    Thanks for the review . I’ve been looking for a new pad. I’m going to try out the Kilos gear pads.
    The Flextail mini pump will deflate that Flextail pad very quick.

    I have the Nemo Tensot R4.2. Your comment about its warmth makes sooo much sense. I have used it in relatively mild temps (45F) low and been chilly. Had to put an extra 1/4" pad underneath. Makes me doubt the R rating just like quilt and bag "comfort" ratings.

    I can't believe none of them have some wind resistance build into them. Maybe you could cut a few air holes in there to allow the wind to pass through more easily.
    Thanks for the review. I am super intrigued by the Kilos Gear pads they look very comfortable.

    I love Devin’s review of the Kilos Gear Elite pad. I think that is the one that will replace my old BA Q-Core Deluxe pads. Great price, great weight, love the depth, and that R value(!!!), yes!

    Great vid, I'd buy the Kilos Gear UL if I didn't already have the nearest competition in every way, the Naturehike R 5.8. In fact I'd like to see your Kilos Gear UL Vs Naturehike R 5.8 head to head. Love your vids.

    • @ryanyu5051
      @ryanyu5051 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      But the naturehike is thin, not good for side sleepers...and the R value, it's easy to be fixed by just a blanket under the pad.

    • @camping_guru_uk
      @camping_guru_uk 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ryanyu5051 I'm a big fat guy and I've found the R5.8 comfortable and I'm a side sleeper. The key for me was price, weight but mostly pack size and the Naturehike packs up really small. It is about 3" thick so not far off the Kilos Gear UL which I probably would of bought if it had been out when I got my R5.8

    • @sophieisabelle3762
      @sophieisabelle3762 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@camping_guru_ukI have the same nature hike pad and am a side sleeper, not especially heavy human, and I bottom out on it. If it’s inflated to the point I don’t bottom out then it’s horribly uncomfortable. It may be I just need to dial it in a bit better, but so far it’s not been great. I do have chronic pain so a comfy pad is important. It’s definitely warm, I’ll give it that. I’ve looked at the kilos pad but I’ve yet to see many reviews that aren’t sponsored.

    • @camping_guru_uk
      @camping_guru_uk 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@sophieisabelle3762 I definitely have it fully inflated and I have my own built in padding lol. I'm not saying it's as good as my mattress at home but I'm comfy enough on it. Again the Kilos Gear UL looks very good in all ways.

    I have the Nemo Tensor EC in L/W and it gets very small. It's a hint bigger than the Zenbivy Flex which is a thinner pad. The EC goes very easily into it's sack, even with the pump sack rolled up with it. I was on the early adopter end of these, but I think I got it just after some concerns/complaints about the small stuff sack; mine is loose around my pad making it very easy to get in there. I agree with you that the 'waffle' style is more comfortable and as such the KILOSGEAR pads really have my attention.
    About those pump sacks... I kind of hate the small opening style; it sort of defeats one of the great advantages of a pump sack which is to eliminate any breath moisture being introduced which as we all know will contain bacteria and affect insulation. That aside, don't put it right up to your mouth. As you blow into it from about a foot away you'll notice that it'll draw air into the pad; you're really just creating a slight high pressure area at the top of the opening and this will cause a much higher volume of atmosphere to enter the sack than you can get from your lungs alone.

    So, I'm thinking that I'm not a horizontal baffle guy. Nemo 3D, very nice, very comfy but not as comfy as my dimple patterned ones. You just got to figure some things out for yourself. Thanks for the info... always helps me narrow things down. 👴

    What is the crinkle factor on the Kilos pads? Are they loud?

  • @AkinaLOL
    @AkinaLOL 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    If you don't blow as close to the mouth of the pump sack you get bonus air flow from the air around what you blow out and save on light headedness

      I can't believe these TH-cam influencers cannot grasp this concept. He's not the only one. Nemo calls their's the "vortex" for a reason.

    Well, as of today (it (AeroCloud Elite) just arrived today) I own both of those Kilos Gear pads. You mentioned "comfort". If you can't sleep comfortably on a pad, what's the point? I can sleep on the ground and be uncomfortable. For me, comfort is where it's at.

  • @jerrys88

    I'm an active sleeper - get lots of exercise tossing and turning before finally falling asleep. I wish there was a near-silent ultra-light sleeping pad. These sound like all others I've seen and tried - like you're sleeping on a bag of potato chips. It keeps me up at night worrying about disturbing other people. Even the Nemo Tensor Ultralight, touted as being quiet, was way too noisy and had to be returned. I've settled on using the Therm-a-Rest Trail Pro. It's practically silent and I love it, but it's bulky and weighs 2 lbs. 7 oz (large size). If you come across a good, lighter and less bulky alternative I'd love it if you'd do a video about it. I'm all ears.

    Kilos doesn't make that pillow they just put their name on it. I bought the exact same one on Amazon 2 years ago for like 12 bucks.

      The Nemo Tensor EC, I'm a cold sleeper and I actually sweat on a low 50's night. Just wish I could sleep on it, the horizontal baffles are very uncomfortable to me. Guess I'll try to sell it online and recoup some of the money it cost. $$$!
