Thanks. I learned how to use this by watching you. This seems to still be one of the best budget models in 2024. I dont see any current videos on this subject
I just had my first gig experience with this pedal and I liked it. I upgraded from a POD HD 300. I played it through a PA with good dynamics and clarity.
Cool solution for a no fuss band rehearsals “on-the-go” haha. In regards to that, wonder if you could make a comparison of the ge line straight to power amp / fx return with a real cab?
Just got one of these today, and after a little frustration setting up the PC stuff and adding 3rd party IRs .. it sounded really nice.. if you want metal and rock tones these are just great... if you want fender tones I say you need a Kemper... I had a Kemper and it was fantastic but couldn't justify keeping it in the end, although I did keep it for about 3 or so years... the stock cabs and patches are definitely ok on the 150, the 2 IRs that i added made a difference yes, but I am not so sure how much difference,...of course, the Keper is Amazing at rock and metal also.. amazing
Great introduction. One thing I don't like about it is switching between different patches - it has a tad of interruption to the signal (a few milliseconds) and that is really annoying.
@@TaylorDanley It's funny because I was going through the Amp models and that one jumped out at me..and then I scrolled through the other high gain ones which I hoped would be close to as good and sadly most of them didn't come close..This was before I saw your video..lol
Cool dude. just have to add that I have the GE 150 and you can load custom IR's with the desktop software and yes, the tone gets a lot better. You should test it out 👍
Question: Could I used the two 1/4 outputs on the GE150 directly into the balanced 1/4 inputs of the Donner studio monitors speakers you reviewed on July 29, 2021? (Don't need the audio interface as I don't want/need to go through computer) Basically, I don't have a guitar amp with a standard "send-Receive" pedal input so I was looking for a way to play the GE150 through a set of speakers. My amp (katana 50 mkII) does have a power amp input but the GE150 manual suggest to turn off "cab" when using such a setup. But I'd like to be able to use the different cab on the GE150. Any help would be appreciated.
I totally agree with the SLO 412 being one of the best in their list. I had been running a Mooer Black Knight mini preamp into my Orange Pedal Baby with fantastic results for live shows. Now that I have the GE 150, a whole new world of possibilities has opened up. It feels like you can get much more punch by having a Master volume on the GE 150 as well as the volume controls on the amp sims within the unit. I'm going to have to find a Blackmore IR like you mention in the vid. Keep on rocking and stay metal!
Bought one of these from a place to resells Amazon returns. This thing is brand new and I honestly didn’t know what I was really buying quality wise. I paid $50 for it so I think I can say I walked away with a good deal
I've owned and tested, in multiple live situations, all of the different versions of this firmware build (for example, the Mooer GE150 is an exact clone, but with a plastic housing). They all would be outstanding units, were it not for a couple of fatal, deal-breaking flaws that I've had the displeasure of experiencing while in live use. So, yeah...NOT good. The first problem I encountered was that, randomly, on some but not all banks where you build your own preset, the modulation effect will reset itself to maximum level, no matter where you set it when you built the preset. Yeah,I know. Weird! And their support team didn't know how to fix it. Again (let's see if I can explain this better): if you set up a preset with a modulation effect (flanger, let's say), and you set the level to "5", and saved it, here's what might happen on some (butagain, not all) banks -- you'll turn off the unit, and then, when you turn it back on, the level on the flanger for that preset will reset itself to a level of "10". Have you ever hit a pedal in a live performance and had one of the values you thought you set to your preference be COMPLETELY out of whack? Yeah, it sucks. The second problem I've found is that the expression pedal can NOT be reliably set to any other values than the default of: Min=0%, Max=100%. This sucks because I, personally, lie to set my volume pedals to Min=50%, Max=100%, so that I have a set rhythm volume (Min) and a set lead volume (Max). Easy, right? Well, these pedals don't seem to be able to do that. No matter how I've tried (and again, only on certain banks), it just goes backto factory default. So anyway, these are things you'll never hear from any of these gear review channels, because odds are, they don't actually use the gear they review enough to find all the practical flaws. What really irked me, though, is that the company's own support team was utterly clueless.
Tell me about it I think a lot of modelers suffer from that and even on my he stomp I have to use snapshot mode to avoid latency when changing between patches
The only downside I really see with this unit is not being able to load your own IRs, which for the intended market, probably isn't a major deal, since most people who buy this are probably using it to jam on in their practice space. I can definitely recommend this to someone who just wants to dial in some decent tones on the cheap.
hi, it seems the looper will only playback in mono, e.g. if you use a ping pong left and right delay, will it record and playback the left and right delay????....
