Marty you are seriously the man. Most people would give a half ass lesson then tell everyone to give them money through patreon. But you give lessons hella thorough like twice a week for free and all you ask is that people subscribe. Then you take it even further and give more free lessons on your website.

Hey Marty. How you doing? I live in Bangalore, India and love playing the blues. Just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you. You are an amazing teacher and guitarist. Enjoy your lessons very much. I was stuck in the pentatonic shapes but your lessons on the extended scales in the E root and the extended scale on the A root were revelations and I am able to play so much better and am beginning to solo all over the neck. And enjoy learning to play classic rock songs. Love the way you teach and your sense of humour. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge. Anytime you want to come to India on holiday or on work, give me a holler. You’ve got a friend here. Cheers man, and thank you.
I just started playing electric a few months ago. I have learned so much from your channel and enjoy the live jam sessions you have with guests on your couch. I have watched many different people online try to teach how to play specific songs but none have the ability to break it down like you. You make it easy to follow along and explain each note to play as you go along. Keep up the great work!
Nice lesson Marty! I see that you play mostly in Standard tunning, but if you want to play it the way John Fogerty does, then you have to tune your guitar to Standard D tuning. His brother Tom played the rhythm part in Standard tuning and both parts overlayed which gave CCR that great tone. You can also see that John plays his parts in D tunning just by looking at their concert footage as well. Play these songs in any tunning you want, it'll all sound good!
Hey Marty.....Love your stuff. As an old guitarist I emerged from the wilderness of about 30 odd years and your lessons have taught me all those songs I thought I could never learn. THANK YOU
Me too. There was no TH-cam or internet when I stopped playing. Now I am an old man just out here learning every cool song I never had time to figure out on my own.
I grew some whiskers & my playing improved, but then again maybe it was all the great guitar lessons here at Marty Music. People Get Ready by Curtis Mayfield, please.
I came here to see how Marty would play the line in standard tuning but I heard a difference in the opening riff. The lower note sounds more like 9th fret (B) to 7th fret (A) to 5th feet (G) but then the next move you should be staying on the 5th fret (G). Not that it’s THAT big of a deal but that’s the difference I heard between Marty and what the recording plays. Love the channel. Keep it up, my students love your videos as do I.🎉
I put my guitar down many months ago because of school I was to busy, I just recently started again and of course I’m gonna come back here to learn more! I’ve learned everything I know about guitars from this channel and I’m happy to be back
My grandpa was in the Vietnam war and he said he wasn’t me to learn guitar, I’ve been playing for a year now and when I got see him in NY I’ll play this
Marty Music can I just say thank you for making such easy to follow videos your tutorials have improved my guitar so much over the last 6 years. Between guitar jamz and this new channel thank you the videos are really awesome. And I'm a big fan keep up the awesome content
This song pops into my head. No clue what the key was, kinda had it figured out in E. 2 mins into the lesson, I've got it and in the right key. Thanks Marty!
I'm always curious how you choose which guitar for which song. Other than pickups and string gauge, I know there's always an ongoing argument whether guitar bodies actually play a factor in tonality. Wasn't John Fogerty a Les Paul player??? Another great lesson, Marty. Thank you so much for your generosity. Musical knowledge is a wonderful gift.
Thanks a bunch, Marty! This is the first time I've ever been on your channel, but I'll definitely return. Your pacing is perfect for me--watched it once and I've got it down--and you make it clear exactly what I have to do. Again, thanks!
You and Justin Sandercoe are just the best. Many lessons on TH-cam are crap given by shitty "teachers" (I use that word lightly) just because they think they have figured it out and that qualifies them to show others. When you can tell they didn't transcribe it even close to the original. Not you guys. You guys work it out and are flawless in your presentation. Just the best!
Thank u for teaching ! U are very good at it I'm excited to try and learn all these on the Electric gutair!!i normally play acustic but I'm getting into Electric a bit more !
