  • In today's video I get around to talking about a piece I've owned for a good 6 months now, the Sorinex Iron Bear. When I was trying to decide if this would be worth the price I did what I always do, search TH-cam for a video on it. Sadly I wasn't able to find any, so hopefully this video helps you make your decision a bit easier!

I appreciate the fact that you oriented all your REP DB logos into the same position. Takes one to know one..:). I sourced my Iron Bear at the beginning of the pandemic and it took 5 months to receive. Due to space constraints it was one of the few racks that stacked 5-100 lbs. vertically rather than staggered. I had a local welder chop off one of the bar holders from each side so it wouldn't stick out in the room so far. It's still stable and not going anywhere with the DB's loaded. These are used in heavy duty NFL and Collegiate strength centers and are often positioned in the middle of the room with shelves mounted flat for access from both sides. My wife and shorter folks struggle to access DB's on the top tier. Everyone struggles putting the heavies back on the bottom tier. There's a specific technique required. I fractured a finger attempting to put this together myself. It's a Beast. Those shelves will cleave body parts until entirely secured. I've installed LED lights under each of the shelves and hid the wires in the upright rear posts. This rack is the crown jewel of my home gym and is the first thing people comment on when they see it. I'm just worried about the day I move.

Brandon, I bought this weeks after you got yours in and showcased on Instagram. I had a similar problem where I hated the lack of customization with the Rogue series, the 70in height was too short and the 100in height was too tall. It is no doubt the biggest thing in my gym, even bigger than my Monster rack. I love the thing as it holds my entire CMB set with ease and I use my Monster attachments on it (dip bar, holders, etc.), but it definitely takes up an entire wall in my single car garage and it was a NIGHTMARE to put together.

I guess Sorinex had the thinking that this would be the center piece. The way they put those olympic bar holders in the back lol.
Weider use to make these chrome dumbbells with a rotating dumbbell rack where you could just put it in the corner and still have access to all the dumbbells. Wish there were companies that could innovate along that direction.

Hey brandon. I have a pair of ironmasters that go to 120lbs. I am currently thinking about upgrading to the rep hex dumbbell set. My only concern is that maybe hex dumbbells become too unwieldy at the higher weights and also may shorten range of motion in certain lifts because of the bulkiness . I suppose I could buy the Rogue DB saddle rack, ditch the side supports and then have steel plate/adapters of some sort fabricated to allow the saddle racks to bolt onto the monster uprights.

Hell, the bolts, blades, wheels, ...everything was the same. Later, we were bought by Husqvarna, still the same everything. Craftsman went to Sears and Rally went to another store, Husqvarna mowers went everywhere. The bolts, engine, steel, everything but the shape, stickers and color were different.
