Buying a refurbished Ecoflow product isn't the experience I expected. What an absolute bargain!
Why would you buy brand new ever again?
Unboxing a refurbished Ecoflow Smart Generator.

Discovered this channel last week, and I'm hooked. The narration is perfect, and everything is practical, real world experience. I appreciate the effort of filming and editing to share the knowledge, especially in an entertaining way. Even if this video isn't really bike related, it's good to have a trusted person share their experience.
Thanks Mate 👍 your kind words and positivity are very much appreciated 🙏
I bought a suitcase type generator on ebay about 8 years ago, sold as slight seconds ie could be cosmetic damage, missing guff etc, and there was not a mark on it and it had clearly never run, its been absolutely brilliant all this time, I'm waffling :)
I bought an ecoflow delta pro and extra battery refurbished for less than the new delta pro cost by itself. Both looked brand new to me.👍
Awesome Vid.
Re-furbished - typically products delivered from suppler to resellers, but for a multitude of reasons are returned to the supplier (or manufacturer). From there, either different tax or consumer rules apply. Products may or may not be 're-boxed' depending on contractual or country consumer requirements. Thus these products are resold as 'refurbished' but in fact haven't been 'used', only sold-returned-resold. Refurbished is essentially a marketing speak/spin process that is more palatable to customers than saying 'second-hand' or 'used'.
I had a similar experience with Ecoflow.
I bought a 'refurbished' Delta 2, from what I could tell it had been returned to Ecoflow because the packaging was damaged. I don't think it had even been out of the box
Hi, love ur channel always keeps me interested and thinking! I noticed you always say not a how to but loads of top tips! I have a 99 blackbird and thinking to have a go at changing the timing chain etc, seen your vid and was wondering if you had done a how to on it? Never done it myself but you've got me thinking I should be doing it myself. Any advice if not a full video? Cheers for all you do!
It's the same thing with manufacturers of different items. Many times a box could be damaged or someone Returns the product. I have bought refurbished Samsung tablets on Amazon and when you get it it's like brand new it's just that someone opened it and sent it back. I just got a refurbished honing Steel on Amazon for $20. Brand spanking new the package was torn it's selling now for $113.
Posting this with a refurbished phone.
Still doing alright after a couple of years and I didn't pay the silly money it was new.
Looks like a great bit of kit for a race or camping weekend
Definitely agree 👍 The battery bank (Ecoflow Delta Pro) and the Smart Generator are a great combination for off grid power. Works amazingly well for Tyre Warmers, who wants to listen to a generator constantly! The only real downside is the ridiculous cost. I guess as things like this become more mainstream, the cost will come down.
My suspicion is...... and if you believe in conspiracies...... it's not a return.....
I'd be more concerned if a company had that many "returned" items they were able to list as such on their website "refurbished customer returns" for sale.
Imho.... and its only an opinion.... it's new slightly older unused stock, that's been sat around a month or two longer than planned and a new consignment is due to be delivered.
The "discount" is a percentage of the "profit margin".... enabling a profit still, albeit a smaller profit, to be made.
By selling off older new stock "cheaply" it means no more expensive warehousing costs for older stock, enables the factory to remain in production, with "fresh" products in stock and although a numbers game, most folk will buy "new" paying the "new" price, which only gives the manufacturer enhanced "profits"
I regularly buy "customer returns" never yet in over 15 years been sent an "used" item
I think you may be very close to the truth with this comment 🤔
Was literally thinking of you the other day while looking at my generator scratching my head of where else to mount it. XD
😂
That made sense Can't wait for the V Max
I do not think Jim wants to hear the word v-max lol it's been a collosal nightmare from what I have been watching.
Could they be bought from damaged containers while on the ship or at the Docks ????
Hi Can anyone advise if the propane connector fits a standard uk calor gas bottle, or if an adaptor is available to fit the 27mm clip on gaslight bottles?
I was going to buy and Eco flow system for my boat until I found out you need an app on a smart device to use it, what do you do if your phone packs up? also the output of 3.6k is peak power and it will only handle about 2.5 k at constant out put and the set up I needed would of cost over £3500 so I got a 6.5 k diesel generator for much less cash and way more power however its quite heavy and not suitable for a motor home.
Have bought some hyundai stuff factory return refurb etc pressure washer dual action polisher and both perfect as new guess as has already been said its all about warehousing costs storage money politics and so on but would have no worries in doing so again on other products .
I bought a factory refurbed Karcher K4 jetwasher and it's been faultless. Much cheaper than a new one and cosmetically identical.
Probably has a decompressor easy start like the old Aspera engines had
Honestly it seems new doesn't?
great deal i would say
Did you contact the company before buying telling them you were going to make a video about it. Just being sceptical.
Mmmmm, nice crocs😂
😂
My experience as a cheap ba$tard (meaning I've been buying Factory refub for 20+ years), 90% of the time the item looks/feels/functions as new. I know for a Fact in the computer realm it's due to business returns that are mis or over ordered (was my career). The other 10% of the time it's just the bits tossed loos in the box, instant return for another (not sure any of those were Factory refubs though). While not exactly a complex piece of equipment, the oldest refub item I know I have and has been in daily use for 22 years is a toaster. It's been in 5 Major moves and another dozen minor (knocked about and not just left in the same place for that time), and the only issue is that the digital display flashes and needs a ~10min power reset sometimes... maybe twice a year.
I have no fear of FACTORY refurb. items.
I'm a convert! I had no idea that refurbished stuff was even an option until my mate put me on to it!
Been buying referb stuff for years, most big manufacturers have a section on their websites, all my Apple computers are all referb, couple Ecoflow products are referb, I never pay full price for anything electronic.
Did the one you made and mounted under the, finally give up, then?
Hopefully, this'll be the start of the prices coming down. Looks cabby, though.
No, the one under the van is still going strong! Really need to make an update video for that!
These are customer returns that get repaired and all panels and accessories get replaced with brand new parts.
The main components will be used but clean within an inch of their lives
They also send these units out as warranty items to customers.
Apple also do exactly the same thing but not as heavily discounted.
The engine had no signs of being run through, there's no way that they would strip the engine to clean it. Just bizarre that you basically get a new unit for half price 🤔
@@SuperbikeSurgeryTV how do they quality control the item without running it?
Just to add your videos are always on point that includes the editing.
Please keep up the hard work it’s very much appreciated.
Just another way of getting a return on over priced product a lot of the time in my opinion.
Have you got bored trying to fix the V max🫢
