum if there's no expandable storage imo, especially since one of the features of the iphone is 4k video.

Apple is getting really irritating with offering under-specced baseline models. It's definitely eroding my trust in Apple to provide me with a device that isn't going to bottleneck with ordinary use.
I thought their iPhone 12 lineup starts at 128gb now?
Samsung did a great job this year. I was very tempted to get an iphone 12 because Apple kept the top tier processor in the least expensive phone. Coming from an S10+ and a 3yr old pair of JBL wireless earbuds, the S21 and Buds Pro only set me back $270 (after $100 Samsung credit and $680 in trade in value).
Looks like the s21 has better stabilization.
You can't get tech reviewers to see that
Really? I see a lot of stutters on the rear camera video from the Galaxy and then the same on the front camera video for the iPhone
Is better!
Alot better!!!!

I'm a Samsung boy, literally typing this from a launch Note20U, and that segment of video comparison is embarrassing for Samsung imo. While the stabilization is very good the iPhone is clearly better, not to mention it isn't stuttering the way the galaxy is.
I definitely prefer the Samsung's video over the iPhone. Mainly because the iPhone definitely has some exposure defects which can clearly be seen...

Android needs to correctly optimize the camera for social media apps and iOS needs 120hz with a smaller notch. Then they'd both be pretty close with some other differences that come down to preference.

Can't understand why iphone start 64g storage space, it's liked 2010. Always love Samsung for their " more " attitudes. More rams more storages more cameras more innovations for less money.
I agree. Same here!

Then there are little software annoyances like Apple Music starting and playing music on it’s when connecting to the BT in my car lol

I'll be watching videos like this all day as if i can afford any of these smartphones lol. Great comparison though.
Galaxy S21 FTW! Video is also improved...
From being an apple fan boy to a wiser man who chose galaxy.. it took me 3 years. The only concern I had was security but with Samsung Knox , i know nobody can beat it.

Vote with your wallet. Don't allow them to take things away with each newer product
Since I've given you some criticism on previous vids, I gotta say it's the first video including the S21 that I feel you're being objective finally.
What many of the phone reviews don't say is, how shitty these phones become in a couple of years and no one will be talking about them by then. Do you ever the mention how the people who makes these phones stop updating their security features and software updates? Nope. Many who watch don't have the cash to buy a phone every 1 year.
Good point Kevin.
Are iPhones like this too? I’ve seen my friends have their iPhones last them about 3 to 4 years atleast
@@mayurgianchandani1184 apple tend to slow down older iPhones so the users can buy a newer one
@@blackice51374 omg you lot of idiots still exist -_- like literally how many times people have come and explained in comments and even youtubers did
They didn’t throttle the phones to make you buy new phones!!! They did it to conserve battery utilization so it would degrade slower and keep up similar level of battery capacity even after few years
and this only happened with older iPhones like 6, 6S and 7
this was a good thing they did if you had any brains but you don’t
I am not sure what you are on about??? iPhones get updates up to 4-5 years, Android phones generally range from 1-2 years but few companies are gearing to provide up to 3 years like Google
I love your reviews. you see the good in both of the phones, and you don’t put down one side to make the other shine.
Both are best for their funs. ..period
I actually love both these phones and whoever buys them will have brilliant devices.
Wow, Samsung's really fixed their skin smoothing issues on the selfie cam for the S21 series. I agree that they do now look more accurate and sharper than the iPhones. Ironically Apple is now going for that babyface, warm and saturated look.
Samsung :
1. Very small notch
2. 120hz Rr
3. Indisplay fS
4. Usb type C
5. Reverse wireless charging
6. Android has btr overall features
7. Split screen (yes I use it a lot )
yessss!!!..Mines is on the way S21 RULES!!!!!
