@krollpeter the msian gov are just helping the spore gov. It's pay and pay scheme worked so well for 59 yrs. So the msian counterpart tries a couple of scheme to get money from most obliging sporeans. As usual right.

As of 2023 there are 964863 vehicles registered with the LTA that are not taxis ir buses. Lets say 10% of these vehicles want to go to malaysia which is 96486 vehicles. It took VEP at woodlands 6 days to cover 120 cars which is 20 a day on avg. It would take 4824.3 days to finish registering all those vehicles. Which is equivalant to 13.22 years to finish registering all those cars. That means our VEP renewal and COE could potentially last shorter than the time it takes to register our car for malaysia VEP. Doesnt make any sense. Either make the system more efficient or dont use it at all.
Another half baked policy with implementation issues on the ground. Their transport minister Anthony Loke is just another idiot. Just boycott Malaysia for 6 months and let’s see how JB businesses complain.
What is wrong? announcement ws done 6 mths ago? we gave you ample time for you to decide whether to install or not. When given choices singaporean tend to not knowin what to do because eveything you all did was enforced by govt. Even manners is enforced and as soon as you left your borders the manners is all gone
Can i ask the sg people why cant they send the vep to your home and you install yourself? In malaysia, physical road tax last time send to us and we install ourselves.
there system is to deregister expired 5 year VEP and then renew, i followed, but since 6 months from now still cannot get the new one due to e-wallet issue recently, they should let those who have the existing VEP paid a sum to extend it?? easier that way!!
Instead having those cars without VEP turned back, Malaysia gonna let them in so it can fined them and earn few K. Very doubtful about the jail penalty for it cost money to house the drivers in jail. 🙄🙄🙄
VEP was announced in 2017, all foreign-registered vehicles must apply, the scheme has been in force since 2019. In July 2024, Anthony Loke give deadline by Oct. 1, No VEP No Entry, then all of a sudden a mad long rush by Sporeans, as usual 'tidak apa" last minute attitude.
They aim to install 100 cars a day. We are about 11 days away from 1 October. That is 1100 cars. Let's see if traffic on the Causeway and Tuas on the first weekend of October. 1200 cars can cause a jam!
YB Loke please do these 4 things: (i) raise the entry toll for Singaporean cars to RM100 at Johor when they enter so that they won't keep taking advantage of Malaysians and Malaysia, this will prevent them from keep buying Malaysia's subsidised items and bring them back to Singapore (ii) if Singaporean cars found to be pumping RON95, haul them to court straight and if found guilty impose jail sentence, that will deter them from stealing our subsidies , at the moment petrol stations are being fined and this is stupid, should punish the culprit instead (ii) Singaporeans must pay 400% additional buyer stamp duty when buying houses in Johor, if buy RM1mil, must pay RM4mil taxes, this will also protect locals and prevent them from taking advantage, this will be great source of revenue for Madani government (iv) Singaporean cars shouldn't be allowed to pump RON97 (because it is still significantly cheaper than pumping in Singapore), so create a levy so that all Singaporean cars if pump petrol in Malaysia, must pay minimum RM10 per litre for petrol, this for sure will prevent abuse and Malaysians being taken advantage of and a great source of revenue for government all these measures will protect locals' interest
Causeway and Tuas is the busiest customs in the world. And they make only 120 cars for every week. I think by the time you got your queue, the car would be at the tail end of coe. 😮
Singaporean will still be going to Malaysia for cheap groceries, shopping, petrol etc. even a lot of them have been migrated to Johor and Penang the popular states that Singaporeans love. However, one factor to stop them from going to Malaysia is to lower the cost of living in Singapore.
@megantan89 I'm very sure the numbers will go down significantly for the next 3 months. Now the Malaysians are providing transports for only abt $280 for 10 hrs. They will pick up from wherever you are in Singapore and the van can take 8 passengers. So it's only $40/passenger to go shopping in JB for abt 5-6 hrs. Singaporeans might leave their cars and do just that for groceries and shopping.
my case special : I cannot renew my second VEP sucessfully at the very last step because of below reason, i have change my HP number but the ewallet website cannot perform update, email requesting for update also no use, very bad and lousy system.
Agree with @eric6, TNG service thousand times better than vep jpj and tcsens. Got my hp nos and nric nos solved during first chat with their customer service staff. Cheers to TNG!
Why not Singpaore also impose VEP for Msia vehicles coming in SG everyday? I can bet that our LTA / traffic police can issue lots of summons happily everyday, by the way they drive and ride , dangerously on the road.
All i'm hearing are excuses. Excuses after excuses. None of the stakeholders propose a solution or showed any attempted to improve the flawed process. 1 more week to the big day! Let's go!
I am a PH driver and I travel every morning to Tuas or Woodlands every morning during peak hour. If I am authorise to issue summon with a commission basis, I don't have to drive PH car. Trust me... LTA and Traffic Police, please wake up and be more proactive.

@capricorn839 that's the 'plan'. RM10 to be collected first. So take the RM10 mil+++ first, then talk later😂😂😂😂😂
It would be better for both countries working together and cooperate even more, instead of installing more and more taxes and fees.
