- Released in late Summer 1991, “Word Is Out” was the first single from Kylie’s fourth LP “Let’s Get To It” and showcased a new R&B-flavoured musical direction.
The video was shot in London’s famous Camden Market and featured future British TV presenter Davina McCall as a back-up dancer

I was just thinking the same thing. I try not to comment too often. I purchased this album after getting Disco. I really enjoyed it. I'm shocked that some of this material was not familiar to US audiences. This definitely would have been a big hit on the RnB, Rap, and Gospel charts back in the day. Very surprising and good! Especially for a black audience lol.
Nothing released in between “Enjoy Yourself” and “Fever” saw its original release make it to the United States (except for a limited release of the song “Confide in Me”). All of that stuff was only released here after “Fever”.

I am shocked too. If Geffen Records (her US label at the time) would of skipped the release of Enjoy Yourself and instead released Rhythm of Love, I felt like she would found more success in the US, as I felt like her albums in the 90s had more appeal to the US market than her 80s albums.
This should be remastered next! It seriously needs it!!!!

I am a Yazz fan and I also love Kylie. Yazz ‘Words out’ and Kylie ‘word is out’ sound v funky and v similar with that early 90s beat but they are both lyrically about different subjects completely. It’s almost spooky how similar they are though and I love both tracks
Not great audio quality but EASY, get the KYLIE re-issue of Let's Get To It or a DVD compilation and WELLA, you not only own it physically but you have good audio. It ain't rocket science!

Completely epic but underrated. I really don't understand.
It's all about context, the general public just flat out rejected this version of Kylie, I mean she basically meant to be a prostitute in this video and people didn't like it. I always liked the video myself.
It did go Top 10 in Australia and 16 in the UK. It remains her most funkiest and classy track!

A beautiful song from the Pop genius of Mike Stock but in this version that you put on TH-cam the audio quality is bad, you should have put a digitized version of higher quality.
