- Since a few weeks we are living here in this cabin in our favourite mountain area of Norway. In this vlog I'm sharing some impressions of the stunning nature that we have around here, our first trip to Røros after two years and the process of settling in and making ourselves at home. Well done Joachim for driving the car so Leena got her beautiful drone shots even though it was outside the comfort sone:-) I think it is so nice to see that the two of you are supporting each other so much. I also move around a lot looking for my forever place with my 15 year old cat called Dumpling. It is hard at times, and sometimes I feel lost and lonely, and just watching you create your home with your things you have with you, is what I also do and then I am home. Thank you for your video. Vorgestern war hier in Norddeutschland ein so scharf-kalter Ostwind, dass ich nicht vor die Tür wollte, aber jetzt ist es einfach nur schön kalt und weit angenehmer. Zeit, es sich drinnen gemütlich zu machen :)

I'm so happy for you and Joachim Leena! I understand how important it is to have a home you feel comfortable in (especially as an artist) as I went through my own trials the past year with that but I finally found temporary home a few months ago that I feel comfortable in too.
The spot you found seems truly magical, it's something serene in both your surrounding area and Røros itself. It's visible how happy and at peace this place makes you feel, even if it's still temporary. I also only just now realised that I love all the background sounds in your videos - rain, running water, wind. It makes me feel like I was with you right there, thank you for that experience 💚

I have found in my long life that moving through life is a following after longings and trying to find the place where one belongs. It’s heartwarming to see you finding your ground and settling for a while. It is a part of the journey that must not be skipped over.

Liebe Leena, lieber Joachim, wie immer berühren mich eure Videos tief im Herzen. Was ein schönes Haus, zwei separate Plätze zu arbeiten und das alles in so einer wunderschönen Landschaft. Ich freue mich so sehr, dass ihr es so gut angetroffen habt. Die Schönheit der Welt, die in euren Videos sichtbar wird, lässt manchmal eine Sehnsucht in mir fühlbar werden, nach einer friedlichen Welt, einem Miteinander von Natur, Menschen und Tieren, die dann riesig wird. This 2 cabins are so cozy and been taken care of. Even the wood on the outside.
Sometimes you heart knows, when you feel 'home' and 'belonging' somewhere, even in a house can do that, together with the environment, country and so on.
My father was from a Danish mother and German father, born in Bremen in 1929. His heart was happy at the coast waters and mountains, nature...
He loved Lapland.
He never made his dream come true to live like his heart needed and died very disgracefully in Belgium in hospital without me by his side when i was 17 years old. I cried rivers because i was not holding his hands and cares his face and just be with him. I also cried as i am older, that he never made it, to fulfill his dream. To live his life in Lapland, Sweden...
His character was more like a Norwegian or Swedish. His scandinavian personality was never understood and aporeciated.
I feel so very sad watching your video's and of Kalle Flodin, because his heart was like yours in a way.
Please, please, make shure your heart chooses the right place to live and get older. Do follow your gut instinct and heart. Where does it belong, so you live at ease with your personal character, personality and so on.
I am so very proud of you both.
I feel like a mother watching you and pray my children do the right thing and live a life worth living everyday.
Belonging somewhere is important to feel ok with yourself.

I hope you two find your forever home & the best way to do that is just how you’re doing it. A painting course would be wonderful for you to creat, especially with all the turmoil all the world is going through right now. This next round of Covid is suppose to kill people instantly. People are looking for things to do in the winter when they’re more inside & learning to paint could sure be one of them. Eventually I’d love to work on some landscapes myself. I live in a beautiful place with wonderful landscapes. I was born & raised here. I’m an American born Scandi living in Seattle, Washington, USA. I was living in North Bend up in our mountains but moved down into Seattle for a while. I can’t wait to get back up to the mountains again & out of the city. This city is just too much for me. I should be painting it but with all the COVID’s I don’t even want to go out. I enjoy watching your videos & seeing Norway. Happy Holidays!

This time has something magical, it forces us to slow down. Everything takes a little longer, a bit more effort. The daylight is shorter. But this is a good reminder for how precious our time is and that we should value every moment good or bad. Thanks for this another part of your life in a nature that is beyond beauty.
