I won't be giving a comprehensive review of any of the handhelds here, just giving a general overview and a jumping off point for those who might want more info :) Buy/Check the prices here: DataFrog SF2000: s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DeH... Miyoo A30: s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DE6... R36S: s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DDo...
I have both the A30 and R36S, really good devices. For the A30 i would just caution that it does get very warm, its a tiny device without much heat ventilation. The R36S is really good for the price, the screen is said to be even better than some in the higher price ranges. Buttons are not the best and the feel of the device seems a little cheap but overall a good starter device.
I would MASSIVELY recommend the SF2000. I had tons of issues with the Miyoo screen, while I never had any sort of issue EVER with my multiple DataFrogs that I play extensively.
R36s For the Win out of these choices. With expectations in check...PS1 and earlier. PSP, N64, Dreamcast, Naomi, and Saturn are not playable. At least not all of the romsets....so I omit them because of that reason. But with Ps1 And earlier...and all of the Arcade games you can put on a custom image.....you will still have approximately 15,000 games on a 128g sd card. Go for a 256gb if you want many Ps1, Sega cd, and Neo Geo cd games. Enjoy!
Bought the SF2000, the R36s and the Powkiddy V90 as birthday gifts for myself. I also got the GB300 for my daughter as her own first handheld. I was amazed that I was able to get these 4 consoles for less than 100 dollars. Already have the A30 in my wishlist. Maybe in a couple of weeks I will buy it as a more EDC/pocket friendly handheld.
The SF2000 gets a lot more grief than it deserves for its price. It's twenty dollars, man! Back in the 1990s, twenty dollars would get you a Tiger handheld, or a Pro 200, which plays really primitive Tetris clones (and is a calculator... whoo hoo).

Nice thanks for the battery warnings, I think it's important especially for parents.
