HI, many thx for your videos, always interesting for creality scanner owners, I suggest to be paid by creality , we leanr more from you than from crealitiy 🙂
I wonder if they are going to fix the issue with the amount of markers needed. Definitely the blue laser is the way to go but really annoying the tracking loss.
Very impressive, the raptor is superb the only backdraw is the number of marker, I can't imagine if you need to scan a complete car. Thank you for your effort
Thank you for sharing your work, can you do a color mapping / texture quality test? I am very interested in this feature and curious to see the difference between these two Creality scanners
The Raptor performed better for the first time, I’m really looking forward to the videos with the pros and cons of both competitors, I still can’t choose which one to buy)))
Raptor in laser mode will give much higher detail with smaller 200x100 mm scanning area. But I can't tell for Raptor NIR vs Einstar. I don't have Einstar to try.
I bought Raptor last week. For now it doesn't work as I want to. Maybe Otter would be better for me or maybe I need more time to learn how to use Raptor.
@@smudgepost No, you can't use plain white dot on Otter and Raptor. It requires reflective marker 3mm and 6mm exactly. It will detect plain white dots, but it will give wrong detection range and wired tracking.
i feel like they need to fix that in software for doing larger not hurting the point cloud detail shame the raptor takes so long with so many markers because it looks great
@@Payo-TensileCreator 😂😂😂 That’s gold!!! Thank you for making me laugh. I watched a 3d scanning video tutorial the other day, I thought of you when watching. It involved putting markers on masking tape(high quality). They ran two lines of masking tape, with attached markers, down a car door panel. They scanned, the door and then moved the two lengths of masking tape, on a second scan. In post processing the sections where the tape was present, was deleted, and then a merge/align process was performed. The end result was cancelling out all of the markers, when merging the two scans. 🇦🇺😎🤜🏼🤛🏼🍀☮️☮️☮️
@@Payo-TensileCreator P.S. I just ordered an Otter and Raptor. I trust your feedback of the otter and raptor, not to mention your work experience in 3d scanning for civil engineering. When you say “Wow” when seeing the the results of both scanners… It makes me know, these scanners are a bit special, and definitely not gimmicky toys. 🇦🇺😎🤜🏼🤛🏼😂🍀☮️
The Raptor is mind blowing how much detail it picks up.
I have learned so much thanks to you Payo.

That's amazing
One of the best 3d scanning videos i have seen so far. Wow!
Yay! Thank you!

Many thanks for the detailed and informative videos. I am considering buying the raptor. Your videos are very helpful for me. Great work.
Thanks for the comparison! This will save us $$$$ and time deciding which one to get for our work.
Glad I could help!
Simple yet effective test! Very useful information, thank you!
Another great comparison 🫡

I think the raptor is the best choice, the most important thing is the quality of the model
great stuf you are doing here! I'm checking all the videos :)
Welcome aboard!
good video, but between the Einstar and the Raptor, which one do you recommend? also for scanning sections of cars

It would look wild at night with headlights shining on the markers. 😂

Maybe make a box that's aprx the same size as the viewing window so when you place markers you can make sure you have enough in the area?
Maybe they should make one with blue laser only? If that would reduce the price. When would you use the NIR mode with the Raptor?
I only use Raptor's NIR for making review video. Otter's NIR is far more superior.
Hi did you cross check with tge accuracy how much it will provide
Error is less than 1mm when I check with handheld laser.
I bought Raptor last week. For now it doesn't work as I want to. Maybe Otter would be better for me or maybe I need more time to learn how to use Raptor.
Raptor NIR mode doesn't track well, try the blue laser mode, I think it's easier to scan with.
@@Payo-TensileCreator Thank you for sugesstion. It looks that I need more markers and it starts work.
@@Karol-ip6vx I dont own a raptor, but for markers.. Standard rule is to alwayus have 3 markers inside the svan area
:)
Would be super interesting vs Einstar
Einstart contacted me, but when I say I'd do intensive comparison test with Otter if they would lend me a unit, they just disappeared.
Does the processing remove the markets automatically?
Yes, it does pretty job removing the markers.
@@Payo-TensileCreator do you know if official markers are mandatory? I was planning to use sticky paper spots from stationery stores.

What laptop are you using ?
Asus TUF A15 (2024) ryzen 9 8945HS, RTX 4070
how about a system that puts down and picks up markers.
I used my kids to peel them off. That's my system.

@@stevesloan6775 I hope you enjoy using them as I do.
Wondering if Otter could scan whole room...
these scanners are not made for room scanning .. can you kinda but it will be difficult unles syou have a lot of stuff around the room/ features
So raptor does not offer large size mode?
Yes, it does has small, medium and large mode with NIR but the scanning module is only one. It gives maximum scanning size of an A4 paper.
Raptor top)
