That Avis commercial...Rent cars with us, and we'll send strange men sneaking into your room in the middle of the night to tell you about your car while you're groggy and sleep-deprived, and you'll likely forget what we told you the night before anyway! Great sales pitch.
Firestone Town And Country Snow Biters Tires- For a simple commercial, it sure has some impressive animation, especially with the tires appearing out of the man's bed. The animation reminds me of some animated specials such as "B.C. The First Thanksgiving".
I love those so much especially the Christmas ones.. brings me back to such a wonderful time in my life.. I miss the innocent time being a kid then, my heart breaks for these kids now a days ! Miss you momma! Wish you were here !! 😢❤️🙏🏻
Firestone - "Pleasant Dreams" yeah thanks after seeing those scary tires! There's Michael Vale in the Avis ad! So Avis was telling him it's time to check the rental car as he makes the donuts! Plus the neat Coleco Combat Telstar as the Atari VCS was making it's holiday debut that year! I also want to see the refridgerator race!
I’m kinda confused when it comes to Michael Landon. He left his first wife for his second wife, and left his second wife for his third wife. He cheated on them all.
That blond haired man they showed in the World's Strongest Man refrigerator race was former Olympic weightlifter and pro wrestler Ken Patera. His older brother was the late former Seattle Seahawks head coach Jack Patera.

@@80sCommercialVault I know that, but a large amount of your viewers have heard it mostly in relation to Ric Flair. Its original name was "Also Sprach Zarathustra."

They'd have been royally screwed if there was an early thaw while they were filming that Sears DieHard commercial... "What the hell happened to the car?" "I dunno, it was here in January...Oh shit, the lake thawed!" "I sure as hell hope they bought the insurance package when they rented it."

Wow; looks like we're watching the 1977 edition of the "Snow Bowl"! 0:09 and 4:47--"Everything you've always wanted in a beer--and less." That was an iconic slogan back in the day. I remember it very well despite being 15 years too young to legally drink the stuff in 1977. 1:18, 11:07, and 17:33--Our family car back then was a Ford Fairmont, purchased new in the fall of 1977. I believe this was the first year for that model. Kind of sad to see Radio Shack going the way of the passenger pigeon. The Telstar Combat game is not unlike the Atari 2600 version of "Combat." Before getting our Atari 2600, we had one of those early Pong games--and I think ours was the Radio Shack brand. 5:47--When I purchased my first (used) car in 1990 (I couldn't--and still can't--afford a new one), my parents warned me to avoid the Pinto. 10:12--"All In The Family" was, and is, a great show! As of 2021 it is rerunning on Get TV, which is available over the air in many parts of the country.
Futura. Typical name that came in boardroom meeting at Ford in 1076. “ we’re building low tech boring cars this decade, let’s give them something to make them think they have futuristic space age technology”
Um, the Futura name came from the Lincoln Futura concept car: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lincoln_Futura This was famously the basis for the 1960s Batmobile.
Bell system should have stayed Bell system. Judge was an idiot in that case. Now we have AT&T for home phone service and they are a monopoly. Their customer service is horrible. Bell system was great. I had South Central Bell and I miss it.
The Bell System *was* a monopoly. That’s why it was broken up. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breakup_of_the_Bell_System And AT&T was the one who proposed the breakup as an alternative to giving up their subsidiary company Western Electric, who produced their telephone equipment.

“It’s a Sony.” One of my favourite ads, featuring my favourite James Bond, George Lazenby! Wonderful to see it again!
1977-1978 MAGIC!!

Yay! These are my favorite. I love the 80s but the 70s stuff highlights a time I was alive but don't remember well. Thanks for these!
10:50 - The Refrigerator Race...Next in Great Pointless Moments in Sports...
I want to buy 4 of those firestone snow-biters for $20 each!
$20 in 1977 = $89.37 when adjusted for inflation.

Ahhhh...the Pinto. America's most explosive car lol
The actor in the Panasonic Quintrix II ad is Ron Masak, who just passed away not long ago.
Robert Pine of CHIPs in the Lowenbrau commercial!
That’s Chris pine’s dad isn’t it? 😆
@@bluetwinkiesaregood It sure is.

Good to know that Jackie Stewart is still with us.
Is that Fred the Donuts guy in the Avis commercial??
i just remembered that i have a cousin named Avis.

19:48 - Those poor Wisconsin fans dealt with all that snow and cold, and that's the score they got for it...
Peter Thomas narrating the Uniflow ad.
Jim Shoulders looks like he could be related to Slim Pickens. "Can I have some more beans Mr. Taggart?" "I'd say you had enough!"
7:43 - Is that Caroline Munro in the Noxzema shaving cream commercial? It looks like her.
yes. th-cam.com/video/NXvfd1Wnk3s/w-d-xo.html
Yep
I wonder if OJ was renting a bronco.......
What is the name of the background song at 10:35?
