I grew up in the 70's, you actually had to be attractive to be on TV then. Now dorky bearded men and women with their heads shaved. We're living in an ugly time.

The TWA commercial spokesman is longtime sportscaster Don Criqui, who was about to leave his first stint at CBS for NBC, where he spent the next 19 years (mainly calling the Orange Bowl as well as spending the first half of his time there as the #2 play-by-play broadcaster for NBC's NFL coverage) before returning to CBS in 1998.
Speaking of Criqui, I think this is the first TWA ad he worked on that I've seen where he appeared on-screen.

In the Alka Seltzer ad, it’s renowned bra salesman Sid Farkus! Wonder if he had problems wearing banlon even back then.

We're in the 70s of the 70s ads. How prophetic.

I honestly believe that is the great Sportscaster Don Criqui doing an Airline Commercial! Was and is a hero of mine. Very unique and silky smooth delivery especially during various New Year's Night Orange Bowls in Miami.🤔🏈🍊🎤B.W.

The 80s version of the ABC Sunday Night Movie is my favorite of all the network Sunday night themes, but this version from the 70s is awesome too!

That Right Guard commercial...So a person's future is at stake in the hands of people who can't agree over stick or spray deodorant? He or she is doomed...

For that much deodorant seen there, that must have been a pretty smelly room

This would be only the first time Kurt Russell would play Elvis. In 1994's Forrest Gump, he provided the voice of Elvis during the scene when the young Forrest met him in his room, but Elvis physically was portrayed by a different actor.

Milk- Somehow I doubt that a glass a milk would be the first beverage of choice for a kid playing with a ball like that.
"Battlestar Galactica Will Not Be Seen Tonight..."- I wonder how many Battlestar Galactica fans were annoyed that they couldn't watch that show that night.
Wisk- You're right about that old lady clearly being a witch. She sure disguised her witchy look well with that carnival booth uniform. I bet she stays far away from Wisk in order for it to not ruin her spells.

    0:17--Catchy jingle for milk!
0:46 and 11:20--Looks like there was an "airline war" going on here.
3:52--What ever happened to those Nestle cookie mixes? They look really good. I love the jingle, too.
4:01--I have to admit that I thought "Ring around the collar" was funny at first but quickly wore thin.
    5:43--That Alka-Seltzer slogan/jingle is a true classic.
7:12--Back before aerosol deodorants fell out of favor due to environmental concerns.
7:42--Another great catchy jingle using a classic tune.
8:12--Those are some great classic comedies! Some of them are now rerunning on retro-formatted networks like Me TV and Antenna TV.
9:53--I think Campbell's still makes some of those soups, but they phased out the "Manhandlers" brand years ago.
14:20--Back then I thought "Three's Company" and "Eight Is Enough" were somehow related. It was only years later that I realized they are 2 completely different and unrelated shows that happen to have similar titles and originally aired at the same time.

I'm pretty sure that's Tina Yothers of Family Ties fame on the far left of the TWA ad.

Me and my brother was pissed at the cancellation of Battle Star Galactica. And this was long before the thing and escape from new York. or we probably wouldn't have mind. It being Kurt Russell playing elvis and all. We are worshipping fans now, the man can do no wrong.

Battlestar Galactica wasn’t cancelled yet when this aired. It aired the following week and new episodes continued to air until April of 1979.

Canceling Battlestar Gallactica did not help Richard Hatch's career. He was not happy that Sunday night.
