In the early days of (British) motorcycle fabrication, the young employees would take the finished bikes out into the local countryside and villages to test them. They were ridden up hills, across creeks, on dusty rough tracks until the bikes were considered adjusted correctly for the terrain. Unfortunately, this no longer happens, and all bike are tested indoors at the factory. It used to be a privilege and fun to test bikes. . .
It is quite cool to realize that one of these might have been part of the team that assembled my R1200GSA - Much thanks to those guys and BMW for making a truly remarkable machine!
The person riding it balance it in the same way as riding it at speed, the rolls simulate the bike moving, gyroscopic effect of the wheels is part of it.
Cool video, hats off to the workers and Engineers who can make these bikes, and those who can afford to buy one. But, i worked on German products in America for 28 years, and that is why i will not buy a German car or bike.
