My favorite part about this game is that it came out before the movie did, and it just spoiled the entire plot. What a wild time that was. Great game though. I honestly preferred this to Battle for Bikini Bottom growing up.
This game really feels like they just took Battle for Bikini Bottom and reskined it for the movie. And considering that this came out roughly a year after Battle for Bikini Bottom, that's probably what happened
@@EighmyLupin that is very common practice to this day with sequels and spin-offs tbh to do literally just that. It was the norm back in the day to have a sequel come out 1-2 years later, and this age we have the modern Spiderman games doing something similar, and people hated Miles Morales at launch because of how it was "just Spiderman PS4 again", which reinforces the reason we see sequel games every 5-8 years now

I've never seen nor heard of this game before and at the start I was like "aha, cheap movie tie in game that's kinda crap". But the more it went on the more I was like, "this game is an absolute trip and i love it". 10/10 would play myself

I would be so ecstatic if they did. I still have my ps2 copy of the game and frankly still haven't beaten it because I'm bad at the final boss fight, but I'd love to see the kind of trophies they'd make for a remake
I remember playing this game without upgrading the abilities that patrick and spongebob had lmao. I only found out when I accidentally pressed the select button. I did very well until dennis boss fight, where i got stuck lmao
That was once my favourite video game when I was a kid. I mean, I never played it, but watching playthroughs of it was just so fun. This game is so full of whimsy. This, and Plankton's Robotic Revenge. Good memories.
I was actually hoping you’d play this one while rewatching your battle for bikini bottom speedruns. I’ve played rehydrated and cosmic shake and I haven’t been able to get my hands on this game but seeing you play through it is thoroughly entertaining. Also I love the hour long videos. They are super engaging to watch and great for rewatching in the background while I’m doing other things. I hope these are as enjoyable to make as they are to watch. Keep it up man!
18:57 Watching you doing that sliding level brought back some awesome memories; I specifically wanted to decrease my time for the timer challenge and looked up a speedrun for this level. I went on a grind trying to do those skips; too bad I didn’t get it recorded, but I honestly feel satisfied watching you do those jumps; idk how difficult you found them, but they were quite tough!
I pretty much just finished your entire library on TH-cam in the past few days, so I'm very happy to see new content, tysm for the time and effort it takes to learn these speedruns, do a running commentary, and then edit them!
Omg this was also one of the first games i ever played when i was like 3!!! i love this video i thought this game was lost to time im so happy to see someone popular make a video of it!

I would love to see you 100% the Spongebob Atlantis Game that was on the Nintendo DS. It one of my childhood game that I played mutiple times but I never could 100% complete it. I remember the final boss, plankton in a robot tank where I would skip that fight and complete the game by pushing all DS buttons at the same time.
Wow what a flashback from my childhood. Another game I played as a child that would be fun to watch speed run is The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius: Jet Fusion
I played this game at around 5 and you are so correct about the difficulty. This game is not made for little kids it’s way too complicated 😂 Thank you for bringing back this gem.
Good lord I remember having trouble finishing this 100% (mainly due to the challenges and the freaking tub stages). To think that there's a speed run for this game is so amazing. Great job!
Oh man alive... I loved playing this game on my PlayStation 2 as a kid! I would always restart the first driving section and the bathtub section after finishing them just because they're so fun to play through and not too hard. These days, I could probably fully explore the area and see if there are any hidden easter eggs or things like that in between just having nostalgic fun beating up Plankton's mind-controlled minions, driving the Pattywagon (think that's what it was called, don't really remember its name), and using a bathtub (full of water... underwater... somehow...) to go through and over a dangerous canyon.
THIS GAME WAS SO CHALLENGING 😭 I absolutely loved it, the worlds the abilities the animation and music are nostalgic. The atmosphere was incredible my favorite level being the Patrick ice cream level. So many cool and extreme levels with the PS2 graphics and freaky enemies and classic Spongebob dialog. Favorite movie and favorite game. I always wished Battle for Bikini Bottom was more challenging like this game but I still love it too.

Also, for King Neptune, double jumping makes it so the next "wave" of energy is close to hitting you. Just single jump for those.
