@MrMclovin44 I'm not sure those dates are accurate. Don't hold me to this, but I have heard that all the boxes were made then and even the updated crossbows were shipping in those same boxes. I don't have any confirmation of that from the company or anything but I've never heard of a box that didn't have those old 20/20 dates on it
I purchased one late last summer after watching your videos and seeing how well it performed. Got it from Wyvern Creations for $799 and also got a $100.00 rebate from KI. I couldn't be happier with my purchase, I love everything about it and I harvested a 130" 10 pt. with it to top things off. Thanks you Rich for turning me onto this magnificent piece of equipment.
Your issues with decocking and cranks are similar to what I experienced. That's what drove me to my tenpoint venom-x. Integrated is the best way to do cranks. Super easy to decock after a hunt. We won't talk about why I am so experienced in decocking instead of shooting though...
Glad you posted another video, my withdrawal pangs since the last one were getting unbearable. LOL! Can't wait for the press video series! Give us lots of step by step close up views. Woo Hoo!
I bought a swat X1 last year Rich after watching your videos. First impressions were awesome, but then it got bad, dry fire, no safeties on these bows, honestly there cheap and made in Taiwan, suks, but im back to my Ravins. Made rite.. love your channel Rich...
I have owned the x1 and the xp. They are very accurate bows and with it shooting longer arrows, they penetrate very well. The arrows I shoot out of mine are spinal taps and they have put a couple nice bucks on the wall. Limb problems was the reason I bought my tenpoint 505 and I have been in love ever since.
I’m also a excalibur guy (recurve fan). But the only big reason is the maintenance, i love to make my own strings and shoot nearly every day. Maybe someday there’s a compound crossbow with easy maintenance, a new kind of construction would be awesome.
Oh Rich I just thought of something for you too, a simple easy DIY cocking arrow/ bolt. Tennis ball and duck-tape cut a hole in the tennis ball, remove the insides get a arrow/bolt with no field point put it in the hole tape across one side than the other and than wrap taping from the ball to the shaft and you can use fluorescent colours too to help you find it easier in the dark as well. 1/4 to 1/2 roll should work. Back in my LARPING days we had to make them befor the foam things came out and this works well. Much cheaper than actual decocking bolts/arrows. Just incase you want to give something a try!
Broke the string on my fatal X at the end of October and my bow is still in the archery shop waiting on new string, cables and cams from killer instinct. I do love that bow though.
Thanks Rich….another awesome vlog. I bought my SWAT X1 last year & shortly after I put it up for sale. I just felt it was too short & could never work for me. It didn’t sell. That turned out to be a good thing because it forced me to give the X1 a fair chance. That was an eye opener. I quickly found out that the length wasn’t an issue at all. As a matter of fact within probably 10 shots it was clearly becoming one of my favorite X-bows. Once I had tested multiple bolts, heads from 100-200grains, & discovered the incredible constant consistent accuracy it took the top spot, hands down. And that was using the factory optics. Fast forward to this year & Black Friday. I just couldn’t pass up a great deal on a Burris Oracle. I’m still thinking it’s going on the X1. As for KI I was so happy with the X1 that I also purchased a Vital X 430. Another very impressive bow without the frills. Shoots almost as good as the X1. Looking at a Skorpyd Orion 150 & a REV X as well. What to do???? Thanks again Rich. Hope you had a great Christmas & your New Year is amazing!!
@ It’s a no frills option but it really performs. I’m not a fan of their cranks either (I do use one on the SWAT though) so I’m rope cocking it. Not too bad but with my shoulders I wouldn’t want to pull more. I also have the blessing of big hands (size 15 wedding ring) so it’s not always comfortable to grip X-bows. I’m going to order a conversion kit & some grips. I’ve always loved a 1911 in my hands. Fits like nothing else.
I almost bought this bow after watching your previous series on it but due to everyone either being out of stock or grossly marked up in price, I decided to go with a used Mission Sub-1 XR. People seem to be dumping bows before ATA. I only need one bow, can be de cocked, and no press needed. I do like the X1 a lot! Hopefully 2025 has some innovative things come out
Killer instinct are great crossbows but the more I see compounds and still with the same issues not being able to uncock them without shooting the more I like and appreciate the old wide excalibur, it’s also cool when you get into making your own strings and things it’s much more enjoyable at least for me, I don’t ever see me getting a compound of any kind of bow but that’s okay because we all keep crossbows in business. Archery is forever growing more than ever before. I am really glad you enjoy your crossbows though. Even the Ravin which I really am not a fan of that company at all hahahahahah! But good stuff and always great videos.
I bought my Killer Instinct Swat 1X crossbow and 12 bots for $870 at Lancaster Archery. It was discontinued. So I jumped on the opportunity to get it. Killer Instinct Swat X1 for 2025. 🎉🎉🎉 Great video Rich. ❤❤❤
Thanks for the trigger update and hopefully something will trigger some of those compound bow shooters to update their 2025 season to a crossbow and finally HIT what they have been missing for so long.😊
Great video. Tenpoint will debut its 2025 lineup 9:00 Central, 10:00 Eastern. They will be live on their website at this time. Don’t know if you attend the ATA show but I will be present & if you do attend, be sure to drop by the TP booth & look me up. Would be Honored to meet you in person. Kudos on an informative video. Love your content & HONEST evaluations. Keep it up! See ya on the next one.
I had the same problem! Lost 2 bolts and mechanical broad heads out in the woods. Had to get my trigger replaced and lost 3 weeks of hunting . Still a little nervous about it when I release the safety. The shop that replaced it told me killer instinct had a batch of faulty components.
Great video Rich just a thought but with the saftey on when you pull the trigger you pull out all the travel so when you switch the safety off it makes it a "hair" trigger. Try that next time in a safe place obviously with it pointed down range at a target. I think like killer Instinct said there was nothing wrong with your bow. Happy new years to you and your family.
Kind of wish I had gone for this over the Wicked Ridge M-370. But only so many days left in bow season here and I was itching to get atarted and had to go with what was in stock at the local shop.
You might want to check out the DNT zulus scope. You can get a laser rangefinding scope with ballistic compensation (like the burris) with built in IR night vision, which can be removed so its a day only scope. Its a much smaller package than the burris, doesnt need the cheek riser and are selling for about $600. Oh, did i mention built in video recording?
@Deathbybunjie been shooting mine since early November, and the video quality blows away anything from tactacam. Also, the low light gathering ability makes end of legal shooting hours look like broad daylight, without the IR illuminator. Setting the ballistics up can be challenging, but everything can be done right from the scope or the app, but once done, they're spot on. The ability to change the reticle color/style on the fly is sweet. The Burris is nice, but this scope is far more feature packed, at a lower price point. Plus, I might throw the IR illuminator on after the late season and try for some coyotes.
Happy new year Counselor (and everyone ). Not the bow for me but a nice bow just the same. TenPoint, TenPoint or another TenPoint. Did I mention TenPoint 😉 LOL. Just get out and hunt regardless of gear.
That 1911 grip def fits my hand better, thanks for the tip. And that loose serving I had in the summer that you saw seemed to get better. 🤷♂️. I’ve been hunting with it mostly now. 3 deer down. How popular are decocking mechanisms? I feel like it would be a good selling point. Maybe I'm wrong, though.

You might add some padding to the back of the pistol grip to move your palm further away from the trigger?
That certainly is one plan, maybe if I do that and add a trigger shoe it will be a better fit, make it bigger in both directions
