I like how you highlighted the "spaced safe move->back off" aspect of MKLeo's play. I remember he used it well back in 4 with his Marth by perfect pivoting back after a jab on shield to scout reactions
This was a great video. I appreciate adding examples of characters without disjoints( Peach/Fox). Because, the "spaced dodge roll distance away" was kind of hard to swallow at first since I play Capt. Falcon. After seeing your examples with Samsora and LIght. I can see how to apply this to my play.
I found this video on a reddit comment and share it with select people who want to get better. Employing this into your gameplay will help you do so much better in tourney. I have a friend who’s won his past three tournies and beaten his demon consistently, and he says a huge part is this video!
It's been a full year and this is still my go-to video to watch along side my replays where I fail to keep my opponent in the corner. Edit: I actually don't know why I didn't like it before, must've not been signed in at the time-
I just recently started playing smash and wow are your videos helpful. I’ve gone from being a casual to understanding this game in depth from watching your vids. How do you not have more subs!? Edit: examples with text on screen helps so much
This is a really good video, please do more. I was actually looking for a video about mkleo a few days ago and was exited when i saw this on the smashbros subreddit. You did everything i was looking for in this video and more.
This teaches so much and helps to those trying to learn this game. Thanks Poppt1! You taught me to analyze things and to run back instead of spot dodge all the time
Incredible video with an extremely well done format. In particular, the examples at the end of the explanation were fantastic. Great job, would love to see more videos like this.
I think this video focuses a bit too much on characters with disjoints, especially now that MkLeo mains Joker and he's had to adjust his corner pressure play to compensate for the lack of range in comparison to Lucina. Applying these techniques vs characters with big disjoints like the swordies are significantly more difficult since you have to rely more on reading your opponent and can't cover multiple options at once since you'll get beat out. A common tactic that Lucina has to get out of the corner is full hopping and then landing. If you don't react to the full hop then Lucina has a multitude of options to land since she has the air speed, disjoints, and safe aerials. But pressuring shield on Lucina and dashing back is just as difficult when you're forced to respect them throwing out hitboxes. MkLeo had this issue as Joker vs Mr. R's Chrom (who can do these similar tactics) and he had a hard time keeping him in the corner due to this. That said this video is still great for high level play, but I noticed this pretty big flaw in the video and I hope future videos will compensate for a more complete package, as players who mains non-swordies are going to have a hard time adding these pressure-based techniques.
@@Poppt1 excited to see what else you put out. No pressure ofc lol. A topic that's been on my mind is using platforms to our advantage and maybe the philosophies behind which stages we ban/pick vs our opponents in tourney
Hi! I've been constantly watching your "The Mind Of" series through out the days and I have a question. How do I incorporate this into the aggressive playstyle in "the mind of Nairo & Light"? Great series btw very enjoyable to dissect and rewatch over and over! Hopefully you can get back to me soon :)
Hey your guides are great so I was wondering if you could make a guide about dealing with campers? This is a big problem for me as it often feels like I can't hit them
weow gj just watched the vid gj. only thing I think is to use a light gaussian blur for the background in the summary section instead of the higher contrast/brightness
Idk if the summary was necessary since this is a vid not a speech, most people just skip that and if I need to rehash stuff I can just rewatch part of the vid. But having all the things written down in an easy to screenshot form is nice. I really liked the format of the vid. Cornering is something I've been working on a lot and I wish I could have seen this weeks ago lol. Despite some of it being stuff I knew, it was a really good rehash and the last bit with the examples gave me a lot of ideas. I really like how you focused on a player then expanded it to multiple other characters. Subbed and I hope to see more of this I personally have trouble with ledge trapping in this game and covering different timings, so I'd enjoy seeing a vid on it
This video was great. Your next video should be about disadvantage state. Great Work
Thank you so much :)

This video was super helpful, amazing job! I loved the examples and explanations at the end! Please make more!
I shall!
I've finally made another!

wait, this was your first video? that's a hell of a good start bro, only getting better, but good since the beggining
Liked and subscribed! That's the kind of content of which I can't believe there is so little out there. Thank's for sharing!
Yeah I feel like there's a lot of vids based on tech skill but not many good ones on just how to play, thanks!
Since watching this i can only see Mkleo's techniques while hes both in advantage and disadvantage
Awesome video. Really helped me out, please keep more like this coming.
Sorry for the wait but the next one is out!
This is a really good video, please do more. I was actually looking for a video about mkleo a few days ago and was exited when i saw this on the smashbros subreddit. You did everything i was looking for in this video and more.
Thank you so much, literally just uploaded the newest one :)

Well done mate. Excellent content! Looking forward to more from a fellow Aussie
Amazing analysis and the examples make it even better!
These videos are incredible, please continue making these kinds of videos
most slept on content for ssbu. most useful guides
Loved it. I subbed. Looking to more videos like this. Scenarios of Neutral are extremely important and this great.
Thanks I just uploaded a new vid thats ALL about neutral!
This teaches so much and helps to those trying to learn this game. Thanks Poppt1! You taught me to analyze things and to run back instead of spot dodge all the time
As a person who has been kind of competitive for a long time, this was all very helpful for leveling up.
I’m glad you made a video how to get out of the corner and keep people in the corner Those are my worst things in smash
Incredible video with an extremely well done format. In particular, the examples at the end of the explanation were fantastic. Great job, would love to see more videos like this.
Thank you! I'm swamped with assignments at the moment but definitely want to continue the series as this one seemed to really help people out
New one is finally out! hahaha
Great video! Can't wait for more!
the wait is over!

100% agree
thank you popped 1, very cool
Great vid man
I'd suggest making one about getting out of the corner / disadv
New vid is up and you'll be happy with the topic ;)
You’re a wizard and this is very helpful
Any player that wants to gitgud needs to watch this video. So essential. Thank you for this!
Thank you for watching, glad you found it helpful :)

great video! would be nice to see ways to escape the corner, keep up the good work.
Cheers haha, yeah I think that might be the best one to do next
Thanks Poppt!
This is enlightening
Thanks for the info
Anyone know the name of the background music?
What about against prepatch Isabelle, is it average roll distance or HER roll distance? super relevant question
Definitely play around the characters roll distance :)
Good stuff!
I'm interested in an edge guarding video
Great video and analysis. I'd love to see your thoughts on edge guarding. My edgeguarding consists mostly on SDing like a moron
Great video. I'd love to see one on Zackray
Hey your guides are great so I was wondering if you could make a guide about dealing with campers? This is a big problem for me as it often feels like I can't hit them
It’s harder to deal with on WiFi
Do a video on when to go for hard reads
Big brain
No fear 98
I’m exactly one year late
do edgeguarding/offstage game next. esam probably idk.
amazin video!!!... :D
0:34 steves in smash4?
am i the only one earing that high tone noise ?
weow gj just watched the vid gj. only thing I think is to use a light gaussian blur for the background in the summary section instead of the higher contrast/brightness
I wanted to blur but didn't know how to with filmora D;

Thank you for this thoughtful comment :) Yeah the summary was mainly so people could either screenshot it/write it all down if they wanted to.
That makes sense! And I can't wait for more vids :)
Music was distracting, but good video thanks
