- Years of delays have likely pushed Malaysia's Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP) requirement for foreign vehicles to the back of the minds of Singaporean drivers.
But all that is likely to change now with an update by Malaysia's Transport Ministry: That it will resume enforcement of the VEP, come 1 October 2024.

I stuck the rfid tag on the left passenger side wind screen, and it was REJECTED. Only allowed to stick on head lamp! Thanks to this video, I had to pay another $17.

Mine was on passenger side and approved. Not true only headlight. But it was 2 months ago.

@@senglee82 rejection email you mean? Upload a photo of the RFID attached to headlamp. Once approved, peel it off and stick it to your windscreen. Problem solved. 😂
I called their hotline, yes only paste on the headlights.
They will fail if we paste on the windshield.

I have had two VEPs RFIDS installed.
Sold one car, retain its number plates during covid period. Was informed through email need to over the counter deregistered with LTA eviidence and re-register.
Whole system was put on freeze during covid (still paying RM20), and many of their resources were relocated, and respextive departments closed.
Coming this Oct 2024, there is no way to update profile theough website, be it address changed, passport changed etc, and they do not reply to emails or any enquiries.
This reimplementation, seems poorly thought out as was previous.

Applied and goty VEP tag in 2 weeks via postage, but.am sceptical on pasting on the headlamp and place inside the car windshield. Got rejected for activation cause I paste on the windshield by TCSENS. They want to apply again. Just keep paying lor.
I'm unable to make changes/update in the portal as the information is already outdated. Wrote email to the authority and no respond at all... this problem will make us not driving into Malaysia...

First of all, they are jpj website are so bad designed it keeps lagging.
When it was first launched, I registered my car and now since my old car has been scrapped can't even remove the old car details.
But then again, Malaysia been Malaysia.

@@jokerjoki5998 It is a very good idea. Now Singaporean PR (actually Malaysian) who had to drive a SG registered car will think twice before going back daily.
Understand your frustration. Imho, better adopt wait and see approach to see if the system is smoothly operating or not.
You have to update your video , cannot put the RFID on the windscreen , I got rejected . Must be on the left headlamp

My car is a leased car (I am not the car owner). How do I apply for the VEP then?
I have my VEP on my old car, I sold it and Retained my old car plate. I have submitted new log card. Unfortunately they can't new VEP since 2022. I have wrote email last week still no replied. I can't delete old vep on my Touch and go wallet. Luckily I have destroyed the old VEP on my old car. Otherwise , new owner crossing causing causeway. I pay for the bill. Do u have any solution?
@@shngia I hv the exact same problem and hv exhausted all ways to resolve it as the only thing left to do is to go to the TCSEN office.

@@shngia TCSENS and TNG will not be able to do anything about old VEP RFID. Only JPJ can do it. U can try emailing JPJ repeatedly.
Please note that the VEP RFID MUST only be on the headlamp. Only the TnG RFID which is different from the VEP RFID can be installed on the windscreen.
Why paste on headlamp? Weirdest location to paste something on. Won’t washing of the car over time damage the tag? Inside the car on the windscreen makes more sense.
I had the VEP installed by their staff in March 2019 when they first pushed for it. They have pasted on the windscreen, headlamp is not allowed though.

@@Aliennoware used for 4 years. No damage after washing. If normal rfid u can put anywhere u please. The VEP, if not on headlamp it will be rejected.
@vishnushyamal8568 is correct on this. pls follow the instruction in the video closely (including the position of the rfid on the headlamp). pls do not stick on the curve portion of the headlamp (even partially on the curve will be rejected).
so much personal information given to an external agency outside of Singapore. I wonder how secure their data is kept and are there regulations in check on how they use this data.
When will our side levy the same level of convenience on Malaysian vehicles coming into Singapore?
Took them only 5 years to decide, then properly implement and enforce this... Might still be deciding.

Hi! My VEP is set for the renewal. I have done the Renew online and have received the same email as you have shown in this video. Some documents are supposed to be uploaded. However, there is no uploading button to facilitate the uploading. I wrote to VEP but never get through. Is a headache......
How do you renew your VEP? Is there an option tab to click for renewal? Thank you.
U need to login to VEPAM, another website that showed on top of the JPJ website to complete the registration

Paste it on the outside of the windscreen? Doesn't that make it easy to get damaged though?
had applied rfid tag on the outside of windscreen since the pilot program time, at least for my case the sticker still looks and function good

Such an awful decision to place anything on the exterior of the car. Subjected to weather, stealing etc etc. only the Malaysians can think of such things

@@user-zi7og9bb8s you need to check first if the VEP is still active- likely that its not but old owner didnt remove it, since its linked to ur tng app. Best to just apply new one
The best thing to do is ... DON'T ALLOW SINGAPORE PRIVATE VEHICLES (Cars and Bikes) TO ENTER MALAYSIA AT ALL !!!. This saves Malaysia to avoid selling all kinds of fuel to them, reduce traffic jams, and reduce this arrogant 'tourists' from visiting Malaysia. If they still want to come, use the public transport !!!!

Only normal tng rfid can be anywhere (as long as can read)
mine got rejected for pasting on the slight curve portion of the headlamp. need to pay another RM50+ and re-apply again.

Yes, why should they be concerned about whether my car is entitled or not to be on SG roads. At most should be woodlands customs more concern.
