I love to listen to your commentary. You have a great sense of humor that I can appreciate. Keep uploading the videos and we'll keep watching. Stay safe.
Some of the lessons I learned from you are: 1. Never criticize another man's work, 2. Keep the cursing to a minimum (it's just metal!), 3. Develop your skills to the extent that your finished product does all the talking, not your mouth bragging, 4. Stick around an area long enough to see your own failures and learn/grow from them, 5. The more you can tackle with the torch, the less you have to grind, 6. Take your time to do the forensics of a failure and be willing to be your own worst critic. Someday I hope you are recognized and richly rewarded for the videos you share. Each one is an absolute gem, and each one is packed with your wisdom and skill. With much respect!

IC WELD.. you should start a series of basic welding, cutting, rod selection etc for the absolute beginner. I am 85 now, a graduate Civil Engineer and have a ton of experience welding. Maybe an hour on an old Lincoln stick welder. Several of us worked summers in the engineering lab testing pullout strength of re bars from about 12 “ x 12” x 3 ft concrete slabs, on a testing machine simulating continuous reinforced pavement back in the 60’s . Here I am watching every one of your videos and a ton of very basic questions come up. If I asked them during your current videos your experts in your audience would laugh me off the I pad. I would love to try a Plasma cutter and MIG welding but I have nothing no need to weld or cut and no welding tools. I’ll bet your new audience would love your “on line” courses. I am enthralled with your problem solving and steady hands. You are a credit to your trade. Maybe you could generate Income and satisfaction in retirement that would be a help encouraging young people to enter the trade. A small appliance repairman friend tells me it is absolutely impossible to find young people interested in learning his trade. America better wake up. The Mexicans are coming and they are not afraid to learn roofing, carpentry, and similar trades. They work like hell. Soon they will be learning the more exotic trades. My daughter hired 3 Mexicans to set 500 posts creating pastures in the new mini horse farm she was building. The Mexican boys had to be forced inside during thunder storms and their fence lines were perfect. My daughter had to resort to high school Spanish -Because they spoke no English. Like I just said...WAKE UP AMERICA !!!!! The wolves are at the door. Thanks for wonderful videos. JoeB

An interesting job that made for a great video subject. All the work described and done to a very high standard indeed. Thanks for uploading the lesson young man, very much appreciated! Also, brick acid or diluted hypochlorite with water will dissolve the concrete off anything and clean it back to metal. Make sure you have a bucket to catch the washings, don't breathe any fumes and dispose of the liquid safely when done. I have cleaned up concrete mixers and equipment using this safely and it does a great job.
@@ICWeld Thank you for replying young man. Be careful how you handle it, patio cleaner is the same stuff and it can be bought in builders merchants or online. Many users don't know longer torches can make more precise cuts because the greater distance of the controlling hand from the work reduces tip movement for a given amount of handle movement. I used to assemble (pro torch rebuilders still do if you ask) extended Victor combination torch cutting heads by taking the head with tubes and mixer from a donor ST torch with the same style exposed nuts on the gas tubes (they're the old style straight torches) to install on Journeymen sized CA 2460 series combo torch heads. Repair welders liked them because you got a long torch that fits in a smaller toolbox so your combo torch kit does more for you. It's just plumbing and nothing different from replacing the stock short tubes per the factory manual. Kind of a niche tool but rebuilders have extended combo torches for many years because mobile welders with Texas style beds or trailers like to travel light and maintenance welders like combo torches. If you can tighten two nuts then leak check with water you can do the same.
