$250 would make sense if this were a Mezco One:12 set. This is way too steep for a McFarlane figure set. But on the plus side, they wouldn’t have paid the production costs of molds and tooling just for this set; we’re definitely going to get a single release of the Joker figure down the line.
@WILLIAMWILKINSON-r4b I'm not here for politics and don't care who he pissed off with his opinion. I'm talking about the actor and the characters he's played, Heat, Godfather, Casino, Goodfellas, Cape Fear, Taxi Driver, Bronx Tale, and yes even Murray Franklin in Joker.
You can think him for the set costing this much. If he wasnt enough of a insufferable old prick the last few years, maybe this should solidify it for you.
@RichyFigs Look if McFarlane signed them and it was like a limited edition kind of thing with like only a hundred or so being made, I think it'd be a stretch, but I'd get it. Now if they had like Phoenix or Denero or heck all three and it was limited like I said, I could see it costing way more but it'd be way more worth it. The issue I got is it's way past the first film and the second movie was a huge flop. It's all bad timing.
@kingklank6732 I'm in the UK so I have to get most of my from figures from Ebay and pay Ebay prices, so I'd be willing to go as high as $75 for this set. I wouldn't pay a penny more though.
I’m in the same boat as you. He probably could have raped me for $175 which would have been a tough pill to swallow. I was thinking $150 and hoping $125. I’m out at $250. I can buy a dozen figures for $250.
I believe Warner Bros has requested a starting price of $250 for licensed Joker products. This same controversy happened in sixth scale where Inart had to do a 2 pack at $1000+ which was requested by Warner Bros and then the minimum price got reduced to a minimum of $250 this Summer with Hot toys.
3:10 This will go unnoticed by many but apparently any figures based on the Joaquin Phoenix Joker has to be marketed as “premium” of sorts in order to get made. Hot Toys and InArt supposedly has a similar mandate from WB on their figures and there isn’t much Todd can do in this case.
There's a point where a maker has to say ... is this worth it to make? Will this sell in our market? A Hot Toy of Phoenix or heck, De Niro will sell because that echelon of collector has scads of money. This is two plastic 7" figures and some tat.
@@basicfacekick I get where you’re coming from, but keep in mind that McFarlane, Hot Toys, InArt and others have likely been trying to get the license for Joker 2019 for years and WB was holding off until closer to the release of the new film. Neither MT or WB could have guessed the film would be received so poorly it killed the hype of the first one and thus demand for a “premium” figure set like this as well. These things are always a guessing game and I’m glad 1/10 scale figures for the movie exist. I know not everyone sees it that way though.
NECA just made a full 7 inch scale diorama of the inferno room from beetlejuice complete with lights and an ultimate figure for $180. There’s no way this set should’ve been more than $150 since it doesn’t even have lights with it and it’s smaller than the NECA diorama. I love McFarlane, but they’re out of their minds with that price. I’ve waited years for McFarlane to do a Joaquin joker figure and they pull this nonsense. I know Todd likes to get his money’s worth out of molds though, so I can only hope there’ll be a single release of him down the line at some point. I think they’d be crazy to only use the mold once.
The Heath Ledger Joker Interrogation Room Set was $40 total. Came with Joker, extra hands, cellphone, handcuffs, set of chairs, table, and cardboard diorama of the room. $25 for a figure and $15 for the rest imo is a very reasonable price. For this though...Todd is insane to ask for $250. Let's try to do the math. Two figures is $50, add two chairs, a table, cup, and mic comparable to the Interrogation Set, it should be $20 (added $5 more cause it's a bit nicer than Interrogation set). Now we're at $70. Then there's the new stuff like extra faceplates, plant, gun, notebook, real notebook, and physical diorama set....is all that worth an extra $180? The physical set should be $50 at most, mayybe $75. But that leaves $105 left for the faceplates, plant, gun and notebooks which is just highway robbery. Heck if you increase the physical diorama to $100 instead, that would make the rest of the accessories $80. Not worth it at all.
This is a perfect microcosm of what's rotten in collecting right now. The IP holder WB makes some whacky mandate about "this needs to be premium" because "mature movie" or De Niro's likeness rights or whatever. Todd the licensee in his hubris says "our market is plastic toys at $25 but surely this set, at 10x that price, will sell to the same type of collectors, right?" And along the way, McF adds little tchotchkes to the set, things that cost them pennies to produce, hoping it "adds value." This is all for a set of characters in a scene where they're on a talkshow. The Joker movie really doesn't lend itself well to "action figures" versus actual premium figs like Mezco or Hot Toys... but here we are.
Logically,it would have made sense to charge 50 or 60 bucks for it. Hes trying to profit off of it and give a higher price but in the end,you make more money if you charge a decent price. Not a lot of people are going to buy that now. It makes no sense. 🤣
Sorry mcfarlane you can keep it lol 😂. that's too much dough lol . This easily should have been a 100 $ set . Im also tired of the whole " we payed for the likness rights cop out too lol this is to expensive and todd knows . This is twice the price of the batmobile lol
Dam I thought hasbro was crazy with gouging prices. Todd really thinks that anybody would pay $250+ shipping, and tax for those shitty cut up, out of proportion statues he thinks pass for action figures. Guy is finally going senile.
The price is ridiculous, no matter how you look at it. $250 for 2 basic mcfarlane figures and the set. Joker future ends $30 (a Baf figure) The Joker silver age (page puncher) is on $23 bucks and looks better than this Joker. They release a Joker 12" statue today (50 buck preorder) Lobo with his dog and the motorcycle (a large motorcycle) Released price $70 (yo can finding on amazon $50 a lot of times). The batmans from all the movies $120
I agree that we don't need the prop replicas and make it no more than $120. The diamora is impressive and not something we really ever see for 6/7" scale figures. I'd buy it if the price was right but the math ain't mathing. I can see this not selling well yet if they arent making a high number of these it will probably end up going for a lot on the aftermarket, especially if McFarlane doesn't make anything else from the movie.
Waaay too overpriced!! Greedy Todd is tasting waters to see if he can sell us regular domestic figures with some accessories at a high end figure price. Not even the extras are worth this piece.
how are you going to include figures with visible pins in a 250 dollar set? This is nowhere near 250 worth of value. Im not even interested in the set or the figures this is just outrageous in general.
Controversial?. Besides that entertaining price.... Robert de niro, Is not exactly the most well liked man right now.... By over half The country..lol.
The reality is: if you're rich and famous, your kislux bags are seen as a sign of success. If you are just an ordinary worker working a 9-to-5 job, your real bag is likely to be considered the fruit of your efforts.
Well over half the country anyway. Lol. I know. I Saw this and immediately said... Ain't no way in heck.. And I didn't even know the price yet even though it looked Very cool at first.
Because the price is ridiculous. regardless of whether it is aimed at adults. A duo/trio of McFarlane figures, generally costs between $40-70 dollars. A set with all the batmans from the movies $120 dlls.
Because 2 action figures and a diorama (that you can either have someone make or make yourself) is not worth 250 dollars Doesn't matter who the target is
About $39.99 at Ross in 2026
😂
Yep!😅
You’re dreaming of you think this wouldn’t sell out at $100.
Nah 2025
@@OmnivolvLet it sit there..🙄 but not the price!🤣
$250 would make sense if this were a Mezco One:12 set. This is way too steep for a McFarlane figure set. But on the plus side, they wouldn’t have paid the production costs of molds and tooling just for this set; we’re definitely going to get a single release of the Joker figure down the line.
Isnt joker just the questiins body w slightly diferent heath head sculpt n the deniro same for dents face n morgans body
It's a terrible price. The batman 6 pack was the exact same box and cost $120. just absurd.
HOW IS THIS MEETING CONSUMERS WHERE THEY ARE
The Batman Movie Batman 6 Pack was an incredible value. This is overpriced big time. This shouldn’t be more than $160.
Yeah he did a few of them I got ‘em for like $60 Black Friday last year
Having Robert Deniro in figure form is cool but no $250. This just inspired a 3rd party company to make this set for a fraction of the price.
There is NOTHING COOL about Bobby Dezero....

"The set is $250."
"I'm waiting for the punchline Todd"
"There is no punchline."
"You're serious aren't you, 2 figures and half a diorama for $250."
But you get a notebook and a sign! 😂
@RichyFigs Look if McFarlane signed them and it was like a limited edition kind of thing with like only a hundred or so being made, I think it'd be a stretch, but I'd get it. Diamond Select would've given us two separate figures with all the diorama stuff split between each figure for $30 each.
I wouldn't give 50 bucks for this set.
@kingklank6732 I'm in the UK so I have to get most of my from figures from Ebay and pay Ebay prices, so I'd be willing to go as high as $75 for this set. I wouldn't pay a penny more though.
Yess I agree! Finally somebody is on the same page diamond select would’ve made only $50. That’s it!
I was so excited for this.. but that price tag is absolutely absurd!
Insane
@RichyFigs For real!

I'm still shaking my head over getting the BatWing... But at least a piece of sh/work De Niro didn't come with it. Lol

He could've not made the fucking figure. That would have been a better gift for everyone.
They could have put more effort into the figure then at least. It has 15 dollar toy paint apps and sculpt and visible pins....
Its way too high just because it says deluxe that doesn't mean its worth that high price tag 😢
Factual 💯
A lot of people would scoff even at this even for $150. $250 is beyond absurd.

What is mcfarlane smoking?!!
The Neca Diorama has more potential than this for only $100
