Damn Grigor os deadly these days.
Hope he does a Wawrinka and wins a late career slam
I doubt it honestly. Stan was in his prime from age 28-32. Dimitrov already is 32
Для этого ему понадобится выиграть не один турнир в конце карьеры а целых три...а в такой компании которая сейчас имеется в мужской сетке это нереально...я сомневаюсь да почти уверен что он не сделает ни одного раза!))
a slam isn't likely, but i would love to see him win a masters of even a 500.
@@Marc-vk7rl Age Is not a problem at 32, Dimi is ageing good, he's capable of winning more masters1k.
@@alfiomartins5390 I don't know man. He already is quite injury prone and it's hard even for younger players to win seven best of five matches in a row. Dimi is also not the kind of guy to win matches fast. And I don't think there ever was a player who won his first slam after 32 and there is a reason for that
I saw an article explaining that Dimitrov took a lot of muscle 6 months ago (he had a period where he was very skinny), and that according to his coach it started to pay off, and that's quite impressive honestly!
Probably explains his faster serve these days, he’s added 10-15km/h to his serve speeds
Bad luck for Andy to run into Grigor in the first round. Dimitrov has been playing very well for all of 2023. I do hope that the most "Federer-esque" player after Federer himself can grab a major title in '24.
2:10 bro is total menace 😢😢😢😢❤❤
The overhead at 2:02 is crazy work
Facts, crowd didn’t realise how nearly impossible an overhead of that quality from that deep in the court was
With a broken string!
A tennis commentator claiming shot of the year on January the 1st.
New Year's Day wouldn't be the same without it😂😂
Tbh he was right to say that, isn't he 😂
I mean it would definitely be in the top 10 of the year. That was just such an incredibly difficult shot from a technical perspective, I think we can all agree on that one!
@@30Shimmy yes of course!
Hitting that ball with broken stings? 😂 unbelievable
I'm not sure if I've ever seen Grigor play this well prior to recent times. I hope he keeps this up!!
happy to see grigor on this level again, what an athlete
Grigor's backhand during last months is marvelous
It’s always awesome to see grigor hit those hard backhands
Dimitrov is a legend
To be fair, I wasnt expecting this to go to a 3rd set.
It’s a Murray match, it’s always expected to go the distance
Murray was the only player to take a set off him the whole week.
The slice is such a weapon… Murray hates that tempo break
What a PLAYER Dimitrov is turning out to be since the last year! His time may have arrived finally, deserves to win a slam or two at this level really👍
Dimi can still play wicked tennis..
Jeez people have you even watched the game? If he plays like he did in this game it's definitely not his time lol
I want to be proved wrong..I've got a lot of respect for that guy. He was a great player once...but come on now!
i like dimitrov but i don't see him rewriting the records and becoming a first time grand slam winner at the age of 32-33. i think another master's 1000 is definitely possible if he can maintain his recent level
Tbf beating Andy is routine these days, real test is can he beat Djokovic in the finals or semis? If so, then yes, he most like will win a finals.
Well done Grigor! 👏
What a great athlete is Dimitrov, I hope he will win a grand slam soon 🤞
MIster MURRAY, just one word to you...
RESPECT
The word you're looking for is RETIRE.

@@Freedomon832so nadal retire as well????
Happy New Year
What a game Grigor
Andy looked good against one of the top guys right now. Impressive. I hope both players do well this season.
Wow! Dimitrov avenges his Brisbane final loss to Murray.
Eleven years later!!!!
Dimitrov playing incredible...so good and has slight playstyle of Federer
Another 1st January, another shot of the year
yeah forget everyone else for the rest of the year... this shot is a shutout!
Andy played very well as well. 👏👍🌞
My hat goes off to Andy.... what an athlete!!!
What a genius 1:25
Vamos Grisho ostia danos un 2024 perfecto a tus fans, sigue así.
Great Dimitrov, begins 2024 like he ended 2023!🎉
Dimitrov picking up where he left off last year
Technically Dimitrov much better to watch - the variety !!! Браво !!!
2:13 "Im too fucking good, what can I say, sorry"
That shot of Dimitrov was fantastic congrats🎾👏✨️
Player Legend.
It's 1st of January 2024 and we already have a contender for shot of the year 😂
This was nice to watch, two classic players kickin booty
Dimitrov playing really well
Can’t believe it’s 2024 already, hope Dimitrov comes back this year, he’s already playing out of this world🤯🤯🤯
The real test is at the AO2024 bo5, winning Murray here is sort of expected, and it went to 3 sets, if he was 'that great,' he'd have finished him in 2.
@@pauljohnson6019 aww, now I wish I’d asked for your opinion
cap backwards looks so childish, i dont know why. great game from dimitrov
I love Dimitrov. I am salivating that he could play our Rafa again. They haven't played together in so long and am still kicking myself for missing their friendly match years ago in my backyard here in Atlanta.
😢
😮 2:20 o I(I oil I p🎉😮oooooo 2:53 😮😅😅😅😅😅😮😢p😊 3:09
You're salivating, let's not get too excited, we don't want cum going out from the other end due to excitement.😆
Both player, Brilliant
It seems that the crowd all supported Dimitrov. Congratulations to Dimitrove.
Its funny Murray more times than not has been getting rough draws on the atp tour. Its almost like someone in the atp has it in for him.
Grigor brought some punishing tennis to this match.
Dimitrov is improving
02:10 Holy cow, for a sudden I was thinking is it video game?? 😮😮😮😮
Well, you know Murray's not winning this if you havent seen the result already, because the people who edit the highlights always make it so obvious. First set, only shows points won by Dimitrov, then suddenly it's set point Murray and he takes it. So, immediately, I think "right, so I guess Murray's losing in three today then..."
Can see Fed in this match. Congrats Dmit
Hope Grigor has another big year full of w’s
What left me an impression the most today from this match was that Wilson rackets may be a little unreliable.
Total Dunning-Kruger....
Wrong impression
Congrats, Dimitrov.
2:07, yeah that is definitely a shot in the year.
1:25 point of the year. how Murray did return to the court, genious
2:14 "shots of the year"? When you hit a smash full length of the court with broken strings and it hits the line it's *_definitely not shot of the year - it's mainly luck....._*
It felt very lucky courtside. Everyone was surprised it dropped in, break point down too. A miss there takes it to a tiebreak
Great match from Grigor. Andy is done. Andy will never challenge for another slam or masters 1000. He just isnt at the level any more.
Murray is still a monster!
Grigor is defiantly improving. Might be a breakthrough year.
If only Andy had played more proactively in his main career, he'd have done a lot better. But, he's come back from injury a metre off the pace and playing a more proactive game he's not used to. And modern tennis has got flatter and harder - not suiting Andy's loopy style. Still, he's push what I regard as a top-10er in Grigor and I reckon he can be top-20 this year.
What’s going on with Dimitrov his game is looking incredible as of late🤔
Well done Dimitrov…🇧🇬
Мачкай, Гришо! The best is yet to come! Be ready!
Браво пич!
Well done
Great from Andy and then Grigor takes it out, a terrific match.
Dimitrov always gives me Federer's vibes
Federer choke vibes!😃
البلغاري يبدو في قمة الاستعداد ليفجر مفاجئة
Its sad to watch murray like this, he use to own players like grigor in his prime and was legit a member of a Big 4, his stats etc at the end of 2016 were comfortably putting him in the top 10 in every thing other than slam wins.
I think he should retire after wimbledon, what is the point of all the pain and losses when he is relatively young, a beautiful young family and more money than he could spend in 20 lifetimes.
Ive been a fan of his since he broke out in 2005 but not everyone can be djokovic. sad reality of life.
He was never a Big 4.
@@masters.1000 He was, up until 2016. Were you born yesterday?
Why do you care? It's not your business
Not everyone can be Djokovic, but Djokovic can be a Djokobitch!🤣😂
All i know him is that he was the only player from outside big 3 who could be would no. 1 while couldn't even top 2. He even stole djokovic's world no. 1 and ATP finals title in 2016!
Could be the court surface or the camera angle, but I thought murray was hitting his forehand with more authority and flatter than usual-which is what he needs more of. Dimitrov just has too much athleticism, though. Good effort from Murray; hope Dimi can continue his great 2023 season into 2024.
If all ATP matches were best of out 1, Murray would have been the GOAT
Queen is back 🎉
What's Murray's purpose right now? Truly. Does he really believe he can work his way back up to consistently compete with the top guys? Or is he just being stubborn and is just being a slave to his desire?
He's World number 42 rn. Quite impressive
Hopefully he's just still doing what he has loved for most of his life, and still enjoying the whole process. Just as hopefully however is that he has a vision of a path for his future after tennis.
Stupid comment. He can do whatever the f*ck he likes, he still beats most players so maybe shut up?
@@Dream-on7ps True, but does he remain grateful? Does his gratitude outshine his frustrations?
@@hiwayman981 @hiwayman981 I hope he's honest and realistic about that. He's probably hoping for one more major. If there's one technical thing I would like for him to fix, it's his forehand stance. I would like to see what happens when he closes it more when he can.
Bravo 👏 This time you showed character and the confidence that you must show every single time to be one of the best keep up the good work
All Bulgaria 🇧🇬 is with you and watching your games we always keep crossed fingers 🤞 for your wins
For me personally i felt when I was watching the match that Grishata has a game plan that he executed perfectly
Murray was a fantastic player, but it is time to go. Credit to him for playing with a metal hip.
Murray will be 50 and still competing in slams. He might be playing Federer junior in the next 14 years.
Think he'll go when he wants to go. V competitive against a top 15 player is not a sign he needs to retire this week
In early Septemeber he announced that he has separated from his girlfriend and is single and his form skyrocketed ever since! He is on a 15-5 streak, only losses are from top 10 players. Fully expect him to be back in top10, unless he loses his focus over some girl again or keeps replacing coaches every other month.
Murray thought he was Novak at 36 for a moment!
Dimitrov: 'hold my beer!'
I just dont know what is Murray trying whole time to prove, he’s old and he should go retire already!
Idk why don't you randos mind your own business. Guess you don't have any. Djokovic is old too
feel bad for murray at this point. first with adm and now with grigor
Most tennis professional players after major injuries will be incredibly difficult to come back as a champ!
Not bad from the practise court champ
Andy was underestimating Grigor's speed/mobilty
Bulgaria 🇧🇬
IS THIS THE REAL LIFE? IS THIS JUST FANTASY?
So happy that #dimitrov has defeated steady & sticky Murray.
I expect him to win this title.
Best 🍀
Dont get me wrong, I'm glad Dimitrov is doing well and he played well to beat Andy. It's taken him quite a while to perform to the level of his obvious natural talent. However, we'll see if Dimitrov reaches the success Murray has. I highly doubt it though. "Steady & sticky" Murray went head to head with 3 of the greatest players ever in Nadal, Fed & Djok and still hit top ranking and won majors, so a little respect, eh?
I agree!
Djokovic will wipe the floor with these two but between them, they played well
Nah he won’t
Vamos rafaaa
So will Medvedev and Alcaraz, heck even Rubelev.
Andy murray is outdated now. But, i'm so shocked that murray could rob ATP finals title from djokovic and year-end world no. 1 in 2016 -2017. He even is the only player from outside big 3 to be able to be world no. 1 while the others couldn't even top 2 since 2002 - 2022 cuz of big 3 domination
he had one of the worst injuries you can get at 29 otherwise he'd have had a few more majors I believe.
@@ChorltonOutlaw Sadly he never comes back after his injury. Nadal was injured too, but he could come back stronger
@@wimzswimz9843 Murray had a much worse injury, no other singles player has recovered to play top level tennis with Murray’s injury
In my opinion it just shows how good Andy actually was. He was within an era containing 3 of the best players EVER, and he still managed to win majors, tour titles and even hold the top ranking. Whether he won or lost, some of the matches between him and Fed, Rafa & Novak were legendary.
I'm biased as I'm British, but his wins at Wimbledon were incredible. We never thought we'd have a player get anywhere near a major title let alone at Wimbledon- the pressure on him must have been immense. So big respect to you for giving Andy the credit he rightly deserves 👏
Murray should improve agressive shots to run less and play shorter points but it looks like he didn't change nothing. Started the year as he ended 2023, with a match almost win and finally loose. Sad for him
I wonder if Murray should change his tension in his ratchets ,or change to a new one ,his tennis game is there, but since the injury he will be hitting the ball different before it.
Murray 2 dimensional..play was never going to trouble dimi. Only prolong the inevitable. Very prone to drop shot and his ranking will be dropping. Its time I think
Oh reall why it was 3 setter then? Clearly you haven't watched the game
Just highlights. However we all know his style of play is not going to help him. 6-2 doesn't sound like it was even close
Tennis community used to call him Baby Fed once. Baby no more
Shot of the year and its January 1st😂
حبيبنا يا ديمي هارد لاك اندي
And Gran'pa Pushray goes home. Wonderful.
No way he's grandpa for you creep What are you 4?
Most of your comments are negative, aren't they Mr FridgidMan. Get some help. As making yourself feel better due to someone else's misfortune clearly shows you're empty inside and don't like yourself. I hope you fix your weaknesses.
Love Grandpa Murray. Fdh.
I was really believing Murray would do it !
Dmitrov moving like a 20 yr old.
Well, he beat Alcaraz, Medvedev and Tsitsipas in the space of 3 weeks a couple of months ago.
Nah
@@sasho888prmyeah In Paris, I was there watching
It's totally unfair.. this video shows only points won by Dmitrov, although the first 2 sets were really tied.. it's a shame this behaviour against Andy Murray
May be because Grigor made 46 winners, Andy only 16.
It was odd to show 3 Dimitrov winning points in the first set that Murray won though haha@@millenium13constantin58
Murray defeated by Dimitrov, I forgot when last Murray win or time to retire
Obviously this isn’t the whole match but it is so painful to see Murray content with NOT going for winners off the baseline. Almost all his shots from there are neutral, most points he gets are forced opponent errors or volleys if he can force someone out of position…
Always a great day when the diva Murray loses!
Murray just said fuck it in the third set
Ran out of steam
Andy's level is by far lower than his prime years. He looked as an amateur in this match.
He didn't
We believe these 2 guys play tennis at a top level until they play against Djokovic...
Alcaraz has entered the chat.
I really don't understand why Murray ran around his backhand so much this match
Murray's shouting is so annoying. It is defo distracting for opponents . He isn't used to shout that bad while running when he was a top top player
Far less annoying than Sabalenka's ones !
How about all the women who sound like they're moaning?
Murray should retire! I mean if he is not willing or able to change it up and evolve, get more aggressive and penetrating on the forehand side, just let it go. Don't shutter the incredible image of so many years! Back at his prime, he could afford to have an average forehand. His feet were more than making up against 99% of the Tour. He was one of the best defenders ever. Now, he can't chase balls like he used to. He needs to take more risks, hit harder. Which he doesn't. Either he is not willing or not able! Can't get results playing like this and i for one can't see the joy of just keep playing without any real results. Not for a competitor like him! If he does though, then by all means. Who am i to say otherwise?
Sure if some internet random says so
@@Nat-oj2uc Pretty sure you didn't even read the whole comment, bozo! Acting smart much, hey? Yeah, won't work out much for you in life.
