  • If you're looking for an inexpensive way to get into product videography for online content, then these cheap softboxes can help you get great results with ease.
These lights are cheap, and they have their limitations, but for the price of about $140 for the full set featured in this video, they offer excellent value. I have used them to film many different product videos - including this one. While I am certainly not an expert myself, I believe they are a great option for content creaters looking to film some product videos while on a tight budget.

PLEASE NOTE - While I have used these lights to film many different product videos, I am NOT a master cinematographer, just an amateur who hopes to share some insights from my experience using these lights :) The shots in this video display the results you can get without much effort.
This video is SPECIFICALLY geared toward product videos, as these lights are plenty bright for closer shots, but they don't put out enough light to really excel as keylights for larger subjects. They are great for TH-camrs/content creators making videos or ads for products, but if you want to light a person, you'll probably want something brighter.
These lights definitely have limitations, but they are easy to work with and inexpensive, which makes them great for this type of content.
This entire video was filmed solely with these softboxes (and a bit of natural light in a couple shots) - I hope you enjoyed, please let me know if this video was helpful!

So in other words, photo shoots and video filming are valid excuses for getting flashlights of different color temperatures..? :)
In seriousness, this makes sense! I appreciate the tips - I've been cobbling together various table and desk lamps, LED strips, and flashlights, but I didn't realize that something like this (which seems easier to work with) was not as expensive as I feared. Though my budget goes elsewhere for now, I'll keep this in mind for future production upgrades. Thanks!
