You should compare these to absolute collections than omnibuses since these are bigger books to really show the art. Or just compare it to a regular floppy. As for future book ? Definitely Alex Ross and his many new covers that haven’t been collected yet.
I think a total top down camera perspective might have benefited this video. The difference in size was lost a bit on me. These are great books good on Mr marvel epic collection himself!
@@NearMintCondition I noticed some of the configurations are available on clover press' site but some have sold out. for example, i noticed they have the kickstarter for Maleev but not Mack, or some signature versions and/or slipcase versions.
Passing on these ones (was reflecting Maleev one, but with this price tag and seeing inside of the book its 'no, thanks') but I'd grabbed Lee Weeks one.
@@kuzyn_kitaszeski If you mean Hellboy Artists Collection: Richard Corben HC, you're right that the price to page count ratio is clearly better. But how do you know how the paper quality compares? And the Hellboy book isn't an artbook, it's a comic. So the quality of the printing doesn't need to be nearly as high as with an artbook of David Mack's or Alex Maleev's art. And even if I should actually be wrong about this, I wrote "kinda affordable", and "My wallet is only whimpering for mercy [...]" How can you interpret this as meaning the price couldn't be better? Seriously!
Everything is 'kinda affordable' is you can afford it. I'd say those books are 'rather expensive'. How do I compare the paper stock? Well, I got eyes. Both have good quality, thick, coated paper. And the printing quality need to be equally high if you want to see drawings rather than washed out pixels, whether it's 'just a Corben's comic', or 'Mack's high art'.
@@kuzyn_kitaszeski So you've actually seen all three books yourself, with your own eyes as opposed to in a photo or video? I didn't know the Marvel ones were out yet. "Kinda affordable" is the same thing as "rather expensive". If it's not affordable, it's really very expensive, and if it's less than rather expensive, it's actually affordable. No, for the art in the Hellboy stories, you don't need the same kind of quality. It's not about "high art", just about the level of detail needed.
Absolutely stunning books. Thank you for showing them off, Omar.
Beautiful books and portfolios!! Can't wait to get mine The Marvel Art of David Nakayama whit the exclusive Slipcase Edition..

Gorgeous books. Great artists. Fell in love with this art style reading DD.
Love it. 🤠
These look fantastic. I usually ask for a big hardback coffee table art book around Christmas time. These might be going on the list haha.

I love David Mack’s art so much
I didn’t know I need those! Beautiful stuff!
I’d like to see The Marvel Art of Esad Ribic or Marvel Art of Lee Weeks.

Won´t be in Sweden until October🥲
Thank you for the overview, Omar!
I'm glad these books are kinda affordable. My wallet is only whimpering for mercy right now, not screaming. 😉
'kinda affordable'? 75$ for 200 pages? Dark Horse just released Hellboy by Rich Corben in similar format and paper quality for 50$ and over 300 pages.

You don't really know what you're talking about. Have a good day.
