An excellent list of games, The PSP had so many visually stunning & cool games that looked incredible for their time & still hold their own today... I didn't get to play the PSP as much back in the day but after watching the games on show here, it may be a good time to revisit the system again... Great Video...! 😁
Never had a psp myself but I enjoy these games a lot more than I was a kid. I used to take these kinds of graphics for granted but as I get older, it isn't always about looking good.
4 games missing from the list: intelligent cube and devil dice that were on PS1 were rereleased on PSP plus King's field additional 1 & 2 (2 separate games).
It will always be amazing even in 2023 I just bought one not too long ago again because I missed games like Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood another Fullmetal Alchemist games only came out with two for the PSP but then there was other games I wanted to try that was from Japan like more ape Escape only released in Japan
Nice, would like to see more translated games worth playing. Also here's an idea for future vids you could do (game ports to PSP from ps1 or ps2). I'm not talking about eboots but remakes like the first star ocean or tales of eternia, to see if there are added/cut content just for the PSP version.
.hack//Link is a action rpg which encompasses the full history of the .hack series. It has a full english patch thanks to the efforts of .hack//Translate. I recommend

Man vallyria 3 is one of my favorite games and with out the patch I would never have played it. I know the cost of traslation is great and I cant expect everything to be ported but still is a shame we miss up in lots of good games. In any case, I will keep an eye on these games. I could Google it, but it might help a lot of other people to ask whether un-hacked PSPs are able to play games from other reasons - even though there’ll be no reason to keep your PSP unhacked, In other words, can these Japanese releases be played on a US PSP?
If you’re tracking down physical imports I’m pretty sure those run on any PSP modded or not, tho if you want to play em with English Patches you’ll have to get your PSP modded

As a big Tales fan, I actually really liked Twin Brave. Though that may be because I'm also a Dynasty Warriors fan lol! Wasn't a huge fan of VS. though.
The other reason about initial d street stage is amazing is the char interaction, during fights side cahr speak like in the anime and its based on the manga not the anime wich is cool

Wouldve loved to play the Danball Senki games, the Kenka Banchoa games, Nano Diver, the Gundam AGE Cosmic Drive/Universal Accel, SMT: Devil Summoner, and Frontier Gate Boost+ but I guess the companies they wouldnt do well here smh What a short sited mindset.

The ones that disappoint me the most are the three Macross games and a Monster Hunter clone called Nano Diver. Why is it that fans will translate an RPG with hundreds of pages of text, but they avoid translating those type games like the plague? "Oh, you don't need translations to play those games, they're simple enough." Really? What the hell am I supposed to do in this mission? Am I supposed to shoot those ships or protect them? Why did I suddenly fail the mission? What happened? Not to mention the menus of choices and stats all in Japanese.
Whilst I like this video's content(I always like hearing about more Vanillaware Games and praising VC also sits well with me anytime.) I would recommend cutting the "Japanese" from the title/the second sentence of the description though. Having it start and end with "Japan" seems a little redundant.

The Crossbell (Trails) duology is the first one that comes to mind for me.
The original project diva games also never left Japan, and it’s interesting since we would get the F versions of them later on.
It also got fan translation too.
Those games are crazy fun tho

I recently started playing Obscure the Aftermath the graphics are insane for a game over decade old.
Not a PSP game, but as soon as the E.X. Troopers soundtrack started playing, ya got me pumped. Recently started playing the fan translation of that.
