I enjoy some kids' shows because of the lighthearted tone. Chip and Potato has Mandarin audio option. It is a nice show with cute stories. If you're looking for something elementary, this is my recommendation
我的妈呀! Take My Brother Away is so funny and cute. I started watching this on my own for listening practice a couple of weeks ago and it's such a great show! Highly recommended. Yinru, I love your videos!
Unless I use a VPN, which slows things down, the only series I can access where I live and find worth watching are: Well-Intended Love (奈何BOSS要娶我) and Meteor Garden ( 流星花园). Funnily enough, if I were to believe everything these series depict then China, despite its population density, must have some of the emptiest hospitals in the world - which I surmise is either because Chinese people rarely get ill or because there is one hospital for about every twenty citizens. I recently started watching Find Yourself (下一站是幸福), but so far it doesn't pack the same irreverent punch as the first two series I mentioned. I remember in Meteor Garden when Dong Shan Cai's (董杉菜) mother anxiously phoned the police when she didn't return home one evening and the police asked her to describe her daughter, she replied, "She has a big bum." I'll give Take Away my Brother a try. Watching these shows, it''s great to be able to press Pause and look up any characters I don't know in the subtitles - even if they are full form, which I still find more challenging than simplified characters, despite having started with full form characters at the beginning of my journey. 多谢你的建议。
It is a bit annoying due to the adverts (unless you go premium) but if it works in your region you may try viki: it has a lst of series "made to learn" mandarin: the episode have both character and engish subtitles, and if you want the pinyin you can also click on the words www.viki.com/collections/316981l-learn-the-basics-chinese?locale=it

I found "Take My Brother Away" before finding this list. It is a fun, quirky show. I am glad to learn that it is a good source for clear Mandarin.

why should I turn simplified chinese subs on?
Write "mandarin" on netflix search. You will get many titles on Mandarin.
