For some reason the traditional John Deere riding mower cuts amazing but the zero turns don’t. I wonder if the hydraulics Hogg up power that the deck needs.
I used to own that same mower and the ride quality was not good, very rough. I really enjoyed everything about that mower for the most part but the cut quality was not very good. I swapped out the factory blades for Oregon high lifts and it helped but still, just not that good. I cut northern turf, fescues, kentucky bluegrass, and rye grass. I too would also have the mower engine cut out with the right bumps.
Its a shame this is dropping when the new deere q800's are fixing to come out. I realize you filmed in the fall, but the new standers are completely new and have 7 iron decks, something people have been waiting for. Deere gets a big fat F for getting the new machines out onto the internet. There are only a couple short videos and supposedly they are fixing to ship to dealers. I dont know what they are doing, surely they can afford some marketing, because they keep raising prices every year. If anyone at deere sees this, get your marketing together, and send Pete a new model when you have one, and get more info out in videos.
if im paying a crazy cost for a MOWER like buying a car, the mower better be performing like a golden goose. Sounds like this mower performs like a lump of coal...ill pass on this one...over priced and under performed....love this vid series you are the best
dude if you make a video waste your time get the latest best commercial equipment deere has a new stand on with the 7 iron deck you should know this. this screwed the whole series up for me I'm sorry
JOHN DEERE LENDED him this mower to use. Not Pete’s fault. JOHN DEERE should have gave him the “latest and greatest”. Pete spent a lot of time doing this, you should thank Pete, not act like this is his fault.
I hope you get a chance to review the brand new series from Deere and give some insights on how it compares to the old.
I had several of these, I wasn’t blown away by cut quality but they were built to last
Great video never ran their stand on mowers but love their tractors
Sorry my friend that's John Deere s old design the dealer should have given you the new 800 series stander AgPro?
No kidding, I've been so curious about it.
Test the new equipment not the model T,s
Yes. It's exactly like my 2013 QuikTrak 648. That deck drives me crazy because it clogged so easily with grass.
Pete, you could have just lumped this in with the Wright video lol...its just a different paint color lol
I have jd quicktrack 652r and 661r to get a good quality cut to change blades to oregon g6. And it made a big difference, no strugglers, and cut fine.
Darn was hoping this would be 800 series I’d love your opinion on those
The baffles are removeable because you can install a mulch kit. I had one on mine and its awesome for clean ups with high lift blades
Awesome series Pete!!
Seems like they could come up with some sort of shock absorbers that might make the ride smoother.

My z950m has the best cut quality of any mower I've used
Hydros were being built by children that are immigrants. Hummm wonder how many American companies are up to this.

100% oil changes are a pain trying to put an oil pan under the mower! Great mower!
Wright gave John Deere the build right for this mower. It's just a Wright Stander X with a couple mods.

Yeah i was really hoping to get that new one for sure!
Yep, it’s a shame because I think those new ones are going to be very nice
I can easily get that oil filter off with my big "rear end" channel locks. And I suck out all my oil. Ain't fightin' with no drain plug.
You drain the hydraulic fluid by removing the hydraulic oil filter
Tip speed is 18,500 put gator mulch blade on and it will change the cut quality a lot better grass disperse will be better I have 3 of these mowers
Do you machines have the MOD deck?
I didn’t get mulch on demand but you can get it as option
👍🏻

The new stander was not available at the time this was filmed
