-.- why don't humans reproduce like this. She looks totally chill, there's no mess. A fish just swam out of her vagina and shes like 'ah ya know it happens'
I had a molly, we never know with male did it, but he. . . was a very special specimen. My female dalmatian molly was called Doris, and one day, after coming home from school, i found 137 fry in my tank. Mind you that it was a snow delay (it was last febuary) and a half a day, meaning I had school for probably only 3 hours, and in that three hours, she gave birth to over 130 fry. We never saw her give birth (and this wasn't the only incident), and only two of the fry actually lasted into adulthood, but they both had pretty good lives.

Not a good idea to put tropical fishes and goldfishes together, especially if you are breeding the tropical fishes. Goldfishes makes the water dirty very fast and the water then becomes toxic for the tropical fishes.
That breeder box is way too small for a molly. Livebearers need to be able to swim easily as part of their birthing process. The poor girl probably has a hernia from squeezing out all of those fry without proper birthing space.
some species of fish can have external fertilization and internal fertilization some fish have external fertilization which means the sperm and the eggcell in the outside they bind and join and the eggs will be formed and some other fish have internal fertilization which means the baby fish grow inside the parent and yes the molly's babies had internal fertilization because the babie were developed inside the mother.
+Jammergum 12aj I had a lone fish in a bowl. It got pregnant and had fries. how could this have happened? Isn't there some sort of fertilization required?
Catsupy Cat Yup I agree. Goldfish are coldwater fish that prefer temperatures of 65 to 75 degrees F. Mollies are tropical fish and need a temperature of 78 to 82 degrees F. Plus some mollies are brackish water and goldfish can tolerate a little salt. Mollies may need medium to high salinity in order to thrive. Goldfish need a large tank with good filtration in order to thrive.
Tori Bowman True and goldfish may live in warmer temperatures but I don't think they should be with mollies and other tropical fish. You are obviously not going to keep them with discus, lol.
Hello I Have a quick question ..where did you buy the plactic thing where u keep the molly with the babies ..bc I have a black mix with yellow molly she had babies were eaten now she pregnant again
Purple Wolf Yup they are cute but you do realize that once the mother is done giving birth, she will eat the babies. Most livebearers give live birth but then eat their own babies. Mollies, platties, and guppies are all livebearers! Sadly they both eat their own young. Most fish would also prey on the babies. Some shrimp may attack the babies. I think you can have snails with the fry though, heard some people keeping snails and livebearer fry together......
What will you do after she finished giving birth? Do you have to separate the mother from the babies? I have lot of pregnant molly now. Please advise. Ty
The Joker yes they eat their own fry. Livebearers give live birth but eat their fry after giving birth. Most fish would eat the helpless babies anyways. If you want the babies to live, put the pregnant livebearer in a separate tank and have lots of decorations to hide in. ( Java moss and floating plant roots are the best hiding spots for fry. )
Tiger Yang That's weird. Sometimes the fry can hide and maybe outrun the parents. I have noticed this as well. When the parent chases the fry, the fry may outrun it and the parent can get tired and it won't chase or attack the fry anymore until she wants to, which takes a some what long time.
Tiger Yang Oh yeah, I forgot that. Lol. If you feed them and the parents are full, the parents may not try to eat the fry. They are not hungry I guess.
what breed of black molly is she as her tail isn't normal to the black molly breed? is she a sub breed? what other fish do you breed in your tank? I breed my mollys and swordtails.
I have a yellow rainbow molly that is currently pregnant. I got a bushy plastic plant that floats on the top of my tank that is meant and sold as a hiding place for fry, but do you recommend also getting a breeding net?
I have a question. I literally two days ago bought a Molly similar to this one, and I got a white Molly as well - but the white one is a sailfin. Come home from work today and I’ve noticed about 10 babies in the tank (I’ve got a small guppy in there as well). Now I didn’t realise any were pregnant and as I’m just a casual fishkeeper, I’ve only got the one tank which is a biorb- so I can’t have a divider in there for the fry to stay safe. So unfortunately as bad as it sounds, I’m literally just hoping they survive - but if not it’s not the end of the world as I’ve not exactly got the room yet for more fish. I’ve been trying to work out which Molly was the mom, as I can’t see if there is still live birth happening at this moment. If it’s from the moon-tailed one (like the one in the video), will the tail shape start to change to look like that as they get older or will it stay the flat round shape - I’ve noticed the fry in the video have a different shape to the mom so I’m wondering how that develops?
Did the babies ever change color when they grew up? i have a black male & a white female molly that just had babies yesterday & all of the babies are a light greyish transparent color. will they stay that way or will some be mixed?
Fishes be like I HATE GIVING BIRTH except I want fish babies!!! Humans be like HAVE YOU SEEN US?!? Kiwis be like: do you want to way an egg that's almost as big as you?!?
UPDATE: GoFundMe page is up and can be found here. You all are amazing. Please feel free to tag and share if you want! Thanks for helping and sharing my friend! :) This is the shareable link. www.gofundme.com/reymartsantiago
You should either have a breeding box put in the tank like in the video, a separate small fish tank or a fish take divider. Once you see the fish pregnant, put the fish in other place and when finished giving birth take the female back out to the other fishes. When the fry gets to the size bigger then the other fishes' mouth then you put it back with the other fishes or else the other fishes would eat it.
my mollie had babys but it only had 6 babys and they were all black can you help me out,And also how long dose it take for the babys to get big enough to put back in the mane tank but they just had the babys on 12-14-12 plz help
that one around 3:05 wanted a piggy back ride. "Fish don't cry when they're born! What's up with people?" (quote from "How Guppies Are Born - "Big Mama" guppy giving birth")
I have a female Black Molly in my aquarium. It just sits there and does nothing. I have three other fish, 2 goldfish, and a Turquoise Guppy. Is something wrong with my Black Molly?
Did any of the babies survive? I'm a first time Molly owner..i'd like to know if I have to buy more fish or will my current guppies and Molly's kill them off.
mother will eat the fry unless you separate them or have a very heavy planted tank with lots of decorative hides. same applies to guppies platy and swordtail
Pretty neat video. I'm not going to hate because way back in the 80's when my parents had a tank we had a few goldfish in with our tropicals and they lived for years and got huge. Yes I know about temp and all that now. I'm just going to comment on the subject matter at hand. Mollies are one of my favorite tropical fish right behind Plattys. How can you tell when a black, or any real dark livebearer for that matter, is about to give birth? I know with the more transparent fish you can see the eyes of the fry when it's about time. But i've got a dark mickyy mouse platty and I just know she's pregnant because she's huge. but she's too opaque to really see through.
My goldfish have lived with my mollies, platies, gouramis, pictus cat, cories, etc at 80 to 82 degrees for over 3 years, so that's not exactly true, just saying. She must be doing right, her fish look healthy and they are breeding.
i have a question. once all the babies are out. does their big stomach go down straight after they give birth? if not. how would you know when all babies are out.??
Sema Gkin No the stomach may stay the same.... They can reuse and save sperm for a long time! It usually takes 30 minutes to 1 hour in order for all the babies to come out. To have a high survival rate, have decorations where the babies can hide in. Livebearers like mollies eat their own babies.
At what age or month can females fall pregnant? My 2month female is pregnant and im shocked. Or is she just eating alot. Even though shes got the black spot
I have black molly that just gave birth a few days ago. none of the fry survived coz they all got eaten by the bigger fishes. what can i do to prevent this from happening again??? please help me!!
goldfish are temperate not cold water which means they can handle both cold and warm temperatures cause they come from a area where they would experience a freezing winter and a hot summer.fancy goldfish do especially well in warmer tanks cause the higher temperature helps aid in their digestion. also if a molly is raised in fresh water it can't live in brackish water.
Brianna Harter I had a black molly that was fresh water from petco and I made it into a brackish tank and they did fine. You just have to slowly introduce it.
love heily You can feed them crushed up flakes. Or even better feed them some live baby brine shrimp! You may also try micro worms, egg yolk, small bloodworms, and small adult or mysis shrimp!
She needs another Molly for her tank mate. You do not need an air pump in an aquarium, I have had tanks for over 30 years, I have live plants in the aquarium & my filter provides water movement & air bubbles. Also, I would not put goldfish i with a molly & guppies..
I was giving the fish support through the whole video like you can do it! Breathe. Almost there! Then my whole family looked at me like I was crazy xD
Phoebe Natsuyo lol
Of course you are crazy
-.- why don't humans reproduce like this. She looks totally chill, there's no mess. A fish just swam out of her vagina and shes like 'ah ya know it happens'
+StevenAdler IsMyHero They also eat some of their babies so maybe we should be grateful for our differences LOL
+StevenAdler IsMyHero I don't know anyone who would like to have 15 at once. XD

I'm glad to see that she's not eating her own babies. Sometimes they do.
Thats so sad 😢💔 a mother eating her own baby.😔
That is sad.
She did eat one, about half way through. Gone in a flash.
They always do. And she did.
They only eat the dead and deseased though, so don’t worry.
cute little fry sitting on its momma :3
Luisa Liberman until she decides to eat it.
heeey mamma!!!! BANG! pops up giant goldfish! xD would scare the shit out of me xD

nice tips!!!
fish is plural
Rohan Mahesh Fishes is also plural. But that's not what he's wrong about.
Rohan Mahesh fishes is plural for different kinds of fish, and you can't just have fish alone, it has to be "a school of fish", simple english
na
We had a pregnant platy, it gave birth to 40+ smol fries (baby fishes), then it got eaten by the mother. omfg ;-;
they are called smol FRIES.
Get it!?!
+Isaiah Pedaso Lol
XD
XD
that's was actually a very cute vid especially when one of the baby fish was on top of momma so cute :D
That breeder box is way too small for a molly. Livebearers need to be able to swim easily as part of their birthing process. The poor girl probably has a hernia from squeezing out all of those fry without proper birthing space.
What the heck..?!? i thought all fish were in eggs first
That depends on the species.
some species of fish can have external fertilization and internal fertilization some fish have external fertilization which means the sperm and the eggcell

+Anusha K Murthy livebearers store sperm...
Awww! The babies are so cute!
goldfish wants in on the action so bad
Mike Guo
Probably cause he is fed daphnia and therefor, the babies look like it, or just swimming morsels. LOL!
....Mollies and goldfish shouldn't be kept together, they live in entirely different environments.
They could be separate tanks like in a shop, maybe.
Marko Deniro true. it doesn't look like it though, as the goldfish is going under and beside the breeder box.
Catsupy Cat Yup I agree. Goldfish are coldwater fish that prefer temperatures of 65 to 75 degrees F. Mollies are tropical fish and need a temperature of 78 to 82 degrees F. Hello I Have a quick question ..where did you buy the plactic thing where u keep the molly with the babies ..bc I have a black mix with yellow molly she had babies were eaten now she pregnant again
I wanna know as well!
+IForever Throwed I just bought one off eBay, you can get them for round $7
+Sophie Furness
can u name that item in ebay so that i can buy
how do i feed the baby molly guppies as opposed to just the momma? thanks! just got her today and she was already all ballooned up.
aww the new born fishes are cute I wish I had baby fishes

I think you can have snails with the fry though, heard some people keeping snails and livebearer fry together......
that molly is a fish factory lol
I started with 4 female mollys an 2 male now i have like 100 something molleys in my 35 gallon fish tank
Juan Ochoa lol
I sold some but the molleys keep on reproducing more baby
Juan Ochoa easy way to earn some profit lol
Juan Ochoa j
She needs a bigger tank to give birth. She needs to swim so it goes easier for her.
Omg I can't stop laughing at the gold fish.
Scared the shit out of me when it randomly popped out lol
What will you do after she finished giving birth? Do you have to separate the mother from the babies? I have lot of pregnant molly now. Please advise. Ty
Do you have a heater? If so, the goldfish are ok in a heated aquarium?
1:51 Did she just eat her fry? I used to keep guppies, and i had like 50 baby fish. But almost all died very young.
The Joker yes they eat their own fry. Livebearers give live birth but eat their fry after giving birth. Most fish would eat the helpless babies anyways. If you want the babies to live, put the pregnant livebearer in a separate tank and have lots of decorations to hide in. ( Java moss and floating plant roots are the best hiding spots for fry. )
Jason Guan I know. I did what u said years ago with my fish. But all the babies died

since when can a goldfish be in the same tank as a black molly ? :(
Cool video. I have one question, though. If I had a black shoe with a torn sole, would it not be a good idea to take those shoes into a job interview?
What why don't you ask that on a life skills vodeo
1:29
*koi swims up*
Me: SHARK!!!1!1!!!1
Vivitory That isn't a koi, it's a fancy goldfish, maybe a ryukin goldfish? Maybe an orange oranda?
lol at 1:30 that goldfish made me laugh my guts out that was a funny stalker Goldy there bruh that funny af. lol OMGGGGGGGGGGG LOL 😂😂😂😂
do the molly fish needs an air pump in their aquarium ??
plz reply
what breed of black molly is she as her tail isn't normal to the black molly breed? is she a sub breed?
what other fish do you breed in your tank?
I breed my mollys and swordtails.
Lyretail Molly
haha the goldfish at the bottom of that tank is trying to eat the babies lol
I have a yellow rainbow molly that is currently pregnant. I got a bushy plastic plant that floats on the top of my tank that is meant and sold as a hiding place for fry, but do you recommend also getting a breeding net?
Yeah u would probably get a bigger survival rate with a breeder net
You need to separate them after she gives birth or she could eat them.
Flower Power 2016 Most breeders tend to not separate guppies from the moms so the owner doesn't end up with 50 babies
Oh, OK.
Today my fish just died because it swam into a water plant and couldn't get out.😭😢😭😢
I'm so sorry about that. :(
Sabrina Nian so did mine!

did some fry still have yolk sack with them? correct me if im wrong
fish
+becky bright fry is the term for baby fish
+Anusha K Murthy
I think those are their yolk sacks yep. I find those babies less developed, and usually just gets eaten anyway.
Hola, me puedes decir que tipo de molly es, tengo una igual junto con mollys naranjas pero los machos no la preñan, me dices por favor.
Gracias
es un molly sphenops cola de lira
what type of molly is that? is color and fins are beautiful
How many mollys do you need to be able to breed
You should either have a breeding box put in the tank like in the video, a separate small fish tank or a fish take divider. Once you see the fish pregnant, put the fish in other place and when finished giving birth take the female back out to the other fishes. When the fry gets to the size bigger then the other fishes' mouth then you put it back with the other fishes or else the other fishes would eat it.
Do they absorb the egg sack or does mom clean it
It looks like it has some blue on the side of its body. So does mine but it's on it's tail.what do you breed to get the blue?
when did you put your molly in the fish hatchery
my mollie had babys but it only had 6 babys and they were all black can you help me out,And also how long dose it take for the babys to get big enough to put back in the mane tank but they just had the babys on 12-14-12 plz help
that one around 3:05 wanted a piggy back ride. "Fish don't cry when they're born! What's up with people?" (quote from "How Guppies Are Born - "Big Mama" guppy giving birth")
We bought a pregnant black Molly the mesh cage and live plant ....
Question is how long till their born?
they are pregnant for 25-30 days
I have a female Black Molly in my aquarium. It just sits there and does nothing. I have three other fish, 2 goldfish, and a Turquoise Guppy. Is something wrong with my Black Molly?
So cute!
wow, this is very beautiful
Did any of the babies survive? I'm a first time Molly owner..i'd like to know if I have to buy more fish or will my current guppies and Molly's kill them off.
mother will eat the fry unless you separate them or have a very heavy planted tank with lots of decorative hides.
same applies to guppies platy and swordtail
Just use a pipet and suck them out lol. Give them to your neighbor's' kids so they think you're nice lol
I have 2 different types of Molly fish that have been mating for 3 days when should I take out the female and how do I now when she's prago
i have 5 black molly, give me some tips on how to care it!!!! thanks!!!!
Was that a goldfish that was in your tank?
Excellent video by the way!
But i've got a dark mickyy mouse platty and I just know she's pregnant because she's huge. but she's too opaque to really see through.
and here I thought only mammals give birth to living babies (not eggs)
There are eggs the mother is just holding them inside her
MrAnimepredator the eggs hatch inside the mother.
Yeah I thought only large fish gave birth to live young. Learn some thing new every day.
Isn't that why there called love bearers I think that's why
Actually there are some species of snakes that also do live birthing.
my molly just had fry do i keep them in thep plastic container?
You do realize that goldfish are cold water fish and mollies are tropical, right? Those two fish should not be in the same tank.
Kevin Peterson No goldfish love warm waters as well as cold, and love the water to be at 70-75 degrees so its actually ok :)
My goldfish have lived with my mollies, platies, gouramis, pictus cat, cories, etc at 80 to 82 degrees for over 3 years, so that's not exactly true, just saying. She must be doing right, her fish look healthy and they are breeding.
+April Foster Youve done well to get your goldfish to stand such a high temperature due to goldfish being cold water fish
i have 5 black molly, give me some tips on how to care it!!!! thanks!!!! reply then!!!
I have 2 ballon mollies how to I know if they are male or female??
i have a question. once all the babies are out. does their big stomach go down straight after they give birth? if not. how would you know when all babies are out.??
Sema Gkin No the stomach may stay the same.... They can reuse and save sperm for a long time! It usually takes 30 minutes to 1 hour in order for all the babies to come out. To have a high survival rate, have decorations where the babies can hide in. Livebearers like mollies eat their own babies.

I have black molly that just gave birth a few days ago. none of the fry survived coz they all got eaten by the bigger fishes. what can i do to prevent this from happening again??? please help me!!
What kind of fry trap is that? I dont see the holes...
Oh there's a goldfish just waiting for his dinner.......
Ugh goldfish in with tropical fish. On top of that, Mollies are brackish fish
Its a fresh, brackish and even saltwater fish aslong as it aclimitized via a drip method
goldfish are temperate not cold water which means they can handle both cold and warm temperatures cause they come from a area where they would experience a freezing winter and a hot summer.fancy goldfish do especially well in warmer tanks cause the higher temperature helps aid in their digestion.
also if a molly is raised in fresh water it can't live in brackish water.
F a l as r
Brianna Harter I had a black molly that was fresh water from petco and I made it into a brackish tank and they did fine. You just have to slowly introduce it.
do mollys needs an oxygen? im thinking how to take care of them
+Daniella Javier yes all fish need oxygen
I take it this black molley is usually in a bigger tank?
do you now how long it take for black molly to give birth
Do u have any problems having these fish with your goldfish? I'm planning to get another type of fish with my gold fish. But I don't know which ones.
Goldfish don't mix well with many other types of fish because gold fish make the water more toxic for other fish. It's wise to keep them separate.
When did the babies get black or darker?
i have the same fish she had babies while i was in the hospital...she always have a big belly..how can u tell when the molly ready to have her babies
the babys are so cute
Where does one get a breeders box like this one?
This is pretty neat ☺
how to feeding these frys
love heily You can feed them crushed up flakes. Or even better feed them some live baby brine shrimp! You may also try micro worms, egg yolk, small bloodworms, and small adult or mysis shrimp!
thanks
Do you have goldfish in your guppy/molly tank?
thanks for posting that.
dont they lay eggs?? do they give birth to their young ones??
I didn't know they have live birth that is amazing
I have spots on my black Molly that come and go what should i do
This was Amazing!
Do many fish give birth to live babies? Kinda thought most lay the eggs first..
My black molly gave birth and all the babies survived what should I feed the babies?
She needs another Molly for her tank mate. You do not need an air pump in an aquarium, I have had tanks for over 30 years, I have live plants in the aquarium & my filter provides water movement & air bubbles. Also, I would not put goldfish i with a molly & guppies..
Finally I found MOLLY!
