Everyone always says this was Shane's intentions from the very beginning when Rick was in the hospital. That is absolute false. Shane was the most real character of them all. He was there for Rick when he was shot, he took care of his family, visited him everyday in the hospital, and when everything went down, he went back to get him. Out of fear, stress and such he thought he didn't hear a heart beat on Rick. He didn't know what to do, he is HUMAN! So, just in case Rick had a chance of living, Shane blocked the door so no walkers could get in the room. Later when they reunited, Shane was happy but also mind blown and nervous because the fact he took the role as the farther and husband to Ricks family. Over time, the world going to shit, devastation and part jealously, Shane lost his mind. He never actually could come to killing Rick because that was his brother basically. He would of done it the first chance he had if he really wanted to. Even when Rick killed Shane, Shane lowered his weapon, but Rick couldn't risk Shane's outbursts anymore. Shane and Rick looked into each others eyes when Rick stabbed him. Shane kinda had the look of, "Finally". Like he wanted it to be all over and done with. Rick did NOT want to kill him. Rick was crying and screaming. He even mentions later in the other seasons how he thinks of Shane everyday, that was his brother. Unfortunately Rick is losing his mind a tad just like Shane, just at a slower pace than Shane. I wish they kept Shane. Rick and Shane could of kept each other sane and could of been great leaders together for the group. End of the day, Shane was the most ligit and straight up real characters there was, besides some of the lying he did, but still.

He did make the effort to get him out of there, but it was so hectic and chaotic. Shane is forced to make difficult decisions so many times. He's a really great character and definitely very human. +Nicholas Ruocco season 1 and 2 actors are the best in my opinion. their acting is more convincing then Eugene Rosita Abraham Gabriel. their characters are cartoony. only good season 5+ actor is Aaron.
I do to an extent like those later characters only because Im such a big fan of the comics but I will say with out a doubt the first 3 seasons actors and actresses were by far the best. the characters alone felt more in depth and they felt real especially Shane's character in the fact that he showed truly what the apocalypse can to to a person psychologically and I related to him alot as a person and what he goes through with the whole Lori situation

Jon Bernthal never wanted to leave the show, he was actually pissed when they killed Shane off. I think if they could change the way Andrea died from the comics, or Dale and Tyreese. They could definitely keep Shane alive. It made me so excited when Shane was plotting to leave the group... The thought of him showing up in a later season, like 4 or 5 would be amazing. Instead of carol saving the group, we could've seen Shane's development with his time away from the group completely destroying Gareth and the rest of the termites. Rick and Shane would have a great reunion and since lori would be dead the would leadership would legendary. Imagine Shane versus Negan!

There are two theories that will 9/10 not happen, but they are there. The first one, shane did not die from the stab and when he got up, he wasnt a walker. Then, when carl shot he fell on purpose to look like he died. Carl missed because he is a bad shot. He then left the farm. The second one, shane ran away while he was out in the woods with rick because he was plotting to leave. Then, rick hallucinated the entire thing about him stabbing shane. in the end, he truly felt that he loved lori and carl and believed he was doing what needed to be done to save the group, and for the most part he was right. he opposed rick in his decision to search for merle, a decision that led to jim and amy's death. he felt it was too risky staying in the farm and continuing the search for a girl who was likely already dead, and he was right. his decisions was morally wrong but right for survival. the necessary evil in an evil world. RIP shane
This deserves so many more views. I was so mad when I saw Rick kill Shane. He was a main Antagonist/Protagonist in the story. I wonder how Season 3 will go without him.

Shane was never really a bad dude, everyone bad mouths him like he was, he just fell in love with what Rick had while they presumed that Rick was dead. Then when Rick came back and Lori started wanting him to leave, and then stay, and then saying what they had could have been real, he went over the edge so he could have it.
I get that Shane was basically a full-blown, murderous, douchebag by the end, but there's STILL just something about him I can't get over. There were other ways they could've handled it, and I think they lost a great actor and a fascinating character. Big mistake.
Shane could still be alive here's why Rick has been hallucinating since season 1 (the helicopter in Atlanta) because he was under a lot of stress. Season 1 finale they barely escape and lose Jacqui. Season 2 Carl gets shot and lori gets pregnant (no idea who the father is) dale dies and Daryl is almost killed and they still don't know what to with Randal. Rick hallucinated the entire thing. Shane had already slipped away. At the time there was an entire herd of walkers already making there way to the barn. In the scene rick stabs shane in the stomach and "kills" him. And Shane had reanimated literally in SECONDS. What Rick had stabbed was just a walker that was ahead of the herd, hence why it got up so quickly. Carl never once mentioned having to put down the reanimated shane because what he really took out was just a walker ahead of the incoming herd. Besides don't u think carl would have been much more devastated for an 8 year old seeing what was his second father die? He seemed completely okay with it. and when Rick mentions it after they leave the farm carl is in complete shock as if he wasn't present when it happened. (Because it never happened) so shane is alive and wandering somewhere with a new group

I think Shane made most of the right calls when it came to protecting the group, but as Andrea said it'was his approch that ruined it. Rick was more tactile while Shane was just a hothead. In saying that, he should of left with Andrea when she asked him too. What sent him over the edge was when Lori told him she didn't know who's baby she was carrying. Shane was always my favorite character. The poor dude went nuts, but who wouldn't? So many mixed feelings when your best friend turns out to be alive and you've been dating his wife, the only true love you've ever felt, for about a month, after you dating dozens of different girls purely for sex your entire life. He killed Otis. I think he could have gotten away without doing that. The zombies were still quite far away when he shot in Otis' leg. They were close after they fought.
Only good things he did was beating up Ed and opening the barn in my opinion.

I wish that they never killed Shane off of the walking dead. Shane cared for Rick when he got shot, took care of his family.. The thing i disliked about Shane was that he went all crazy and was rasing the gun up to Rick when they where in the woods. I also hate how Lori was blamming Shane saying that he lyed to lori and stuff when really Shane was trying to help rick get out of the hospital but he couldn't because he knew that they wernt going to make it out of there and also he couldn't here one heartbeat from Rick so he was scared... When Rick stapped Shane, Shane kinda had a "finely" look on his face as if he was waiting to die and was sick of everything. R.I.P Shane Walsh, you will be missed

in the end, he truly felt that he loved lori and carl and believed he was doing what needed to be done to save the group, and for the most part he was right. he opposed rick in his decision to search for merle, a decision that led to jim and amy's death. he felt it was too risky staying in the farm and continuing the search for a girl who was likely already dead, and he was right. his decisions was morally wrong but right for survival. the necessary evil in an evil world. RIP shane

Shane was never really a bad dude, everyone bad mouths him like he was, he just fell in love with what Rick had while they presumed that Rick was dead. Then when Rick came back and Lori started wanting him to leave, and then stay, and then saying what they had could have been real, he went over the edge so he could have it.
I get that Shane was basically a full-blown, murderous, douchebag by the end, but there's STILL just something about him I can't get over. There were other ways they could've handled it, and I think they lost a great actor and a fascinating character. Big mistake.

Shane could still be alive
here's why
Rick has been hallucinating since season 1 (the helicopter in Atlanta) because he was under a lot of stress. Season 1 finale they barely escape and lose Jacqui. Season 2 Carl gets shot and lori gets pregnant (no idea who the father is) dale dies and Daryl is almost killed and they still don't know what to with Randal. Rick hallucinated the entire thing. Shane had already slipped away. At the time there was an entire herd of walkers already making there way to the barn. In the scene rick stabs shane in the stomach and "kills" him. And Shane had reanimated literally in SECONDS. What Rick had stabbed was just a walker that was ahead of the herd, hence why it got up so quickly. Carl never once mentioned having to put down the reanimated shane because what he really took out was just a walker ahead of the incoming herd. Besides don't u think carl would have been much more devastated for an 8 year old seeing what was his second father die? He seemed completely okay with it. and when Rick mentions it after they leave the farm carl is in complete shock as if he wasn't present when it happened. (Because it never happened) so shane is alive and wandering somewhere with a new group

I think Shane made most of the right calls when it came to protecting the group, but as Andrea said it'was his approch that ruined it. Rick was more tactile while Shane was just a hothead. In saying that, he should of left with Andrea when she asked him too. What sent him over the edge was when Lori told him she didn't know who's baby she was carrying. Loved Jon Bernthals portrayal of Shane. Spot on.

Shane had the survival mentality, it's was survival over all else (except for Lori but pressing on) in my opinion if Shane had lived, they would all be alive at the prison. He wouldn't have been so reluctant to do what was necessary like Rick, he would've killed the governor and maybe lose half of the prison, which again wouldn't matter because all who would be important would be alive. (Again theoretically of he and Rick were bezzies again)
