I was discharged in 1973, and rode my '72 Honda 750 back to my hometown. Bike was stock motor, 24000 miles, the last miles were from Texas to Alaska. And I raced a Trident and a Norton 750 and beat them in quarter mile repeatedly, never using more than 3rd gear in quarter. Trident rider inspected my bike while saying, I NEVER WAS BEAT BY A HONDA!!!

Honda 750 4 cylinder was a fast motor, esp. in a straight line. Bike was incredibly Ugly and handled lousy.
