Yes, a real shame, and I regret to this day. Would buy another in an instant if given the opportunity. The kick in the back was amazing, and only the ninja scream gave away the second turbo spooling up.
Hahaha, well, to be fair, this channel is still relatively new, so numbers are just a matter of time, thank you though, it's great to read comments like this😁
Didn't know how supreme it looks inside, to be honest now maybe i love it more than the FD, except i think the front grille shouldn't exist, and the front headlights should have the same height from the outsides at the middle.
Not so sure about the MK VII, stylistically, I would say that it's the MK VIII is, they both share that 90-early 2000's bubbly look, even when I was making the video and searching for footage, I thought "Huh, Cosmo's interior looks kinda similar to one of a Lincoln MK VIII"
This Cosmo would have been perfect for the Amati luxury brand if Mazda had succeeded in introducing it to America. It's a shame that didn't happen because Mazda would have been taken more seriously by now if it did happen.
@@RedLine_Car_Show It will fail. No luxury car buyer is going to take Mazda seriously as an upscale brand. Over BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Cadillac, and Lexus? Absolutely not! Mazda needs to bring back the idea of the Amati luxury brand for Mazda. That's the only way this would work.
Corrections required. 26B = 900HP...? The 26B was rated at 730hp officially by Mazda & detuned to 700hp for the Le Mans race for reliability purposes. You have fallen into the internet trap where this 900hp figure started to surface in 2010 after a theoretical increase IF the engine revved to 10,500rpm, which it never did.......!! Exported to AUS...? The JC-series was never exported during it's life span (90-95) However, under low volume import laws, DMRH special vehicles in Sydney, AUS imported & shifted over 100x "Used" Cosmo's from 2000-2004 before the federal Gov changed the import laws. Some entered NZ in the mid / late 90's as their (used car) import laws are very open The video you used of the blue Cosmo (3ROTOR) was taken around 1999 north of Sydney from the DMRH special vehicles "import test" Cosmo of a man's personal import 90-model Cosmo. That particular Cosmo was #123 off the production line There are privately imported JC Cosmo's across the world but all are used vehicles in the hands of serious collectors these days LHD....? The only LHD versions floating around are the pre-production AMATI Cosmo's which are long destroyed...? The pic you used was from a Puerta Rico Rotary enthusiast that did a personal & quite amazing private conversion from RHD to LHD The demise of the JC-series...... When Ford took a 30% controlling share of Mazda in 1995 as the Sumitomo bank was running out of patience propping up Mazda's balance book covered in red. Great / amazing cars but too pricy & not enough sales. Ford axed all non-profitable vehicles at the end of their cycle. For rotary fans, this is why the USA only saw the "Series-6: RX-7 (92-95) & why the JC-Cosmo was canned in 95. Only by careful pleading did the "Series-7" (96-98) RX-7 continue due to the FE-series RX-8 development program already going ahead, politics & more politics The JC-series ended with a 60/40 split for 13B/20B sales I once spoke to Koby Kobayakawa the legend behind the FD-series about the JC-series...... "Why was there never a "Manual gearbox" option on the Cosmo like Toyota did with the (competing) Soarer...? His response was..... "We only ever wanted the Cosmo as a luxury cruiser & all sports driving confined to the RX-7" Having driven some "Manual conversion" Cosmo's........... I can confirm, they become a GT-R like beast / weapon, totally transformed into a different feel compared to the Auto...
But the current car price tells otherwise... I already know this car before when it's still kind of forgotten, I loved the car, and tried to get one. Now? NOPE! :(
its NOT a forgotten engine, its just that type of Engine is NOT stable, and will after short time, consume a large amount of oile.. and that WHY this type of engine is DEAD.
Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing petrol stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any more......:-(((
It's all being pushed back and they'll keep pushing it back. All combustion cars aren't being banned from public streets in the EU and Scandinavia. I don't know about the rest of what you said, but it's still worth investing in ICE cars.
Having owned a 20b Cosmo, I could only describe it as a silent assassin that blew everything else on the road away.
That's one heck of a way to describe it!
What happened to it though? It's a real shame if you had to sell it😔

Looks like elements of this made its way into the 929 as well.
The badge reminds me of the 90's rebadged versions :)
Bro how do you not have at least 200k subs

It's American counterpart was Lincolm Mk VII , having both of them would be truly special .

Well, nowadays, Mazda is trying to enter the luxury market again, for the second time, and I'm really curious how will it go 😁

I own a 92' Mazda 929. I need a Cosmo in the garage with it.
Would be a sick duo for sure!

However, the eu actually allows the sale of cars which run on alternstive fuels post 2035, a new hope is indeed exist.
stop talking rubbish!
