"Whiter teeth & fresh breath will get Dave back." I thought it was nonsense... until it worked! She got Dave BACK! I bet Dave had a kick ass mustache... and one of those carpeted Ford vans... Thanks for posting the magic!
7:17--I didn't realize Edge had been around that long. I was introduced to it in the early 1990's when I was in college, and I thought it was a new product then.
It's not time for the annual Halloween Marathon yet and we get that creepy *toy* from JCPenney!!! Yeah thanks nightmares will ensue! But at least we get the classic opening to Cinema 4!!!!! Takes me back.
5:17 - I was so focused on that damn creepy puppet that I almost didn't notice that awesome Godzilla toy behind him! It's the same one my older brother had as a kid, and still has in his room. Awesome to see it in mint condition. My brother's is missing a hand, because it had a button that allowed the toy to shoot its hand out, and he lost it a long time ago.
2:32--Me TV was rerunning both the original Bob Newhart show and the Mary Tyler Moore show a few years back. Neither is currently on their schedule, but they did show the Christmas episodes recently as part of their annual spotlight of holiday-themed episodes. 3:02--This was before I got into "The Price Is Right," but I do remember a syndicated version that ran for one season in the mid-1980's. I think Tom Kennedy, rather than Bob Barker, hosted that version. 10:16--This must have been one of the "Gilligan's Island" reunion films; I know they made a couple. The show just returned to Me TV's Sunday afternoon schedule after being off for a few months. R.I.P. Dawn Wells (who played Mary Ann); I heard she just passed away after suffering from COVID-19. That leaves Tina Louise (Ginger) as the last surviving cast member.

08:15 - that's something you don't hear a lot of- when the advertiser just outright says "BUY this"... usually it's ' try this' or 'experience that' or 'indulge yourself' in...
03:57- I guess they changed the song up a little later because I kept expecting the lyrics "with the ultimate flavor ", but they just kept saying "ultimate bubble" over and over and it was really screwing me up...
Got to love the late Wolfman Jack you see in the "The Midnight Special" Commercial Bumper

Looking at the edge commercial back then and here I am been using it for years 💯💯💯💯👍👍👍

Man I miss my childhood
I miss these ads, I remember a lot of them.
I remember paying 25 CENTS for a 16 oz. glass bottle from a vending machine in my church. 😁
"What's behind the name Donahue? Colorful guests, controversial issues..."
_(cuts to Bill Cosby)_
Well, that was... fitting.

The Rock Concert promo v/o (#27) was Bill Rippe. The "NewsCenter 4" promo (#26) had ending v/o by Roger Tuttle.
TVNewsman had the same NewsCenter promo, Rock Concert ID and Cinema 4 open in a video back in the day. It's nice to see the rest of the video

JCP Men Suits: Adjusted for inflation, $72.00 in 1980 is equal to $241.23 in 2020. Annual inflation over this period was 3.07%.

Dynamints wish they still made those
4:16--I remember Dynamints; haven't seen them in ages. I wonder what ever happened to them?
I love Overly Enthused Grease Guy!:D
They did a great job of finding the least hip guy in NYC. :)

So would Tickle with a big wide ball sell on television today? lol
It appears that Secret, Sure, and Arrid has outlasted Tickle. 😂
Might have to make it clearer what the product is for. :)
05:20- Star Wars toys!!
4:18 - I can only imagine how many guys actually tried this, and ended up getting smacked in the face.
And I have to wonder if that's Morgan Fairchild in the Ten-O-Six Lotion ad (#19).
That's not her.
03:57- I guess they changed the song up a little later because I kept expecting the lyrics "with the ultimate flavor ", but they just kept saying "ultimate bubble" over and over and it was really screwing me up...
What's the name of the second YES song?
Roundabout
That's a young Sharon Stone in the Grease Commercial
I thought the same thing
That's not her.
Coke may add life, but Pepsi adds taste👍🏼
6:17--Although this one may not have the staying power of some others, it is one of many great jingles used by Coca-Cola over the years.
WBLS is still around but it is largely R&B.
So....Dave left her because she had bad breath and yellow teeth.
