    It's almost time for me to get started with my #tourof2017. I thought this would be a good time to make a video to share some of the information of how I pack for a long ride on a motorcycle. I hope you find this useful. Don't forget to read the blogpost linked above for the detailed checklist of things to pack for a long motorcycle tour in India.
    Do keep watching the channel and subscribe to follow along as the #tourof2017 unfolds. I have no idea what's going to happen, but I'm looking forward to whatever lies ahead.

    I've been packing over the last few days. So, I've made a video and written a blogpost about what I carry and how I carry it. Also, this means that the #tourof2017 is going to start soon. Really looking forward to travelling again and sharing the journey with all of you. Do keep watching, liking, commenting, sharing and subscribing! Thanks, as always, for your support!

    This is called a perfect packing for a tour.. Normally riders/vlogers don't find this important to tell their subscribers what to pack and how to... but u did a great job.. Your work is neat and clean. Hope u rock this touring season... 🤘

    A few of my friends and i are planning a cross country trip and thank the lord i found you man. This is beyond helpful. Our bikes are oriented a little different (sport touring so not quite the same layout at the rear) but we are figuring out how to translate these to fit our bikes and it's beyond helpful. Keep it up!

    Thanks for some great pointers on what and how to pack gear on a motorcycle.
    Especially liked the following:
    1. Using the tarp to protect the gear
    2. The lashing method
    3. Splitting the tools in two packs
    And lastly...
    4. The clothes clips!
    Thanks bro.

    Consider zip or cable ties. Helped me numerous times. Also enduristan and givi make some awesome drybags with loops. So u dont have to worry about water proofing.

    • @TollFreeTraveller
      @TollFreeTraveller  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Angad Singh thanks. I carry and use ties sometimes. about dry bags, they do solve the waterproofing part . why I like tarpaulin is that my bags stay really clean and the tarp takes the beating. which means when I open or close my bags, there is no muck and they don't need to be washed as often. just a personal preference

      That's great to hear, Nikhil. It took me a while to figure out some of these systems (trial and error), and the intention is to share these things so that others can be a hundred steps ahead (unless they already have better systems already, of course). I think the easiest way to connect is through DM on Instagram. Good luck for your tour!

    I have a question about managing gear while traveling.
    If you are making long trips with all the gears(armoured jacket, pant, boot, helmet and gloves) how do you manage then when you are not travelling? Do you take a room in hotel keep them out and then roam around to local places or how do you manage?
    If it is a one day trip and you want to take bath in falls, what do you do at that time. managing luggage at different places while travelling is difficult.

    Hi, so I have a few questions for you:-
    1) On a Ladakh Carrier (LC), how much weight can I or should I carry?
    2) Basis the weight, what would be the recommended tyre pressure? I ride classic 350 solo. Normally I maintain 20&30.
    3) for shorter trips, is it ok if I put all my luggage on the top rear end of the LC (1 duffel bag)? Since I will not be carrying 2 bags to balance it out on the sides. In my last trip I used a rynox tank bag first as a tank bag n then used it on the pillion seat but didn't find it comfortable. So now thinks of putting at the end.
    Hope u can help it out on this. Thanks.

    • @TollFreeTraveller
      @TollFreeTraveller  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey - the LC is pretty sturdy so weight isn't really a problem. Normal luggage should be fine. I usually keep tryes at 23 (front) and 32 (rear). Yup, for a shorter ride just one bag at the back is more than enought
