    You’ve really taught me that the beginning of my lifestyle change needs to include exercises that are fun. I would get so overwhelmed because I felt like I had to start with weights, but I’m just not there yet. I love jump roping and actually find myself looking forward to it :)

    Loved the video! I just did my first half marathon last year and am doing my second one this year! What helped me the most was going to a weekly running club at one of the running shoe stores near me! We meet once a week and run 4 miles together and running with others definitely helped a ton! I also use the lululemon fast and free running belt however it’s not my most favorite, also if your lululemon top is too long they well hem it in store for free!

    I ran my first half marathon in November. I made it through! Now I'm training for my second one coming up in February. So proud of you for doing this!

    I loved the guided runs when I was training for my half last year. I found that I ran so much faster because I didn’t want to let my “coach” down. Also I also just recently jumped on the ted lasso train and just finished it and I’m in your boat- changed how I see the world

    Well done on the 8km/5mile run, I would do the same as you and run 5k/3miles and that's it really, and yesterday I set out to try an 8k at a "casual pace" and managed 10! I felt so stupidly proud of myself, so I definitely appreciate how good it feels! Well done!

    Yes! I love what you said about doing things you didn’t think you could do. That’s definitely why I workout. When I can add more weight to my shoulder press or do an extra push-up or move thru a full set of an exercise without pausing I feel so surprised & accomplished & it keeps me coming back for more! 😅💪🏾 I can’t run due to a knee injury but I love to take my pup on long walks. Loved this video!

    Thanks Taylor ,really needed this today! Your amazing and keep on working at meeting your half marathon goals, I ran a half marathon several years ago and although it was difficult it was a memory I'll forever have. Sometimes within the health community I think we either think it's an all or nothing type of mentality which has become almost as toxic as hustle culture. Thank you for expressing your journey with fitness in a positive light, it sure helps those who are continuing to redefine what true health and wellness is ❤

    When I had long heavy hair, I liked to wear it in a high pony too. To save myself from migraines from it being heavy, I would section my hair like a half up half down style and make a high point with the top half of my hair, then bring my bottom section up to merge with the top, use a second elastic to secure it to the original pony. I'm no engineer so I don't know the physics around it but it definitely helped

    I'm taking some of your tips of balancing running and gym.
    I also learn to listen to my body to rest. def invest foam roller and spike ball for running! go roll your calves, thigh, hamstring and back!!! Painful but satisfying!

    They make running vests, they're usually like mesh material and super lightweight with tons of pockets. Some of them also come with a pouch to put a hydration pack!

    I don't know it you watch Keltie here on the tube, but she said something and it's totally changed my outlook on the gym.
    She said that she stops running/lifting, right before she wants to stop. So instead of running 5k, and that last half of a mile being awful, she stops right before she wants to. That way the next day she's eager to run again.
    Totally changed my mindset, so now I'm always wanting to run/train, instead of dreading it.

    Another way to make your smoothie chunky is frozen zucchini!! I slice up a zucchini like 1/2 inch think maybe and put two slices in my smoothies and it makes them thick but gives no flavor of the zucchini. It also is another way to get more veggies too (not that you really need it for this one lol)

    Okay I LOVE the lululemon swiftly shirts!! They are also too long for me (5’3” with a SHORT torso☺️) & their race length option is PERFECT for me!     What intervals did you do for the 35 min endurance run? What pace were you trying to hold? I’ve been thinking about getting back into running and you’ve inspired me!

      ahh thanks kelly! i was following the Nike app so it did it all for me, but we would alternate between a 5k pace, a 10k pace, a mile pace, rest, etc. it was really hard but really great! i'm following the half marathon plan on the app

    Thanks Taylor for the motivation ! Love all of your videos and appreciate the content you put out for us. This year I want to work on running more. I workout 5x a week following Sydney Cummings but I want to challenge myself to get into running too. I apologize if you already mentioned this, but did you say which half marathon you will be doing? I live in WA as well and the winter has really got me in a funk as far as wanting to go outside. I start work when the sun is just rising and only have less than an hr of sun after I get off of work before it gets dark. I live near a trail where people go on their walks/run but As soon as I am up for a run, I get turned off by the crime in the area. Just a couple days ago someone was mugged on the trail by 4 people. It worries me about not having a running/walking partner sometimes soy running goals always gets pushed back. Anyways, sorry for the rant 😆. Thank you again for keeping us motivated and entertained .     Edit : ooooo I know what trail you are running at 19:50 ! I love going there in the summer time . I would def try to run there more often when the sun rises earlier. It’s about 35 mins from me VS the other trail I mentioned earlier which is literally just behind my house .

    It doesn’t matter if we are runners, gymnasts or lifters, the thing that we all have in common is that we all struggle with body issues, hair issues, eating, hydration, finding the right outfit and getting out there to do the darn thing. So I don’t run. Doesn’t mean that I don’t love and relate to the vlogs!

    Was so excited to use Nike run club app but the planned programmes disappeared for me which I saw in your previous video.... Now don't what to do because was so useful

      @@TaylorWoods saw some people mention in pervious video when they first downloaded the app they had the planned programmes for running but they disappeared after some time. I've had the app for least than a month and just happend to me. Now I can only track my runs on the app which is kinda useless for me because I have an apple watch 😭 was so helpful because I suck at running

    just FYI in case it helps anyone: i get low back pain walking when my hip flexors and/or quads are tight! maybe everybody knows this and im a knucklehead, but took me a while to make the connection :) really good stretching beforehand and foam rolling regularly has made a difference

    I like wearing bum bags/running waist pack/fanny pack. I have one for my phone and inhaler and mask. The other is for a small wallet, tissue, and keys with one pocket for used tissue. I think doing a rocket of stuff from my nose is unhygienic and disgusting. My used tissue pocket is only used for that and washing my hands at home and sanitise on the go. I have a run backpack from Amazon that holds 2 250ml Solomon squeeze flasks and there is a small back for things. One zip pocket, one pocket for something small with velcro close and that pocket has a small alert whistle.
    The Solomon backpack look amazing, but my justification is I don't run an ultra. Thus I can't justify the purchase yet.
    I use Strava every run.

    When that happens your TickTock, sometimes it’s some very conservative person going oh my gosh she’s showing skin even though your belly button wasn’t even being shown. Other times it’s like a glitch or some thing, it’s really very annoying so what I would suggest is change the music or change the filter and the music you could shift the music over just do something to change the video usually it’s about sound, and then just re-post. It’s very annoying. You look great in the video by the way!
