The secret to hot showers is having a sauna 😍 the kind where the stove that heats the cabin and the tulikivi also heats water, and you mix the hot water with cold in a bucket until its nice, and then have the floor built in a way that when you dump water on yourself, it drains through the floor and out somewhere. We had one in Finland, and it was heavenly, you’d never even want a regular shower again
Oh, Vicky! I am a Finn living in Canada... You know the real thing! It warms my heart to think about my childhood memories in my grandmother's sauna: sitting in lukewarm water at the highest tier, watching my parents lovingly wash one another, just the way you described. It was a weekly family ritual, so heavenly that it was imprinted in my memory from the time I was a toddler.

It will be amazing yet humbling to be completely immersed in nature, to experience your surroundings in that primal state. And just imagining the epic northern lights gives me chills! I can’t wait to see what it’s like. It is a dream of mine to experience northern nights in that part of the world.
