Love your content! Super cool to hear you mention how a company that supported you from day one has a special place in your heart! I can totally relate. When I first started reviewing board games Thunderworks Games was the first publisher that supported me by sending stuff to review and I will always have a special place in my heart for their (luckily great) games! Anyways, keep up the killer content!
Thanks dude. Yeah, I think you always remember those people that support you in the early days. Same with my Patrons. I have a few that have been around since they early early beginning and they're like the OG squad lol
Mooer are low key changing the game. Small things like adding a rechargeable battery is really convenient. No need for any power outlets and you can hook it up to an external power bank if you need more juice. I use the Mooer P1 with their F4 footswitch (which conveniently fits in my gig bag) as a fly rig and it’s made playing shows so much easier. More companies should have rechargeable units and have a USB -C slot as a backup.
Boxes. Can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em. Also: red makes sense because red things are less likely to be stepped on by accident, being more visible.
Yo love the content, love the budget stuff really inspiring to make music because of all the options on the market you make stuff alot simpler, love the music aswell, keep it up man
I had the GE150 about a years ago, but I had to send it back after two days because it changed patches when the footswitch was released not when it was pressed down. Can you check if it is fixed with this unit? It seems like a very good bargain for the price, but if it has the same behavior, then I don't want to waste my time on it. Also could you check if there is any noticable lag between patch switching?
Great review - picked one up and am having fun with it. Think it'll be a good travel/headphone amp. Plan to take on camping trips in the van where I can spend some time screwing around with it on battery power. Several great tones in it, and it's easy to tweak the others. App works well.
Hi, can you tell me if there is any lag when switching between patches? The old GE150 changes preset when the footswitch is released (not pressed), so there is an annoying gap. Thank you!
Hope this product will be updated, not like ge300 ;) Not getting support was a thing that made me sell my mooer. I bought Headrush mx5 and it was a good decision
i got a question can you do pitchshift (drop tuning effect ) + whammy pitchshift (as 2nd effect with the expression pedal) with it ? or what do you recommend for this purpose under 250 bucks ?
I hope it’s possible to replace the rechargeable battery when it eventually stops holding charge well. Many tech companies overlook that detail and it’s not user replaceable. I don’t see a battery door on it, so I’m worried they skipped it and you’ll eventually need to plug in or upgrade when the battery degrades. Hope I’m wrong about that! I’m also a bit bummed that the effects editing software doesn’t have a standalone app for iPhone and requires downloading via a computer. Lots of people don’t own a computer/laptop, and cellphone compatibility is just so much better for use on the go - at practice, while gigging, for travel, during a break at work, etc. It’s a cool unit, but I think there are units in this price range that now offer this feature. Seems easy for Mooer to offer an iPhone app editor when they have other affordable hardware with smartphone software. But like you said, it gets to the point. There is something to be said about that! It helps to have less - especially for someone who never used a unit like this and/or isn’t too tech savvy.
The lack of battery access and ignoring making it easy to replace is not a bug, it's a feature. You have to remember that these companies mainly focus on infinite growth and nothing else. Allowing people to be able to work on their own gear prohibits people from just tossing it when it breaks and getting a new one or sending it to a specialized/company certified tech to repair it. I feel like this is also why tube and full analog solid state amps are getting more and more phased out. You can work on those with just a little personal safety and looking into troubleshooting. Can't have that, how do you have infinite growth if people just fix what they have? I mean, look at how cars are designed and the access to working on them yourself now compared to just 20 years ago. I fee like this is the reason Boss pedals moved to smaller PCB boards. Can't replace parts on them or modify them now and therefore you are forced to buy a new one.
Would have been awesome to have something this cheap back long ago when I was first playing. Used to be super difficult to do anything in an apt, had to get the most garbage gear.
Honestly given the price to what you get for it, I'd actually buy this as opposed to a Boss GT-1000. Special emphasis on the minimalism and as you put it: "straight to the point"-ness of it. Also: your video-making style is also reflective of said minimalism & "straight to the point"-ness, which is contributed to writing this as well! Cheers.
Awesome video brother. I’ve been so torn on what multi effects pedal I wanna get. I really like the price point of this one. I play metal (drop g 7 string) and I am gonna be playing some live shows in the future. Nothing crazy. Small shows. Only one every few months or so. So I don’t wanna spend a lot of money. So I guess I’m just looking for some recommendations. Do you think something like this would work well ? Any other options you think would be better?
I really wish you would test products with studio monitors just direct in a DAW, because since you’re using the same Cab in all your products tests we’re still hearing what this product would sound like with that cab, would be interesting to hear it both with a cab and studio monitors so we can hear that difference
Man, they need to STOP coming out with so many cool products!! I'm already getting therapy from not being able to stop buying stuff and losing my car, my house, my wife, 🤣
Still? You mean tone capturing ? I guess the Mooer ge 200 was their first multi effects with tone capture , that multi effects was released years ago , you can capture with your iOS device and their mooer ge labs and use it on the iOS device or port the tones in this multi effects and their other line of products, but not their first mooer ge150 though
At this price-point, for a more or less fully-featured multifx? I think we're already getting a whole lot. Amp-matching / capture / cloning stuff strikes me as a way more premium feature than what Mooer is offering with these units.
Still? Ge250 and newer models have always had it. And even if the lower models don't have it, you can still download and use the amp files captured by other users. Mooer's captured amps website is like heaven. It's like freaking kemper for 1/10 of kemper's price.
@@WintermintP I mean, if you say so. Compared to the rest of the modeler / multifx units from the bigger brands, this one is a steal. Aside from amp capture (which I don't personally have a use for), I think the only way this could be made better is by giving it it's own wireless capabilities. Other modelers are at least +60% the price, unless you're stepping back a generation.
If the Dean guitar was a LTD or an ESP, what would had it been? Best before and no services, uh?! They're big, they're original, but do they stick to the homologation transport line? Forrest Gump had a long run with that JMP-1 Marshall but is he good at curves on the luggage claim line?! Back to it, if I was... Well, that didn't go well, especially from the other side of the expertise. I'm nobody's lieutenant with a broken neck guitar, I guess. Equalize the meaning, too. I don't know. Namastè.
from all my digging around with modelers, Line 6 is the only company who took a chance on doing an HM2 emulation.... and it's not very good honestly. Edit: With any luck the MTL Master effect in the unit (Digitech Metal Master emulation) could MAYBE get you the HM2 sound, but I doubt it would be that great.
@riffsnoleads I quite like the hm2 on the hx stomp I think it's decent, abit tighter than the real hm2 imo. Hm2 is one of those pedal that's hard to recreate digitally. Because the gain and clipping is weird
Wow man I tell ya, theres a HUGE array of this stuff out there now. I've been out of it for like 15 years and just came back this year to see that everyone and their chinese cousin is making a ridiculous modeller with AxeFX algorithms and whatnot..... What I have found is that mostly these units have decent enough amp algorithms, standard FX models that havent changed in 20 years, and terrible digital/analog conversion that renders them unusable at anything over bedroom volume. The only ones I have found that sound good at any level, and also dont cost 4000 dollars, is the TONEX Pedal and TONEX One. I'd swear that the TONEX stuff actually sounds better as you raise the volume, almost like a real tube amp. This is a feature of tubes that has NEVER been replicated well before, so yeah... esp for 180, I'd hard pass on any of these chinese good algo/bad conversion units and get a TONEX One.
@@Metaldad87 yeah kind of a bummer. I think if you move up to the ge200 you can. But IMO it’s like “why have allllll these modelers at so many prices??”
Is it really that hard to actually let us hear what some of the amp sims sound like with WITHOUT thrash metal only tones? Bro, you do realize that there are a LOT of guys who play other styles of music than headbanger speedcore deathmetal ?
