Joe strummer…yeah…!! Alyssa was really cute in your chat about music. My daughter’s generation (she’s 23) wearing nirvana t-shirts and Kurt joined the 27 club before they were born. I guess that was my generation falling in love with the Beatles after John was already gone. I remember when what music you listened to made you cool and when my bf at the time copied off tapes and got his jock buddies into janes addiction and then the cheerleaders started wanting to talk to me about how cool janes addiction was and the whole school was twiterpaited with MY secret band and it was ruined!! And my bf wasn’t like a “cool guy” …I met him because I wanted to write songs but I didn’t play instruments so I was looking for a guitar player and my sister told me there was this guy who was always in this one hallway playing guitar at lunch and we started writing songs together and even got a full group together and wrote a song and recorded it and performed it for my dance class?! Yeah that was weird lol. Omg my high school sweetheart and the first song I ever wrote, (he wrote the guitar and I wrote the lyrics and harmonies for my best friend to sing and he brought in a great bass player he knew and we eventually found a drummer…what a fun memory I probably never would’ve thought of if Alyssa hadn’t brought up skinny puppy and ministry…dance club staples at the 500 square foot downstairs of the local “pop” club playing Backstreet Boys and LL Cool J to a packed upstairs club while we did our best catwalks on the dance floor down stairs at the “underground” where the music was…different. But then I had kids and fell back in love with all the pop stars (Gaga, Perry, Spears) singing along to poker face with my kids in the car like we were pop stars lol…like when I was a kid and we had Madonna and cyndi lauper and eurythmics and my daughter was the k-pop fan. Oh music. Makes the world go round ☺️☺️☺️.
