I agree about Gris Charnel. I bought a sample and immediately liked it. Then found it a bit dull. Then I was going to buy a larger sample to see if wearing it a few times would change my mind. Decided that was ridiculous because I shouldn't have to talk myself into liking a fragrance when there's so many great ones out there that I know I love as soon as I smell them.
My baby is the hated one😭😭 I love Gris Charnel! 😂 it’s cool we all have different taste. I love sandalwood though so it makes sense for me! I’m also not going to blind buy fragrances this year, curating a more mindful collection. Thanks for a great video!

I love the Aerin Mediterranean Honeysuckle. There was a very limited edition of Mediterranean Honeysuckle in Bloom that I loved even more if possible. I wish I had bought several backup bottles but at the time I didn’t realize it would be limited. I really don’t understand the hype on Gris Charnel. Luckily I was able to sample and saved my $$.

Gris Charnel came as a sample when I purchased another fragrance. I hated it at first. But, I went back to the sample and it really grew on me. I was surprised! I love it now, and it's not a fragrance I'd typically wear. I'm an Amouage Reflection girl if that gives you insight into my normally preferred scent.
Gris Charnel: I agree. I thought I loved it during sampling. It reminded me a favorite from my distant past. The first 15 minutes are glorious and then for me I get an incensy, masculine scent, which I don’t like at all. But I think it will be great for my son, so bye-bye
Oh my God…I made the same mistake last year! I bought Gris Charnel blindly…🤦🏼♀️ Now it’s standing here and reminding me how crazy risky I was to blind buy such an expensive fragrance. 😫

I totally agree with you about Gris Charnel. For me, it's not worth the hype. It smells good, but I was quite disappointed.. Thank God I ordered a sample.
So happy you got Cuir de Russie edp. I can definitely see you pulling it off. I came across a half full bottle for around $100 by chance when I was 19 (20 now), and it took me a few months to warm up to it and now I think it is the most beautiful scent....ever. Nothing compares. It's spinning.
wow I love Santal Cardamom in the fall. and Gris Charnal gives me violet candies and sandalwood. Such a shame it doesn't agree with you. I can plow through that stuff! 😂

I completley agree with your thoughts on Gris Charnel
I blind bought Lancôme Lavandes Trianon a few months ago based on the notes. When I first sprayed it on I was really excited because it was a nice, fresh, herbal lavender in the opening. Then as it dried down it just became milk and cookies, and that’s literally the only time I felt like a fragrance was too feminine for me.
I sold mine. Hate lactobic perfumes. Makes me nauseas
I got a sample of Silky Woods as well and thought it was too woody/leathery but when it dried down it has the most beautiful vanilla on me. I’m a fan now. Really want to sample to pacific rock moss
Ooooooo, how different we are 😊 I love Angel share by Killian and to me that beautiful vanilla smell sooooo natural, so high quality smell. My husband like it on me too. Mon Guerlain to me (which you like) or Manifesto can’t wear them that’s how synthetic to me smell. I blind bought Mon Guerlain after your video, you liked it and it didn’t work for me. People really are very deferent when it comes to parfumés 😊
Chanel Eau Tendre, to my nose, is not all that impressive. YOU talked me into sniffing Eau Vive and I fell in LOVE...so in love, in fact, that it will be my first spring perfume I buy!!! I loved the Eau Fraiche and I didn't think any other in that Chance line would impress me as much as EF. For some reason I overlooked EV...it's GORGEOUS! EDIT: Does Aerin last long on the skin/clothes????
It's true, eau tendre is the least impressive... I honestly just wanted to complete my chance collection lol and I don't mind the scent, it's simple and comfortable.
The Mediterranean Honeysuckle lasts almost all day on me!
I was looking for a justification to avoid salivating over Gris Charnel, and I am glad I found it. You led me on the right path to Ylang in Gold, so I trust your judgment.

LOL, I recived my blind bouth Gris Charnel, I was expecting some spicy fregrancethat will give me Chai Latte vibe, but it's something else. I'm not giving up on it but I'm on the fance now with it. I'm glad i bouth used bottle.

I've made my share of fragcidents, more than I'd like to admit. Also sampled quite a bit of the BDK house and haven't bought a full bottle yet. I've drastically reduced my collection over the past month and only kept what I consider a love. Part of the declutter included Invite only. It's pretty good but is too similar to Oajan and didn't make the cut.
I am so happy you own Mediterranean Honeysuckle! It has been my favourite for years, even though I didn’t even have the budget to buy it yet :( I always try it when in store. But maybe 2022 will be the year I finally get it for myself 💕 I love all the Aerin perfumes, one of the best realistic, light and feminine florals in my opinion. And happy new year to you Jana ❤️

It’s so relieving to see someone feel the same way about Gris Charnel. I wanted sooo bad to smell the ‘creamy chai latte’ everyone was hyping. The sandalwood and vetiver were all I could smell, especially when I sprayed it on my skin.
I can see why the comparison to chai latte. It also reminds me of this childhood memory of mom’s rice pudding with cinnamon

A few of the Les Exclusifs were on sale at Holt Renfrew around Black Friday, I actually found out about the sale from Eugen ( U Smells Good) and called my local store to place the order asap. I don't think they're on sale anymore though :(
Yes I struggle with fig too! Took me a while to learn this because I keep trying fig fragrances since I love fig as a snack... But not as a scent, turns out 😅

Hi Yana, excellent review of so many interesting scents, most of which I don't have(I have most of the Kayali though and Amber 23 is my FAVE!).I would enjoy trying Aerin perfumes if I can get samples first. It baffles me why so many perfume companies don't have samples to try out first.

Yana if you want a good woodsy but pretty scent I highly recommend Byredo Gypsy Water if you haven’t tried it! There’s something so unique about it.

I own les Esclusif de chanel beige and 1957! I do love the Cuir de Russie! I have a sample of it! I never hear anyone talking too much about this line except for Cheraye Lewis! Thank you for sharing! Going to use my sample to see if It’s FBW for me! I just tried a sample of memo Paris Sintra! I just didn’t like that it’s a dabber from Lucky scent! I prefer the sprayer! So I asked Bloomingdales to send me some memo Paris samples so I can try again! I have to be sure I love the opening until dry down because they are very expensive! I do love and own Armani prive bleu turquoise! Thanks to ilythia Marie’s recommendation! It was a successful blind buy and I love it! Buying a back up bottle!
I so agree with you. I dislike the BDK Gris Charnel. I dislike sandlewood and not a fan of vanilla forward scents. I always appreciate your reviews. We have similar taste. Thank you for another great video. You are looking great.

I like the Chanel tandre it’s smells like something you wear to a baby shower/wedding vibes.
I LOVE milky, creamy, sandalwood and figs! And cardamom! And tea.. BUT I hated Gris Charnel.. it’s way too sharp, too synthetic and masculine. Sold my bottle that I also bought blind :D

The MUSC 004 from Zara I own, too. It's very good, the price is ridicilous for the quality. It lasts about 6-7 hours on my skin.
I really love the Kayali Vanilla and for me it lasts pretty well.. I love the late drydown whiffs.
I wished the fig lasted longer in Gris Charnel. But I also don’t like how masculine it is.

Unfortunately sandalwood is a note that doesn't often work with my body chemistry. I love Santal Kardamon on paper but on my skin it smells really bad 😑 Gris Charnel doesn't work either on me. (By the way Angel's share was my worst blind buy. Smells awful on me 😅)

@@justaddlight I just learned to deal with it 😂 But I know that I need to avoid blind buying if sandalwood is the main note. Hopefully Samsara and Bois des iles worked for me but I know I need to be cautious with sandalwood. My skin seems to hate this note. At first, I thought maybe that's in my head or my nose doesn't like this note. But nope, people commented also that I smelled like pee 🤣
I have had Mediterranean Honeysuckle on my list for a long time but no one around here carries it so I could get my nose on it. You convinced me and I ordered the travel spray today. I can’t wait to try it.

As for Gris Charnel, I don’t care for it either 😕 Have you tried Sana Jardin Sandalwood Temple? It’s my favorite creamy sandalwood fragrance and no dill! My favorite used to be Tom Ford Santal Blush, but Sandalwood Temple has taken over as my favorite sandalwood fragrance 🥰

My total bummer fragcident was Manifesto! It smells like Lemon wood polish with a touch of baby powder on me. Full 90ml that I cannot wear.

You look amazing, as per usual. Love your haul videos. Mediterranean Honeysuckle is on my wish list now. Grew up with sandalwood everywhere in India. Love it in its creamy, smooth interpretations (the best with florals). Not a fan of it when it smells like an antique store on steroids. Surprisingly, I love the way it smells in the dry down of L’Interdit Rouge. Had to return Serge Lutens Santal Majescule, too screechy and dusty for this Indian chick.
Just purchase Chanel Chance eau Tendre EDP ..plus body lotion and shower gel …it’s for later in the year ..late spring and summer looking forward to wearing it …it’s really lovely
Hi Yana, Happy New Year! Great haul, but I am sorry to hear you didn't like Santal Kardamon. I think you should give it some time and retry. I didn't like mine first time around, but now it is my favorite of all the line and much more. Some perfumes need time to settle and it is one of them.
💯 agree with you about Gris Charnel. Just blah. I blind bought it because of the hype, now I’m stuck with a bottle. It’s just really flat. I’ve been layering it with other more sparkling fragrances. 🤷♀️

Sadly, out of the 3 I purchased from FragranceBuy on Boxing Day one was a blind buy fragcident.
Mancera Wild Candy - I get almost none of the notes everyone talks about. It honestly smells just like Prada Candy - nothing wrong with that, but I was expecting a more nuanced scent. I did buy Amouage Lilac Love and it is beautiful (will really shine in the warmer months for sure).
agree about the Gris Charnel...really did not like it . I strongly dislike the fig , but I was hoping the iris would be more prominent . blech .
Finally someone said it. Chance eau tandre edt smells like daisy more specifically daisy eau so fresh. But Who copied who?
BDK Gris Charnell, I totally agree with you, it smells like over toasted-roasted cardamom, does not smell anything near or close to Chai Latte which some youtubers claim. I come from a culture were we have Chai Latte Cardamom each and very morning for breakfast so I know how it smells.
I am a fig note fan and I do not get it in this fragrance.
To me the packaging translates the efforts put into the fragrance, this bottle has a paper label stuck on the corner...not even lazer printing like designers fragrances....sorry but (NO) I do not put my hard earnings on half hearted things. This is my opinion.

I've been on the fence about Eau Tendre and I would love to finish my Chance collection as well but I just can't bring myself to buy it. It's nice, but doesn't stand out enough for me to buy a full bottle.
I was looking for a light, fruity, easy to wear kind of floral and I found a good one in Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede. So far I'm really liking it -- have you tried it? I'd love to see a Jo Malone collection video if you ever felt like making one. I'm on a Jo Malone kick these days.
Also, I've had some great blind buys lately and avoided fragcidents thanks to your videos. Eau Vive, No. 5 L'eau and No. 19 Poudre were all blind buy winners for me, so thank you!

Love it. Always appreciate the fragcidents! I recently got ambre no 3 because I loved no 1 from that line so much. But I'm not liking the ambre scent at all. Also I picked up a Diana Vreeland scent and it's ok. I think I would like it better if I didn't have other scents with that scent profile. It was the holy one, like a white floral. I do intend to give it more tries. Ty Yana!
The Diana Vreeland is simply divine. It is a pretty spring floral. I was disappointed because I thought I was buying the Amber fragrance. So that's a double fail on my part, ha!
I also got a sample of that Aerin perfume! The name is spot on! It has a Mediterranean vibe it made me homesick 😩 didn’t like Gris charnel either thank goodness I got a sample. I didn’t get any creaminess just plain fig tea 🤣 everyone was like it’s so good and I was like No I am standing my ground here!
I just got a bottle of Dior Eau Sauvage Parfum from fragrancenet and it was definitely tampered with.
"IF I can help myself" 🤣 The caveat. Otherwise it's legally binding. 😆No worries Yana. It'll just be between the two of us. Oh, and....32K others. 😄 At LEAST.

Like ur content! I jumped in the air when I got a Gris Charnel sample as a surprise in a decant purchase. I excitedly sprayed my bf and I, we had no reaction at all, it was the end to that. I thought I was gonna smell the coolest fresh leather like smell, that makes you drool. When this happens, it feels like a punch in the stomach, over hyped for sure.
Video idea/request: any interest in doing an indie fragrance review? A popular one on Reddit I’ve been curious about is Hexennacht. They kinda have a cult following (fitting given their fun dark/spooky fragrance names). Could be something fun🤩 !
Roses Vanille…ugh! I have a big bottle too. The Fig scent from Maison Lancôme…it is a travel size thank goodness. I will avoid all things fig in the future.
I want Nuit Etoilee- I have been looking for a bottle. I agree about the over-hyped Angel's Share and I think that Kayali is overhyped, and the Vanilla is not that special. I like Gris Charnel as a basic, everyday fall perfume, but my S.O. likes it on me so I ended up buying the Dua version because for me it is a basic perfume for me I also think the real thing is overpriced. The BDK I got recently that I thought really didn't live up to the pricetag is Velvet Tonka. I have found that I very rarely love perfumes that are really hyped, so I never rush to get them.
Chanel doesn’t go on sale but if Sephora for example has a discount code, you can buy a Chanel fragrance

I had my eye on the Aerin Honeysuckle on for months and you just convinced me to get it now🤣a recent fragaccident of mine was from Afnan Rare Tiffany, such a fail, a really boring watery floral scent, nothing gourmand about it as some youtubers mentioned😐

I agree with you on Gris Charnel. It's harsh to me and I don't know why. I can't wear it. The notes in the fragrance seem like I should love it, but I don't. I can't wear it because it's too harsh. I think there's incense in it and I can't stand incense in fragrance.
